[SET COMMENTS]
Volcarona makes great use of Quiver Dance and its solid defensive profile, checking Pokemon like Weavile, Meowscarada, and Iron Valiant, and it combines them with its decent longevity bolstered by Morning Sun to force switches and gain free opportunities to set up and sweep. The occasional Special Attack raises provided by Fiery Dance can add to Volcarona’s boosts and increase its sweeping potential, while Flamethrower is a more consistent and powerful alternative with more PP to assist in the long run. Tera Blast can be used as a surprise coverage move after Terastillizing but can also be used as a neutral move before Terastillizing for Fire-resistant Pokemon such as Gouging Fire. Tera Dragon gives Volcarona several powerful resistances, such as to Water, which helps against Barraskewda and rain, and Fire, which helps against Cinderace and opposing Volcarona; it also gives it a Tera Blast that hits most Pokemon neutrally and threatens Dragon-types like Kyurem, Dragonite, and Gouging Fire. Tera Fairy, in addition to being a solid defensive typing that also threatens Dragon-types, gives Volcarona a Dragon immunity to avoid attacks from Dragapult and Raging Bolt and resist Sucker Punch from Kingambit, as well as a way to solidly damage Ting-Lu. Tera Water is a powerful defensive option that gives Volcarona a threatening attack against the likes of Heatran and opposing Volcarona and a strong matchup against rain teams. Alternative Tera options are Ground, to improve Volcarona's matchup against Fire-types like Heatran and Poison-types like Clodsire, Toxapex, and Galarian Slowking and give it an immunity to Thunder Wave, and Grass, which is strong against bulky Water-types like Primarina and Hisuian Samurott. This set should run Giga Drain instead of Tera Blast for added longevity. Heavy-Duty Boots is a must-have for Volcarona to cover for its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. 152 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Great Tusk and Gholdengo as well as Zamazenta and Dragapult after a boost from Quiver Dance, while the remaining EVs are invested into HP and Defense to make Volcarona bulky enough to survive attacks from Pokemon like Raging Bolt, Enamorus, and Meowscarada that it otherwise couldn’t.

Volcarona’s ability to set up and sweep is always useful for helping teams make progress, but bulky Volcarona specifically is able to help its team by checking physical attackers throughout the game. Flame Body can cripple attackers like Kingambit and Dragonite on the switch in and can force them out from fear of being burned. This opens up teammates like Kyurem and Walking Wake to play more aggressively. Entry hazard setters like Glimmora and Great Tusk also appreciate Volcarona's ability to threaten Pokemon that try to use Rapid Spin with a burn. Dual screen setters like Deoxys-S and Alolan Ninetales are able to boost Volcarona's defenses significantly, giving it more opportunities to set up and sweep. Volcarona is also useful on sun teams, supporting Pokemon like Roaring Moon and Walking Wake with boosted Fire-type attacks as well as helping defensively against rain teams with Tera Water and picking off Deoxys-S and Iron Valiant with a sun-boosted Flamethrower. Volcarona is unable to make progress against special walls like Clodsire and Blissey; a Pokemon like Gholdengo are able to assist with Psyshock and immunity to moves like Toxic and Thunder Wave. Powerful physical cleaners like Weavile and Choice Band Meowscara are also useful for this purpose and synergize well with Volcarona. Other Unaware walls like Dondozo are also unaffected by Volcarona’s sweeping potential; wearing these threats down with hazards from Pokemon like Gliscor and Hisuian Samurott is extremely important in helping Volcarona sweep late-game. Weavile, Hisuian Samurott, and Meowscarda also help against Dondozo with Knock Off, discarding its Heavy-Duty Boots so that it can be worn down by entry hazards. Galarian Slowking is particularly difficult for Volcarona to deal with, especially if it's running Tera Fairy; powerful Pokemon that match up well against it like Kingambit, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite are important to chip it down and force it out.

Switching these two moves around seems minor, but it lets you go right into discussing Tera Blast and Volc's Tera types in tandem with one-another; when I wrote offensive Volc putting Tera Blast 4th helped keep everything nice and ordered. Trust me; there's gonna be plenty of emphasis on Tera types in a bit.

