Welcome to the fourth week of BLT VIII! For this year's format, teams will be fighting in a round robin where every team will play every other team. At the end of the round robin, the top four teams will move on to the playoffs where the first seed will play the fourth seed and the second seed will play the third seed to determine who will be this year’s finalists. A win will be worth 2 points, a draw 1, and a loss 0. Obviously, play on PS! (preferably main or smogtours server). Series are played in a best-of-one.

Basic Tournament Rules - you absolutely should read this, especially if you're new to forum tournaments

Rules

Sportsmanship: Don't be an ass. Not to your opponents, not to your team, not on PS, not on Smogon, not to me. A bit of friendly banter is ok, but please know where to draw the line. Think before you type, pleas

Scheduling and Activity Wins: Contact your opponent as quickly as possible on their Smogon wall, and look out for them on PS. You will have one week from the posting of the week's matches to get it done, and I will not be granting any extensions for any reasons. If your opponent is not responding to your post on their wall, cannot be found on PS, or miss multiple scheduled times, make a detailed activity post in the thread letting me know why you deserve the win. No activity post means no activity call. As long as you have visible attempts at scheduling (such as wall posts), you will be f

Disconnections and Timer: A timer loss is a loss. No if's, and's, or but's about it. If your opponent is nice enough to replay that's fine, but they are by no means obligated

Ghosting and Identity: Don't take or give battle advice or make moves based solely on the suggestions of others, and don't pretend to be someone else in order to play as them. You will be caught, and you will be disqualified from this season as well as future PS! tournaments (BLT, PSPL, etc.

Substitutions: Managers are free to substitute out inactive players at any point during the week with any subs they chose during the draft. Be sure to post in the thread when making a substitute

taking this post to say that afaik, im the only player to have won with my teams mascot (munchlax), tho I could be terribly wrong lol

Just saying if im correct, mascots have a 100% win rate, so yall might wanna try to get on that and trust the plot armor

OU: Not Miyan (55) vs lotiasite (45): Both came off of quite interesting victories last week, I'll be bolding the side with better support in general
OU: halaman95 (40) vs Gray (60): I've heard that Gray isn't as motivated but as long as he doesn't get haxed hard this should be quite an easy win
UU: TMM (55) vs Axelsior (45): Both are solid players but I think TMM knows the tier more, quite an even matchup imo
RU: Mac3 (75) vs e~t~h~e~y (25): This looks free for mace
NU: Xiri (60) vs PokeArt2004♥ (40): Pokeart's got some very nice wins vs roxiee and daniYSB but Xiri also has been doing well

Blitz Predicts:
Laprases (5) Vs Poochyenas (6)
Laprases are coming off of a hot week defeating the best team in the tour. However, their Week 1 and Week 2 performances left much to be desired. On the other hand, the Pooches also just rebounded from a 9-1 walloping to get a nice win last week. The Pooches are bolded here because it seems like most of their tiers just slightly edge out the Laprases; they also beat their mutual opponent, the Snorlaxes, while the laprases lost, but this is sure to be a close match for two teams that can only go up from here.

No shot.
Snorlaxes (3) Vs Roserades (5)
After a miraculous comeback to tie Week 1 against yours truly, the Laxes had a nice win against the Laprases but then faltered against the Pooches last week. While the laxes have a solid core, a lot of their weak slots look lost and their strong slots look like toss-ups. It looks pretty difficult for the snorlaxes to rebound from a disappointing Week 3 loss against one of the teams with the lowest differential.
Munchlax (4) Vs. Articunos (5)
This matchup also looks pretty close. These are two of the stronger teams in the tour, but overall it seems like the Articunos simply prep better. If RKD brings el fuego again and Gum messes up scheduling, the Articunos have got this.

When the Pittsburg team reached halfway through their inaugural season, they introduced Pete, the Ecuadorian penguin as their mascot. Allegedly, the team executives had a dream to make Pete learn how to stake but unfortunately, he caught pneumonia and the team had to return him to the zoo. He died shortly thereafter. That story hits home.

After careful investigation it was actually the fault of Phantomistix, no one wanted to give into the senseless badgering and give him what he wanted so lkap vs lugia didn't happen.

