All right, here's a Darkrai analysis (approved by Joshz). Go nuts.

OVERVIEW
In a metagame where Sleep Clause does not exist, Darkrai finds itself in a position to succeed. Its signature move, Dark Void, has decent accuracy for a sleep inducing move and, unlike Spore, no type is immune to it. Along with its signature ability, Bad Dreams, it can whittle down opposing Pokemon while they are unable to do anything. Darkrai is no slouch offensively either, sporting excellent Special Attack and Speed stats, as well as Nasty Plot to boost its STAB Dark Pulse. Unfortunately, Darkrai, being a Dark-type, struggles against common Fairy-types such as Xerneas, Klefki, and Fairy Arceus. It's also frail, and as a result, fairly prone to being revenge killed. Still, there's no denying Darkrai has a major impact on the Anything Goes metagame.

SET
name: Dark Void + Nasty Plot
move 1: Dark Void
move 2: Nasty Plot
move 3: Dark Pulse
move 4: Focus Blast / Sludge Bomb / Thunder
item: Life Orb
ability: Bad Dreams
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

SET COMMENTS
Moves
========
Dark Void and Nasty Plot are crucial to Darkrai's success. Dark Pulse is a reliable STAB move that comes off Darkrai's base 135 Special Attack, and hits things like Mewtwo, Gengar, the Giratina forms, and Lugia. The fourth slot is up to your team's need. Focus Blast lets Darkrai do some respectable damage to Klefki and other Darkrai, Sludge Bomb gives it a chance against other Fairy-types such as Xerneas, and Thunder allows it to strike down Kyogre and Ho-Oh.

Set Details
========
Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment are mandatory, as those are Darkrai's most effective stats. A Timid nature is preferred over Modest so Darkrai can outspeed Arceus, Mega Rayquaza, and others. Life Orb is the better item, complementing Darkrai's offensive prowess quite nicely.

Usage Tips
========
Don't be shy about using Dark Void early and often, since Sleep Clause does not exist. Nasty Plot should be used a bit more conservatively, however, as setting up is rather pointless if something that can easily KO Darkrai back is waiting in the wings. Make sure what you're setting up on can't hurt Darkrai back, or is asleep.

Team Options
========
Since most Pokemon enjoy having their checks and counters put to sleep, Darkrai can aid nearly any sweeper. Its ability to defeat the likes of Giratina and Lugia can also make things easier for Extreme Killer Arceus, for example, as it enjoys having those two Pokemon gone. If Darkrai is your main win condition, having ways to deal with specially defensive threats and Fairy-types is essential, making Pokemon such as Rock Arceus, Mega Rayquaza, and Steel Arceus good teammates as well.

SET
name: Substitute
move 1: Dark Void
move 2: Substitute
move 3: Dark Pulse
move 4: Nasty Plot / Focus Blast / Sludge Bomb / Thunder
item: Life Orb / Leftovers
ability: Bad Dreams
nature: Timid
evs: 8 HP / 248 SpA / 252 Spe

SET COMMENTS
Moves
========
Substitute helps Darkrai against status move spammers, particularly Klefki. Dark Void and Dark Pulse are musts on any Darkrai set. Unfortunately, Darkrai cannot run both Nasty Plot and coverage on this set, so it has to choose.

Set Details
========
As always, maximum Special Attack and Speed investment are mandatory, as those are Darkrai's most effective stats. A Timid nature is preferred over Modest so Darkrai can outspeed Arceus, Mega Rayquaza, and others. 8 HP gives an HP number that is a multiple of 4 minus 1, for ease in making Substitutes. Life Orb is still usable, but Leftovers allows for a little HP restoration, which works quite nicely with Substitute.

Usage Tips
========
Substitute is best used when predicting a switch, especially if the opponent is bringing in Klefki. Darkrai can then set up, use Dark Void, or attack safely.

Team Options
========
Most of the comments on the first set apply to this one as well.

