Pheromosa has one job on most teams: be the fastest thing on the field and fire off very strong U-turn. This allows it to both force out dangerous offensive threats and grab momentum at the same time. Sword of Ruin kicks up Pheromosa's power and makes it a decent supporting wallbreaker for an ally like Mega Mewtwo X or Kartana. Glacial Lance chunks Dragon-types like Eternatus and Giratina for solid damage. Knock Off cuts into the longevity of most physical walls by removing their Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots, making it easier for an ally to pick them off; in addition, removing Covert Cloak can pave the way for Lumina Crash users like Mega Mewtwo X. Pheromosa's best fit is on offense teams that are looking for a reliable way of scaring out fast threats that Imposter isn't very reliable into, like Ultra Necrozma and Ash-Greninja. Pheromosa lacks the power to beat Fur Coat users by itself, so another physical wallbreaker like Kartana, Mega Mewtwo X, or Mega Garchomp is mandatory for it to be useful. Imposter-proof Pheromosa with bulky physical walls that don't mind Knock Off, like Fur Coat Earth Plate Arceus-Poison.
