The format for BSPL VIII is the following:

Teams will have a budget of 80k auction credits and have to draft at least 8 players. (6 starters and 2 substitutes)

The auction will take place on Saturday, August 12th at 11AM GMT-4. Player signups will close 24 hours before the auction.

Ferenia was banned for reasons unrelated to BSSPL VIII. As a result, Ferenia will no longer be able to represent the Pink Powerhouse as a manager. ElectricityCat will instead be managing the Pink Powerhouse alongside Irene-2002 going forward.

Z strats was banned for reasons unrelated to BSSPL VIII. As a result, Z strats will no longer be able to represent the Dave's Dragonairs as a manager. BlackKnight_Gawain will instead be managing the Dave's Dragonairs alongside Stone Cold going forward.

re: yokoisop vs DragonWhale

DragonWhale and yokoisop scheduled for Monday at 1am GMT+9. While DragonWhale was on at the scheduled time, the opposing managers were not tagged prior to DragonWhale having to leave and an activity call being made roughly 30 minutes later. This does not fulfill the requirements for an activity win, as it is necessary to give the opponents a chance to find their player and/or provide a substitute.

Following this, DragonWhale provided to the opposing managers a list of times that they would be available prior to the deadline in order to try and reschedule. The requirements for an activity win in cases where there is no longer a scheduled time are that the period of time be at least 1 hour long and be given to the opposing team at least 30 minutes in advance. DragonWhale's availability prior to the deadline fulfilled this, and neither yokoisop nor a substitute was provided, and the Rustboro Rocky Helmets declined to dispute the activity win request after being unable to locate yokoisop.

As a result, DragonWhale is granted the activity win.

The Teal Mask DLC released this week; however, all formats will be locked to their pre-DLC states for the remainder of the tournament (rest of Week Five, Semifinals, and Finals). A legacy format should be made available for you to play your games in once the lovely developers have time to do so.
