Aromatisse @ Fairium Z / Life Orb
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Moonblast
- Nasty Plot / Psychic
- Hidden Power Ground

During its four-day stint in PU, Aromatisse immediately stood out as a problematic top-tier threat. While its stats, excellent support movepool, and ability might normally lend it to more defensive sets, it was its offensive set that really pushed Aromatisse over the edge. With Ferroseed rising to NU in the same shift that Aromatisse fell, PU experienced a drought of sturdy Fairy resists, and Aromatisse's shallow movepool still was just wide enough to handle the few Pokemon capable of tanking its Moonblasts such as Weezing and Probopass. Aromatisse's checks were so limited and so easy to outspeed and KO once Trick Room was set up that teams were forced to resort to rare and mediocre defensive checks such as Metang or simply run their own, lower-leveled Aromatisse to outspeed opposing Aromatisse under Trick Room. Its presence was incredibly jarring, upsetting a tier whose most threatening Fairy-type before the shift was Clefairy with its Aggron-level Special Attack stat. Although its defensive sets were fairly strong but overall balanced, Aromatisse was voted out by the council less than a week after it was introduced to the tier due to the sheer power of its Trick Room sweeping.

most of these are just to reduce char count (got it down to 1003), if there's any stuff you want and are allowed to keep then go for it obv, not sure how the fact that this is not an entirely standard spotlight interacts with the char limit

During its four-day stint in PU, Aromatisse immediately stood out as a problematic top-tier threat. While its stats, excellent support movepool, (AC) and ability might normally lend it to more defensive sets, and these were certainly viable, (char count) it was its offensive set which that really pushed Aromatisse over the edge. With Ferroseed rising to NU in the same shift that Aromatisse fell, PU experienced a drought of sturdy Fairy resists, and Aromatisse's shallow movepool still managed to be was (char count) just wide enough to include coverage moves to handle the few Pokemon capable of tanking its Moonblasts such as Weezing and Probopass. Similar to when Cofagrigus was banned from NU, (also char count down a bit, feel free to keep if p squared lets you) Aromatisse's checks were so limited (RC) and so easy to outspeed and KO once Trick Room was set up (RC) that teams were either forced to resort to rare and mediocre defensive checks such as Metang or simply running their own, lower-leveled (AH) Aromatisse to outspeed opposing Aromatisse under Trick Room.
