Breeding Issues

Topics are simply going far too fast on Gamefaqs for me to even think of asking this question there.

I'm breeding a (currently) level 20 Relaxed female Spiritomb (Everstone) with a (currently) level 32 male Misdreavus with Pain Split, yet none of the offspring are learning this move. Why is that? I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

What moves DO the offspring have?

Make sure that Misdreavus didn't delete Pain Split when it leveled up in DayCare.

That was only a problem in GSC. In RSE (and hopefully DP), it only deletes the moves off the list after you take them back from the Daycare folks. It keeps the moveset you left it with for breeding purposes until you get it back.

I've had this happen. My Lv5 totodile somehow gave it's offspring Crunch, a move it learns at lv20+.

That's because Crunch is on its bred move list.
