Only epicdrill and the current referee should be posting in this thread.

Scenario: High-Rise Metropolis (T3)

Pokemon #1: Kaya the Heracross
Pokemon Ability: Guts
Pokemon Item: Flame Orb
Pokemon Attitude: Kaya really enjoys fighting, and is always looking for a new challenge.
Pokemon Background: Kaya grew up sparring with her siblings, and is convinced that a friendly fight is the best way to make new friends. Her desire for interesting battles led her to practice tracking down pokemon that she thought would give her a good fight.

Pokemon #2: Abigail the Tyranitar
Pokemon Ability: Sand Stream
Pokemon Item: Weakness Policy
Pokemon Attitude: Abigail likes being alone and doing things on her own, or with one or two others she knows well. Despite her appearance, she tends to be shy talking to people and pokemon she doesn't know.
Pokemon Background: While Abigail enjoys the occasional battle, she's not as interested in them as many pokemon are. Growing up, she was much more interested in painting, writing, and music, and now she spends most of her free time either writing or sculpting things.

Ah, Goldenrod City. The largest in all of Johto. As you enter through the south gate, you glance longingly at the Game Corner, wishing you could just ignore the rest of the world and flip some Voltorb. But sadly, you are here on a mission today. After that debacle at the Radio Tower, the city has been on high alert for suspicious activity, and yesterday multiple Rocket goons were spotted, both on the peninsula containing the Global Trade Station and inside the building itself! You don't know what they're up to, but it can't possibly be good, and you need to put a stop to it.

Goldenrod City is a lot larger than the map makes it look, and you quickly realize that if you try to walk from your starting point to the peninsula, it'll take hours that you can't afford to spare. Fortunately, there are lots of Magnet Train stations across the city, and you've just reached one on the same line as the GTS! Less fortunately, it seems like the Magnet Train has increased its fares recently, and you don't actually have enough money to buy a ticket. There's lots of passersby, however, and you're sure that if you put on an interesting enough performance some of them will drop money into your hat.

How will you entertain the crowd to get the ticket money you need?

Oh no, we don't have enough money for our train tickets! How are we going to get some?

:ss/tyranitar:
(Quietly) I could make some sculptures if you're willing to sell those, but I don't have any clay around here.

:ss/heracross:
I can make some clay! Let's sell some sculptures!

Kaya will use Rock Tomb to make some rocks, and then Rock Smash to pound them down into clay.
Abigail will use Aqua Tail on the clay to make it wet, sculpt it into various sculptures of pokemon, either standing or fighting, and then cure it with a carefully-applied combination of Flamethrower and Incinerate.
Kaya and I will then sell those sculptures to get money, while Abigail tries to hide behind us (it doesn't work very well, she's a bit big for that).

Your Pokemon get to work making clay and baking it into sculptures, and before you know it you have a crowd of people wanting to buy them! You sell all that you made, apologize profusely to the people who still wanted to buy more after you sold out, and buy your Magnet Train ticket with enough money left over to buy yourself a nice dinner after this business is over.

Success! +2 TC

When your train arrives at the GTS, you disembark and emerge at the street level, only to see the place swarming with even more Rocket Grunts than you expected, and not nearly enough normal citizens to let you blend in. You manage to hear snippets of conversation about a machine they apparently have under the water's surface just off the peninsula, but as you approach closer to hear more one of the grunts turns and notices you!

"Hey! We've got a busybody over here, I'll deal with her and the rest of you go inside, we're done out here anyway. Greninja @ Rage Candy Bar, attack!"

"And stay our of our business! Your kind isn't wanted here!"

Grunt runs into the GTS building, locking the door behind her, and with both of your Pokemon KOed you can't follow her in. Dejected, you head to the nearest Pokemon Center to heal your team. As you leave, you notice that the water around the peninsula looks much more gross than it did before. Was this Team Rocket's plan? Why would they suddenly become Captain Planet villains?

Your question is answered when a Suicune shows up, working its magic and purifying the water again. It's so intent on its job that it doesn't notice the Team Rocket member sneaking up behind it with a Master Ball! You gasp in alarm, but before you have a chance to do anything, a strange man in a purple coat rolls in on top of an Electrode, smashing into the Rocket and causing enough of a commotion that Suicune turns to look. The magnificent beast flees across the surface of the water, and that seems to be the end of that.

You find a local restaurant and buy that nice dinner, and by the end of the meal the good food has lifted all your spirits significantly. Sure, you weren't able to stop the Rockets on your own, but they didn't capture the legend that they were after and you were able to eat a delicious meal! And hey, maybe you'll even stick around long enough to play for a while at the Game Corner before you continue on your journey.

Scenario: High-Rise Metropolis, Tier 3

You arrive at the edge of the buzzing metropolis, in awe at the size of the buildings compared to your town. If the buildings at the edge are this impressive, then you can only imagine what the buildings in the center will be like. But you can't let yourself get distracted by the architecture; you're here to put an end to the antics of a wanted criminal. While you're unsure of their appearance, you've received some valuable info about their location. They operate out of a building near the center of the metropolis. To get there, you decide to take the subway, which has trains running regularly throughout the day.

You walk down the subway steps and purchase a ticket for yourself. Luckily for your wallet, Pokemon ride for free. You quickly notice that something is wrong, though. The station is empty. There are no others waiting for a train to arrive. Considering you arrived at the start of the day, when many people would be commuting to work, you find this suspicious. Despite your suspicion, you're still unsure is something is up or if it's just an odd coincidence, so you wait a little while for your train to arrive. It doesn't. Eventually, however, another person joins you, but not from the steps. They emerged from a previously locked door within the station. A worker's entrance. The man is wearing an outfit like one you'd might expect from a construction worker of some kind, so you decide that he might know what is wrong with the trains. You approach him and ask your question, but he doesn't answer. You keep pressing him. No response. You take note of the Pokeballs on his belt, so you know violent force won't be an option.

epicdrill, how do you question the train worker to give you information?

Excuse me, sir, could you please let us know what the issue with the trains is?

Sir? Please?

:ss/heracross:
(whispering to me) Abigail and I can try to talk to him.

:ss/tyranitar:
Please don't make me talk to people, talking to people is scary.

:ss/heracross:
It'll be fine, I'll get his attention and then you can ask him.

:ss/tyranitar:
(grumbles) Okay, fine.

Kaya the Heracross will then use Captivate to get the train worker's attention, and Abigail the Tyranitar will use Confide to explain what we're doing and ask what the issue with the train is.

You have Kaya and Abigail approach the worker. He turns to look at them, and instinctively reaches to his belt for his own Pokemon. Before he is able to send one out though, Kaya (known for being quite the horny Pokemon ... haha ... haha ... ) does her best flirty pose and face, and the worker definitely notices.

"My my, what a fine looking Heracross. You look like you've been trained very well."

That's when Abigail walks up and whispers the situation into the worker's ear. Still distracted by Kaya, the worker lets some information slip.

"The boss had us workers stop all rail access to the city. Says it's part of her big plan. It really bugs me though, I don't know what his plan is. I guess she's the master technician though, so I trust her."

Success: +2 TC

"..."

"Shit, I've said too much! Drat, I guess I'll have to stop you now! Tell you what, if you beat me, I'll let you into the city, just don't tell the boss about me."

You are challenged by the Train Worker!
