What is the bug?

Turn 5, Gliscor uses earthquake, which triggers my Ripen Appletun holding a Jaboca berry. The Gliscor takes damage as normal.
Turn 6, I recycle the berry. No one touches the appletun.
Turn 7, Gliscor uses EQ and nothing happens.
Why did jaboca only happen once? The condition for contact doesn't matter for this berry
Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Have not seen it happen before. Jaboca recycle has always worked on non-contact physical moves before.
