Pros:
-Interesting ability give it a third STAB on Rock-type moves
-Great support movepool, featuring Stealth Rock, Knock Off, Taunt, Foul Play
-Good offensive movepool, with good enough coverage in Drill Run
-Reliable recovery in Roost
-Priority in Sucker Punch
-Dark typing lets it ignore annoying Prankster users like Morgrem, Klefki, or Sableye when setting up SR

Cons:
-Crucially missing Defog for support
-Attack is still only ok, no Swords Dance to try and patch it up
-Bulk still isn't all that good, don't let it take too many hits. Lead holds up a bit better with HP investment but don't get too comfy
-Still liable to get outsped
-4MSS still prevalent, so many good moves but so little slots

Terastylizing Potential:
-If you're leading with this Tera still isn't really the way to go but if you want to Steel makes Hatterene less likely to get in your way or just use Dark to keep prankster immunity and not lose to Froslass
-On offensive sets, now that we're working with a lower power level, choice sets can use it a little more effectively, Ground is a great go-to as with Dark/Flying/Ground you have perfect coverage and smacks around stuff like Tinkaton, Bisharp, or Sandy Shocks on the switch
-Use Dark to remove your SR weakness and give your Sucker Punches much more of a sting
-Rock, interestingly enough, gives you a 2.25x increase in power because the initial boost to rock type moves is from ability rather than typing, but this lets in a LOT of Fighting types for free so you're gonna want to run Brave Bird in the back to smack 'em hard

Potential Sets:
Lead
Bombirdier @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Big Pecks
Tera Type: Steel/Dark
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off/Brave Bird
- Roost
- U-turn/Memento/Parting Shot

Leveraging the nice stuff Bombirdier gets gives us a good lead set. Anything that comes in on the Stealth Rock is liable to lose their item via Knock Off. Brave Bird can be used instead if you really want Toedscruel to not come in at all or smack the many Fighting types in the tier. U-turn is generally preferred for if you want to try and reset rocks later or be a nusiance with knock/BB but Memento gives utility in the fact that it prevents Defog and Rapid Spin from working and gets in a team mate with a very soft cushion. Parting shot is the mix between the 2, you don't lose Bombirdier but you don't do any damage and Parting Shot can be blocked with Taunt.

Choice
Bombirdier @ Choice Band
Ability: Big Pecks/Rocky Payload
Tera Type: Dark/Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- U-turn/Drill Run

While 103 Attack still isn't anything to write home about, it can still sting when Bombirdier is equipped with a Choice Band. With so many moves at it's disposal it's kinda hard to actually pick out the right moves here, especially since you pretty much always want Knock Off for its utility and Sucker Punch to get the jump on any offensive threats that outspeed this like Gengar or Staraptor, and U-turn to preserve offensive momentum, but if you value the breaking power over momentum Drill Run is very good to catch mons like Naclstack, Tinkaton, or Iron Thorns off guard. Jolly is preferred so you always outspeed Slither Wing, non-Jolly Tinkaton, and Iron Thorns. Scarf can be used as well but the power loss is still rough, highly recommended you use U-turn with scarf on the last slot to dart in and out.

Additional Thoughts:

While UU is much more friendly, this mons still comes up a bit short on both power and speed, but the sheer versatility can make up for it, this thing's so blotted with moves your imagination's the limit. I still see it dropping down more tiers though.

Unless I'm mistaken and/or missing something, wouldn't Big Pecks be the preferred ability on any and all sets that don't make use of Rock STABs? Night Daze is the only commonly used move that lowers accuracy and Big Pecks allows Bombirdier to not suffer from Defense drops from resisted Crunch or the exceedingly rare non-lethal Liquidation.

It's obviously not much since it's still Big Pecks after all, but a minuscule benefit seems superior to none.

Bombirder faces a lot of competition with other flying types such as Staraptor and Iron Jugulis. It does has few attributes that are in its favor such as Rocky Payload, Memento, Sucker Punch and Stealth Rock. The set though that really sets it apart from the other is a bulkier Power Trip+Roost+Hone Claws. It needs substantial team support to pull off but can really snowball once.it gets going. Other than that it is subpar most of the time and you are better using something else.