[SET COMMENTS]
Volcarona is a bulky set up sweeper that can be used as a defensive check, forcing Pokemon it threatens to switch out, giving itself opportunities to set up and break through teams. Volcarona makes great use of Quiver Dance to grow stronger, which can quickly become difficult for your opponent to handle if positioned well. This could be condensed into one all-encompassing sentence; think something along the lines of "Volcarona combines its access to Quiver Dance with its solid defensive profile (briefly mention a select few mons this set checks nicely) and decent longevity to force switches and gain free setup opportunities," or something to that effect. There's a lot of ways for you to say this, so I'll leave it up to you. The occasional special attack raises provided by Fiery Dance can add to Volcarona’s boosts and increase its sweeping potential, while Flamethrower is a more consistent and powerful alternative definitely mention the extra PP over Fiery Dance here; it's not a huge deal, but for a set like this the extra PP can come in handy if it's playing the long game. Tera Blast can be used as a surprise coverage move after Terastilizing, but can also be used as a neutral move before Terastilizing for Fire resists such as Gouging Fire. Heavy-Duty Boots is a must-have for Volcarona in order to cover for its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. If you wanna mention this at all, you could move it to after the Tera types section; Volc and Tera are so intertwined with one-another that I'm of the opinion that you really can just go right into discussing individual Tera types. Tera Dragon gives Volcarona several powerful resistances what notable attacks do you gain newfound resistances to? and a Tera Blast that can hit most Pokemon neutrally absolutely correct and a good call to mention the neutral coverage, but you should mention some specific Dragon-weak targets that this covers; obviously this applies to most Dragon-types, but Gouging Fire's the big one here, Tera Fairy gives Volcarona a Dragon immunity to avoid attacks from Dragapult and Raging Bolt similarly, you should also mention its crucial SE coverage against Ting-Lu and these aforementioned Dragons; not hitting Gouging Fire super effectively is a big difference, and Tera Water is a solid defensive typing that allows Volcarona to survive more damage from Pokemon like Gliscor or Great Tusk and continue setting up with Quiver Dance once again, absolutely correct and a good call, but you should also mention the Water resistance (helps vs. rain) and the important SE coverage it offers (i.e. Heatran, opposing Volc, Clodsire, Skeledirge, etc.). It's up to you regarding whether or not you should include these, but you could also give some honorable mentions to Ground (covers all of Clod/Pex/most Fire-types including Gouging, a much better GKing matchup and a TWave immunity, and a Rock resist at the cost of a poor rain MU) and Grass with Giga Drain (Water resistance, hits Primarina and H-Samurott, and has some additional recovery while being less Tera-reliant, but at the cost of your MU against GKing and Dragon/Fire types). Again, these aren't slashed; just some additional Tera choices you can run. 152 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Great Tusk and Gholdengo as well as Zamazenta and Dragapult after a boost from Quiver Dance, while the remaining EVs are invested into HP and defense to make Volcarona bulky enough to survive more attacks from Pokemon like Raging Bolt and Enamorus that it otherwise wouldn’t have. Again, you're right and these are useful examples, but they're both special attackers. Are there any physical attacks that the Defense investment we have here lets you sponge better?

Volcarona’s ability to set up and sweep is always useful for helping any teams make progress, but bulky Volcarona specifically is able to help its team by checking physical attacks throughout the game. Flame Body can cripple attackers like Kingambit and Dragonite on switch in, and can threaten them to switch out from fear of being burned. This opens up teammates like Enamorus and Gholdengo to play more openly. Hazard setters like Glimmora and Great Tusk also appreciate Volcarona's ability to threaten Pokemon that try to Rapid Spin with a burn. Screen setters like Deoxys-S and Dragapult are able to boost Volcarona's defensives significantly, giving it more opportunities to set up and sweep Screens Pult isn't one of our sample sets anymore, so you could scrap mention of it; you could possibly mention A-Tales in its place. Volcarona is also useful on Sun teams, supporting Pokemon like Roaring Moon and Walking Wake with boosted Fire-type attacks as well as helping defensively against Rain teams with Tera Water. Volcarona is unable to make progress against special walls like Clodsire not a bad mention, but there are some Tera types that give it a chance, i.e. Water and Blissey; a Pokemon like Gholdengo is able to assist with Psyshock and immunity to moves like Toxic and Thunder Wave. Other Unaware walls like Dondozo are also unaffected by Volcarona’s sweeping potential; wearing these threats down with hazards from Pokemon like Gliscor or Hisuian Samurott, is extremely important in helping Volcarona sweep late game. Without Terastalizing, Volcarona is extremely vulnerable to Rock-type attacks from faster Pokemon, such as Iron Boulder and Landorus-T. Having some bulky Pokemon that cover this weakness, like Ting-Lu, Great Tusk, and Zamazenta, can support Volcarona throughout the game. I'd like to see some mention of Galarian Slowking here somewhere; Volc can struggle heavily against it, especially if it's Tera Fairy, and as such having teammates that can force it out or even get rid of it altogether can be super useful.

