Barboach (Skeleton)

Barboach

[Overview]
- Can Dragon Dance
- Good STABs
- Needs set-up to be a threat

[Set 1]
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Waterfall / Aqua Tail
move 4: Return / Bounce
item: Eviolite / Life Orb
ability: Anticipation
nature: Jolly / Adamant
evs: 36 HP / 212 Atk / 12 Def / 28 SDef / 196 Spd

[Set Comments]

- It's STABs give it some usefulness over Scraggy, Axew, and Dratini
- Spark is illegal with Dragon Dance
- Barboach is glad to see Vulpix go, and with it Chlorophyllers
- Has trouble breaking through sturdy walls like Ferroseed, Frillish, and Slowpoke, without multiple boosts

[Additional Comments]

- Aqua Tail can be used over Waterfall, but the loss of accuracy and flinch chance isn't really worth the slight power increase
- Needs Spikes and Stealth Rock support to be effective
- Needs to be paired with something that can beat Ferroseed, such as Magnemite or Houndour
- Appreciates Dual Screen support

[Other Options]

- Could use Oran Berry over Eviolite or Life Orb
- Could slap together a Choice Band set, though it's entirely outclassed
- Can use Toxic to help break through bulky waters
- Hydration could be combined with Rest, but Rain is a poor choice in LC
- Could run a special attacking set with Hydro Pump / Earth Power / Ice Beam

[Checks and Counters]

- Ferroseed
- Frillish, Slowpoke, Misdreavus, basically anything bulky that can Burn it
- Just about any Grass-type, notably Snover, wall it without Bounce
- Wooper with Unaware can take anything Barboach can dish out and not care

You really need to expand on this analysis. Trust me, everyone tells me that(literally). Maybe say that Ferroseed walls Barboach because of its typing and can easily set up?

No mention of Hydrarest at all? Even though it's slashed as the first option?

Which, by the way, it shouldn't be. Rain is pretty bad in LC. And Barboach loves Bounce to hit Snover and other grass-types.

Gets good synergy with Magnemite, who kills Ferroseed while you kill Fire-types.

Houndour also laughs at Ferroseed, and resists Grass too.

Dual Screen support is welcome. Bronzor and Exeggcute are good options for their Ground-resistery.

Slash Aqual Tail.

Mention Amnesia.

Toxic maims bulky waters and other things that aren't immune to it (ferro).

Barboach has a half-decent special set, with access to Hydro Pump and STAB Earth Power, it's fairly unique.

Snover wrecks it without Bounce.

Wooper laughs at it with Unaware and Counters while recovering any damage.

This is just a skeleton. Once it gets approved, I'll expand on the writing

Thanks for the input. I've edited the OP, though I left out Amnesia, as it doesn't really seem worth it

Mention some Pokemon that can deal with some of the counters you mentioned in AC. Maybe Chinchou for Frillish and Slowpoke and Stunky or Scraggy for Misdreavus.

Mention some Dual Screeners too, Darkamber mentioned some good ones.

Ferroseed is actually a good teammate as it can set up entry hazards and resists Grass.

Also mention Hidden Power Fire where you mention special attacks just because it hits Ferroseed way harder than anything else.