Celestic Town Celesteelas (5) vs Turffield Turtwigs (5)

Ubers: saba1111 vs Blimax - Hype match. Both of these players are really good as seen in the past, but I think Blimax should have the edge here because they have the better grasp on ubers, although saba winning wouldn't surprise me either.
OU: Stareal vs myjava - Star may be coming off a loss but I think he's still the better ou player and player overall. I wouldn't sleep on myjava but I think stareal will be the real star of this matchup and win.
OU: Pradhaaan vs Harshal_08 - Harshal is a decent player overall and has had some good wins, and I know this may come off as harsh, but Prad is an extremely good ou main and player who I think should take this without much trouble. Sorry for being harsh, harshal.
UU: avarice vs TeamCharm - Charm played and won before I could even think about this, before I started writing the predicts, before I even knew who he was facing. He literally played less than 20 mins after the thread went up so idk.
RU: TheFranklin vs Wubben - Ru goat arce9 has been smashing through the competition harder than a banded tyrantrum's head smash and is showing no sign of any recoil. I've mostly only seen Wubben play in room tours and they're alright, but "alright" can't quell the unstoppable tyrantrum that is arce9. Arce9 should have this.
NU: Crow Music vs 100%GXE - I've heard this musical crow is actually good at nu, but as a player, there is a reason gxe is called 100%GXE. Gxe is a very goated player who can play any tier quite well, so I'm giving this to gxe.
PU: Splash vs Maki - I have no idea why Maki is being slotted here. Splash is a great player overall and does play some pu, as well as having some support for it, whereas Maki... I have legit never seen play pu, ever. Maki is a good player overall but due to the aforementioned reasons, I think splash wins here. Though Maki could put up a good fight.
LC: Fille vs Serene Grace - HL MATCH. This honestly may be the biggest hl match this week for me personally. Fille finally gets slotted in lc, and against serene, the timing is perfect in terms of hype. Anyways, this is extremely close. Both are extremely great lc players with a lot of history playing the tier. If I had to pick one, I'd say serene by a hair, but I doubt this victory will be graceful because this is honestly a tossup and should be very close.
DOU: Crunchman vs mammalu - This crunchy lad is a bit of a dou goat, ngl. Crunchman has had a pretty good showing so far, proving themselves a great dou player, whereas mammalu has played only 1 game and that didn't go well at all. Giving it to crunchman.
Monotype: giove97 vs Decem - ...I am so sorry giove. Decem is a great player overall in a multitude of tiers, especially being known for mono. Again, I'm sorry gi, my friend, but Decem should have this with little room for doubt, bur I wanna see you try your best, ok?

Anyways, this should be close as The 2nd Overweight Warrior has had a lot of success in ubers recently with great showings, whereas reje has years of experience with the tier, also having good showings for the most part. This should be close and I could see it going either way but I think experience wins out here, as in I think reje has this.
OU: Failures vs Baloor - Apparently this is micoy's dream match. This looks like another close one. Both are good ou players and I think piro may have the edge when it comes to support, but I think baloor might be a bit better in terms of ou prowess. Could easily see it going either way but giving the slight edge to baloor. Also, this should be fun.
OU: Roginald vs Hockey1 - This feels like a bit of a tossup. Both are good ou players who haven't had the best showings so far. But based on what I've seen, and on previous knowledge, I'll pick roginald here.
UU: Mygrein vs mets3569 - So apparently mets is actually a good uu player from what I recently found out, despite being pretty new to smogon. This could end up being a good game, but I think Mygrein has more experience and probably more tier knowledge as well, so I think Mygrein should win, while mets will end up with a mygrein headache.
RU: EternalSnowman vs Kyotoshi - Hl match. Both great players, but I feel the victor here is clear. Both are good in ru and are great players overall but the Not-So-Eternal-Snowman hasn't had any real good showings so far, still being winless. While Kyotoshi is currently undefeated in ru with great showings all around. With that being said, also because I think they're the better player here, Kyotoshi wins while esm continues to melt.
NU: daniYSB vs Ninja - This is an interesting match. Dani is a very goated nu player despite the currently negative record, while Ninja has gotten some interesting wins, and has def shown they can play nu. Overall though, dani has gotten the tougher opponents (not to pat myself on the back) and I've been more impressed with what I've seen from them than ninja. Dani should win but things could get interesting if ninja brings another weird set like that goodra last week.
PU: Z Strats vs Sificon - Interesting how sifi is in pu. Now both are good players overall but since sifi is more of a uu player, and Z Strats has been killing it in this tier, I think Z Strats will keep up the momentum and stay undefeated.
LC: BigBoy038 vs kythr - A bit of an hl. Bigboy is def a good lc player, and has years of experience as a player in general, but kythr is easily one of the greatest lc players this gen, while also being an absolutely goated player overall. Because of this, kythr should take it.
DOU: LightScreener vs Mishimono - Among all the good dou players in the pool, I feel its been somewhat hard for lightscreener to distinguish themselves. Mish has been dominating so far and I think they'll continue to do so. Comparing the two, I think mish is overall better. Sorry LightScreener but you're getting mished.
Monotype: rahul_3301 vs Kaguya Lys - I've seen rahul around tours room recently and they seem decent overall, whereas Kaguya is a solid mono main with plenty of experience, and for these reasons, I don't see Kaguya losing here.