Volcarona makes great use of Quiver Dance and its solid defensive profile, checking Pokemon like Weavile, Meowscarada, and Iron Valiant, and decent longevity (further bolstered by msun. can say that in brief cuz msun is not stab, either here or after flames) to force switches and gain free opportunities to set up and sweep. Tera Dragon gives Volcarona several powerful resistances, such as to Thunderbolts from Raging Bolt and Iron Valiant and Flamethrowers from Dragapult and Dragonite (nah these are p bad examples for a multitude of reasons. but just mention the most important resistance is to water that helps vs water-types, especially against rain mons like skewda. also helpful against other fires like opp volc and cinderace), and a Tera Blast that can hit most Pokemon neutrally and threatens Pokemon Dragon-types like Kyurem, Dragonite, and Gouging Fire. Tera Fairy, in addition to the aforementioned super-effective hit against Dragon-types, gives Volcarona a Dragon immunity to avoid attacks from Dragapult and Raging Bolt (also sucker resistance from gambit. also a generally good defensive typing but up to u if u wanna mention/elaborate on that), and a way to solidly damage Ting-Lu. Tera Water is a solid defensive typing that allows Volcarona to survive more damage from Pokemon like Gliscor or Great Tusk and continue setting up with Quiver Dance, as well as giving you a threatening hit against the likes of Heatran and opposing Volcarona, and a strong matchup against Rain teams. Screen setters like Deoxys-S and Alolan Ninetales are able to boost Volcarona's defensives significantly, giving it more opportunities to set up and sweep (tbf bulky volc doesnt particularly benefit that much from screens compared to offensive variants. but a 1 line mention is fine ig). Volcarona is also useful on Sun teams, supporting Pokemon like Roaring Moon and Walking Wake with boosted Fire-type attacks as well as helping defensively against Rain teams with Tera Water (any notable kos with sunboosted fire stab?). Could you elaborate on what you mean by (im not sure bout these examples. burning gambit is useful for setup attackers scared of being rked like, idk, stuff like offensive deo. so ye) ?

what I mean is that the examples you mentioned, enam and ghold, are imo pretty misleading because 1. enam: i don't think kingambit is rly stopping it from playing openly cuz it's faster and sucker resistant 2. Ghold, if running scarf or no fighting coverage isn't the best mon vs even burned gambit. if it's running np fb tho yea it does open up the game for it so yeah u can specify the ghold. u could argue these examples are not bad perse (like enam eating an ihead) but i believe we should mention more relevant ones that directly benefit from a burned gambit

(qc adjacent - makes it a long clearer you're suggesting a new move instead of it being an afterthought) Heavy-Duty Boots is a must-have for Volcarona in order to cover for its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. 152 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Great Tusk and Gholdengo as well as Zamazenta and Dragapult after a boost from Quiver Dance, while the remaining EVs are invested into HP and defense Defense to make Volcarona bulky enough to survive more attacks from Pokemon like Raging Bolt, Enamorus, and Meowscarada that it otherwise wouldn’t have couldn't (tenses).