STRATEGY COMMENTS
Other Options
=============
It may be tempting to use a physical attack such as Knock Off to lure in a would-be counter. However, it doesn't hit very hard coming off Darkrai's base 90 Attack, which is rather low in this metagame. Dream Eater and Nightmare have also seen some use alongside Dark Void, but they are generally outclassed by Darkrai's other moves, not to mention that they do absolutely nothing if the opposing Pokemon is not asleep. And please don't use Roar of Time.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Klefki**: Arguably the hardest counter Darkrai has, Klefki can get Substitute up to block Dark Void, paralyze it, and annoy it with Swagger, all while resisting Dark Pulse, being immune to Sludge Bomb, and only really fearing Focus Blast.

**Revenge Killers**: Darkrai is outsped and can be revenge killed by Mega Gengar, Shaymin-Sky, Deoxys-Attack, and the Mewtwo forms. Mega Rayquaza and Extreme Killer Arceus are able to use Extreme Speed to revenge it as well, and Lum Berry variants of the above can even set up on Darkrai. Blaziken can use Protect to get a free Speed increase and KO Darkrai with High Jump Kick.

**Special Walls**: Primal Kyogre and Ho-Oh can comfortably take multiple unboosted attacks bar Thunder and retaliate with powerful attacks of their own, but they dislike Dark Void.

**Fairy-types**: In addition to the aforementioned Klefki, Xerneas and Fairy Arceus can give Darkrai issues with their bulk and typing. Darkrai can actually beat Xerneas 1-on-1 if it has Sludge Bomb, but if Xerneas has gotten a Geomancy boost, Darkrai will not be able to prevail. Mega Diancie can also beat Darkrai, thanks to Magic Bounce reflecting Dark Void.
Hi, this looks like a good analysis! I have a few suggestions though:
  • I think the sets should be combined to something like Dark Void / Dark Pulse / [Nasty Plot / Focus Blast] / [Sludge Bomb / Thunder / Substitute] to make it a little shorter (and they really aren't that different, it's Void, Pulse, 2 filler basically). This might be just me though.
  • I'd add a mention of Primal Groudon in Team Options (especially of the first set if you decide not to combine them), as it can check Xerneas, counter 2-3 Klefki (most of the time), and set Stealth Rock to break sashes on Pokemon like Smeargle.
  • Mention HP Steel in OO, it's neat to lure and kill Mega Diancie, but doesn't deserve a slash.
  • Add Double Team to OO as well because you can in AG and it's annoying if not terrific (can also let it hax past some counters, like Mega Diancie, as I found out all too well a few weeks ago >.<).
  • Give a special mention to Magic Bounce users in Checks/Counters, mentioning that Mega Diancie in particular troubles it.
  • Mention Choice Scarf users like Kyogre in the revenge killers section.
  • Ekiller and MegaRay both can't OHKO Darkrai with Espeed (if it's above 75%ish) so mention that it has enough bulk to tank one from moderate health.
  • Mention Lum Berry users in particular can defeat Darkrai, as you don't know their item and most Pokemon can generally OHKO it back.
Great analysis dude!

Thanks for the feedback. I did end up combining the sets, which I originally had anyway, although the Ubers analysis has them separate iirc. Slashed Sub with both NP and the coverage move, as it is possible, albeit challenging, to run mono attacking. I decided to make a separate bullet point in checks and counters regarding sleep absorbers, covering Lum Berry and Magic Bounce as you mentioned, but also Sleep Talk. Added everything else in.

Double Team, and evasion in general, isn't a good strategy to use on the AG high ladder due to its reliance on the RNG. This is especially true for Arceus, who needs all the coverage it can get on its Extreme Killer sets, and needs to pack all the support moves possible into Support sets. Why would you give up one of these slots to occasionally dodge an attack, while still getting hit by Primal Kyogre's Thunder?

Generally, evasion is kinda sad, and it really shouldn't be used unless you intend to troll someone really really hard. Would you want to be facing a Sub Double Team Darkrai that cleans up a Toxic Spikes and Lugia team? It's the same kind of hax that dictates getting critted 3 times and losing about 6 speed ties. Zangooser >:(
Thanks, I was just curious because I wanted to start an "Anything Goes" club at my university. I got kind of fed up with Smogon's rules during this gen and decided fuck it, let's just unban everything.

I was thinking about how to deal with evasion, but it looks like it's not a practical strategy. Good to know.

