Hi, welcome to Smogon! This is the Create-A-Pokemon forum, so your question is better asked elsewhere. For future reference, check out the OU forum if you want to know if your Pokemon are viable. As for your question, Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Leech Seed are all egg moves on Ferrothorn so there's no way to get them without breeding. You'll have to breed those moves onto a future Ferrothorn, but you can't get them on the one you have now. Sorry.Hey Im new to raising pokemon for competative play I have a ferrothorn I trained with maxed hp and def evs but I didnt give it any moves like stealth rock, spikes, or leech seed so I was wondering is it worthless?
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't a Pokémon have to be the first stage in an evolutionary line to be eligible for Little Cup? That is, Pokémon that don't evolve can't get in. So a CAP for Little Cup would have to be something's pre-evo - either the pre-evo of an existing CAP or an official GF Pokémon. This severely limits possibilities for movepools and stat spreads, making an LC CAP rather difficult to design.Short answer: no
Longer answer: The point of the CAP Project is really to design Pokemon to test concepts for new niches in the OU metagame, whereas the pre-evos are just fun little side-projects with no real underlying concept beyond what makes sense from a flavour perspective. In this case, we had already designed them casually for fun, we're only just now trying to officialise them, purely for the fun of it (and I guess for sake of CAP ASB, but I don't know much about that). Will they ever be implemented on Pokemon Showdown? Probably not, unless there are huge calls for it or something; the only thing it would really accomplish though would be to annoy more people in random battles. Will we ever make a CAP specifically designed for Little Cup instead of OU? Hard to say, I mean it's a possibility if the PRC decided it would be worth while, and many people do seem to think it would be interesting, but Little Cup has comparatively a lot less support for it and fewer people know the metagame than would be ideal for a Project that is trying to maximise community participation; if you're interested I recommend reading the PRC threads on the subject.
Not really. In the same way that one makes a pre-evolution for a CAP after it is designed for sake of flavour, one could just as easily construct an evolution of the Little Cup CAP in the same way - purely on the grounds of flavour. There's no requirement that it be linked to an existing Pokemon at all.Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't a Pokémon have to be the first stage in an evolutionary line to be eligible for Little Cup? It can be quite hard to take in all the information at once, and there's a lot to summarise, but essentially the CAP Project is a community-led project where we create a new Pokemon from scratch in a step-by-step process, based around an idea for a niche in the OU metagame (a "concept") and designed to help answer questions relating to that concept and its function. For example, if we decided to make a Pokemon based around the concept "universal dragon counter", we might suggest typings such as Steel/Fairy or Pure Fairy, and then go on to suggest abilities, stats, and finally movepools, while simultaneously deciding on names, art, sprites, that sort of thing. Each decision is accompanied by a community discussion and public vote with the options up for voting chosen by the leader for that section.I don't mean to sound stupid.., but can someone give me a brief summarisation of the CAP project?
We have never considered creating new items, nor do we ever plan on doing so. There was a time where custom abilities and moves were created within individual projects, but nowadays the CAP Project is strongly opposed to altering or circumventing GameFreak's mechanics in this way.Really didn't know where to put this, but has the forum ever considering creating items as well? Each generation brings up some interesting new ones and I had an interesting thought for an item. Don't have a name for it or anything, but what about an item that grants a pokemon a 5th moveslot, at the cost of 1/8th HP each turn? Maybe something like Cursed Scroll? I was just thinking about it because I always hear the 4MSS that people talk about with pokemon, and thought it would interesting to have an item to help alleviate that.
During CAPs and CAP Pre-Evolutions, there will be a thread that opens up called "Art Submissions". This thread will open after the CAP's or Pre-Evolution's Typing Polls, which is rather early in the process. While the Art Submission thread is open, you can post commentary, work-in-progress (WIP) artwork, and a Final Submission. The Art Submission thread looks like this (found in the Process OP Repository in the Policy review forum). You can read all of the specific rules in that post.Where can I find the process for submitting art to the CAP project? I'd like to participate in this part of the next CAP in particular, and am wondering if there is a certain process or requirements I need to be aware of when the time comes.
At the moment, that's not up for discussion.I notice a current discussion as to whether the project would ever create a CAP with a Mega-evolution. Has the anybody considered and/or discussed the possibility of giving a Mega-evolution to a currently existing Pokemon that doesn't have one?