Volcarona’s ability to set up and sweep is always useful for helping any (redundant with always) teams make progress, but bulky Volcarona specifically is able to help its team by checking physical attacks attackers (i assume? you cant check an attack; you could do
switch into physical attacks' if thats what you meant)
throughout the game. Flame Body can cripple attackers like Kingambit and Dragonite on the switch in (RC) and can threaten them to switch out force them out from fear of being burned. This opens up teammates like Kyurem and Walking Wake to play more openly ("aggressively"? reusing open) (agree yeah and 'play more openly' isnt super clear). Hazard Entry hazard setters like Glimmora and Great Tusk also appreciate Volcarona's ability to threaten Pokemon that try to use Rapid Spin with a burn. Screen Dual screen setters like Deoxys-S and Alolan Ninetales are able to boost Volcarona's defensives defenses significantly, giving it more opportunities to set up and sweep. Volcarona is also useful on Sun sun teams, supporting Pokemon like Roaring Moon and Walking Wake with boosted Fire-type attacks as well as helping defensively against Rain rain teams with Tera Water (RC) and allowing you to pick picking off Deoxys-s Deoxys-S and Iron Valiant with Sun-boosted a sun-boosted Flamethrower. Volcarona is unable to make progress against special walls like Clodsire and Blissey; a Pokemon like Gholdengo is (this sentence is entirely specific to ghold, a saying 'a pokemon like' doesn't really work if tehre arent other examples that do similar things) able to assist with Psyshock and immunity to moves like Toxic and Thunder Wave. Powerful physical cleaners like Weavile and Choice Banded Meowscara Band Meowscarada are also useful for this purpose (RC) and synergize well with Volcarona. Other Unaware walls like Dondozo are also unaffected by Volcarona’s sweeping potential; wearing these threats down with hazards from Pokemon like Gliscor or and Hisuian Samurott (RC) is extremely important in helping Volcarona sweep late-game (AH). (qc - do you wanna mention knock somewhere? how meow/weav can knock dozo is good bc otherwise it doesn't actually get worn down by hazards. hsam having knock helps too) Without Terastalizing Terastallizing, Volcarona is extremely vulnerable to Rock-type attacks from faster Pokemon, such as Iron Boulder and Landorus-T. Having some bulky Pokemon that cover this weakness, like Ting-Lu, Great Tusk, and Iron Treads, as well as Rillaboom with the passive recovery from Grassy Terrain, can support Volcarona throughout the game. (qc - this point isn't super needed; lando doesnt run rock moves on any of the onsite sets, and the point is just pretty type charty overall "run a rock resist for rock moves" when in practice people don't build to speccifically cover that. treads also sint a boulder check bc they run eq/cc and its definitely not a lando check. feel free to mention rilla elsewhere tho) Galarian Slowking is particularly difficult for Volcarona to deal with, especially if it's running Tera Fairy; powerful Pokemon that match up well against it like Kingambit, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite are important to chip it down and force it out.

The occasional special attack Special Attack raises provided by Fiery Dance can add to Volcarona’s boosts and increase its sweeping potential, while Flamethrower is a more consistent and powerful alternative with more PP to assist in the long run. Tera Blast can be used as a surprise coverage move after Terastilizing Terastallizing, but can also be used as a neutral move before Terastilizing Terastallizing for Fire resists Fire-resistant Pokemon such as Gouging Fire. Tera Dragon gives Volcarona several powerful resistances, such as to Water, (AC) which helps against Barraskewda and Rain rain, (AC) and Fire, (AC) which helps against Cinderace and opposing Volcarona, and Volcarona; it also gives it a Tera Blast that can hit most Pokemon neutrally and threatens Dragon-types like Kyurem, Dragonite, and Gouging Fire. Tera Fairy, in addition to being a solid defensive typing which provides the aforementioned super-effective hit against that also threatens (no super effective hit aforementioned, talking about threat) Dragon-types, gives Volcarona a Dragon immunity to avoid attacks from Dragapult and Raging Bolt as well as resisting and resist Sucker Punch from Kingambit, and as well as a way to solidly damage Ting-Lu (swapped "and" and "as well as" to maintain the differentiated structure without repetition). Tera Water is a solid defensive typing (rephrase? just used the exact same description) that gives Volcarona a threatening hit attack against the likes of Heatran and opposing Volcarona (RC) and a strong matchup against Rain rain teams. Alternative Tera options are Ground, (AC) to better improve the matchup against Fire-types like Heatran and Poison-types like Clodsire, Toxapex, and Galarian Slowking and give it an immunity to Thunder Wave, and Grass that Grass, which is strong against bulky Water-types like Primarina and Hisuian Samurott with and uses Giga Drain for added longevity.