Bayern Munchlax (8) vs Anistar Articunos (2)

Ubers: 7u9i2 vs Trade - 7u9i2 is miraculously undefeated and while this may be so, I think this undefeated streak is about to be traded away. Trade is just so goated.
OU: ToastedBunzzz02 vs lvl100Blaziken - Both are good players overall with not so good showings so far, but I think toastedbunz is the better player here, and after finally picking up a win last week, I expect he'll continue the newly born streak. The only one getting toasted here will be fragments. For once I bolded against you last week and you ended up winning toasted, so don't let me down when I'm bolding you again.
OU: Yugon vs crying - Both are good players overall and in ou who again, haven't had the best showings so far. Comparing the two in ou and in overall skill, I think inolife is better here and Yugon will be the only one crying.
UU: Expulso vs RoyalReloaded - The reloaded royal enjoyed a short win streak but I think that has come to an end, and will continue to do so this week. Expulso is an incredibly good player who's currently in grand slam playoffs and seems to have a lot more knowledge and experience in uu and lower tiers in general. For this reason, I think Expulso wins this.
RU: yovan33321 vs lkapkd1 - What could have been Lkap vs Lugia as the biggest hl match of the whole tour has been turned into yovan steamrolling lkap in ru. Yovan has been playing against some of the best ru players so winning here shouldn't be a challenge.
NU: roxiee vs Plas - This should be interesting. Plas and roxiee seem to be pretty even in terms of playing skill, plas might be a bit better. However, roxiee is still good and has the greater tier knowledge and experience. So, because of that, I'm picking roxiee but I wouldn't be surprised if plas wins.
PU: gum vs sirmrwhale - sirmrwhale, be he a sir, a mr, or a whale, is currently undefeated and while they have definitely beaten good players, said players were not established pu mains. Gum hasn't done great in blt so far, but they are still a solid pu main with a lot of experience, and against sirmrwhale, they should win because of that. Though I wouldn't be entirely surprised if sirmrwhale wins either, a fair amount of newer or less expensive players have been doing better than more valued ones, so I just have a hunch ...back whale.
LC: p4P1//0n vs Mikaav - This is an hl match and ngl, wesh still being undefeated in this stacked lc pool is impressive. I think most people would normally favor mikaav here, but wesh has been killing it, even beating SERENE GRACE last week. Mikaav is still a very well known and solid lc main, but I think pap is going to continue with the momentum. Of course there would be no surprise if mikaav wins.
DOU: Shadowmonstr7 vs RKD - Another bit of an hl match. Shadow and RKD both haven't had the greatest showings so far, but both are without a doubt solid dou mains of near equal skill. As I said near equal skill, I think shadow is just a bit better and I've seen more of them play, so I'm going with shadow but an upset is possible.
Monotype: Meta vs PrinceOfAllTacos - He may be the prince of all tacos, and he may be good at mono, but meta is currently 3-0 and just came off a win from Decem. Because of this, and also because I think meta is the better, more solid mono main, they should win vs taco royalty. Sorry poat.

yea for the record i tried getting the lkapd game. I was willing to play most tiers to accomadate. The opposing team weren't willing. Well at least we got a free win this week.
