After a lengthy period of dormancy, CFM is back, server and everything! And what better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than with a tournament!

We did draft leagues in the past, but both of those ended up being overly complicated and kind of petered out mid-way, so we're just gonna stick to a standard, bracket-based tournament structure this time around. To sign up, just reply to this saying "in". Sign-ups will close Wednesday, September 26th. The format for this tourney will be OU. Also, keep in mind that we are not affiliated with the Pet Mod Grand Slam. With that said, let the games begin!

What is Cool Funky Mode?
CFM is a Pet Mod designed and programmed by our supreme emperor thechurchofcage. The goal of this metagame is to resolve issues with the main games that we consider unhealthy, strange or uneccessary.

Here's some examples of our lord's magic:

  • Stealth Rocks have had their damage output halved, and their distribution is reduced to Rock types, some Ground types, and very select few others. Toxic, Scald and Protect have also had their distribution cut.
  • Toxic Spikes and Aurora Veil have been entirely removed, and the Mega Latis and the Mega Mewtwos have their mega stones unreleased.
  • Water types cannot be burned, and Fire types cannot be frozen.
  • Hail now boosts Ice moves by 1.3x and reduces the power of Fire and Water moves.
But mechanics buffs aren't the only thing we've got! We also have lots of Pokemon and Move buffs! And by lots, we mean LOTS. And we've got them all stored on this Weebly page right here: http://cancerfairy.weebly.com/ disclaimer some stuff is outdated and some buffs are not listed

OUR BUFFING PHILOSOPHY
When we buff stuff, we don't buff it just to make it a super powerful OU threat. We buff stuff because it's thematically fitting, even if it isn't always super strong and viable. Which is why we have...

CFM Tiers
Cool Funky Mode has various tiers, from OU to PU, including Ubers. A Little Cup tier is also planned. What tier a Pokemon is in can be seen on the Weebly right next to the Pokemon.

So when are we gonna start getting this meta coded?
We don't have to start. The meta is already all coded! And it can be played on this neat little PSIM right here: cancer.psim.us
Keep in mind though, we are not done with development! More things will be added in due time!