Dis be Mega Diancie

OVERVIEW
Mega Diancie is a fast Magic Bounce user, which gives it a solid niche in Anything Goes, as it can prevent Klefki, Darkrai, and Smeargle from spamming their status moves. Sadly, it can not take on the mose prevalent hazard setters in the tier, due to most of them carrying attacks that are Super Effective on Mega Diancie, however it's niche as a fast, strong Magic Bounce user gives it a firmly cemented niche as one of the best Megas in the tier.

SET
name: Mega Diancie
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Diamond Storm
move 4: Protect / Hidden Power Fire
item: Diancite
ability: Clear Body
nature: Naive
evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

SET COMMENTS
Moves
========
Moonblast is the obvious first choice, hitting threats such as Darkrai and Yveltal for Super Effective damage, and being your main attack against neutral targets. Earth Power is necessary and the second most important move on the set. One of Mega Diancie's main niches is being a counter to Klefki, and Earth Power hits Klefki for Super Effective damage. Diamond Storm is an alternate STAB, hitting the various Flying-types in the tier hard. Protect is great for a safe Mega evolution, as well as scouting for Steel-type coverage, and in particular Klefki that use Flash Cannon or Iron Head. This isn't very common, however full Klefki teams often run at least one Klefki with a Steel STAB attack. Hidden Power Fire is an option to hit the even more rare Magnet Rise Klefki as well as Ferrothorn and Skarmory, however Protect is generally the superior option.

Set Details
========
Diancite is the item so you can Mega evolve Diancie and gain great offensive stats as well as Magic Bounce. The EVs maximize your Speed and Special Attack, with the remaining 4 put into Attack to make Diamond Storm very slightly stronger. A Naive nature is used so as to give the most speed possible without lowering either offensive stat. It is preferred over Hasty due to most priority moves being physical. An alternate EV spread of 80 Atk / 252 SpA / 176 Spe with a Naive nature can be used to outspeed everything up to and including the base 100 speed tier, while giving Diamond Storm a little extra power.

Usage Tips
========
Against teams with Klefki, Smeargle, or Darkrai, Mega Diancie should often be your lead in order to gain Magic Bounce as soon as possible. Against teams without these Pokemon, it should generally be used as a wallbreaker early on in the game, hopefully nabbing a kill or weakening an opponent to the point where another Pokemon can finish up. Great targets include Ho-Oh, Yveltal, Adamant Mega Rayquaza, and Primal Groudon, as these all take a lot of damage from Mega Diancie and can be difficult for other Pokemon to defeat.

Team Options
========
Xerneas is a great teammate to Mega Diancie, as Klefki can stop its sweep. Ho-Oh is also a great teammate as it can easily and consistently switch in on the Ground-type and Steel-type attacks aimed at Mega Diancie. Defensive Yveltal can handle common offensive Arceus formes and Mega Rayquaza, all of whom outspeed Mega Diancie if they run full Speed and can kill Mega Diancie with Earthquake.

STRATEGY COMMENTS
Other Options
=============
A set utilizing regular Diancie with Focus Sash can be used as a Stealth Rock suicide lead, usually with Magic Coat, Explosion, Stealth Rock, and Trick Room. This is not recommended at all, however, as there are a variety of better Stealth Rock setters including Primal Groudon, bulky Arceus formes, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory. Calm Mind and Rock Polish are options in the fourth slot to gain power and bulk or Speed, however these are underwhelming most of the time as it is not fast enough to run Calm Mind or strong enough to run Rock Polish. A Modest nature is an option for increased power, however Timid is preferred, allowing it to outspeed full speed Yveltal, base 100s, and speed tie with Latios, Latias, and other Mega Diancie.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Arceus formes**: All of the Arceus formes outspeed Mega Diancie, and they all can OHKO it with either Earthquake or Earth Power.

**Hidden Power Steel Darkrai**: As rare as it is, Darkrai outspeeds Mega Diancie and if it runs Hidden Power Steel it can OHKO it. Most of them don't run this, however some do just for Mega Diancie.

**Kyogre**: Every Kyogre can easily defeat Mega Diancie. Primal Kyogre is bulky enough to tank everything Mega Diancie has, and Choice Scarf Kyogre can outspeed and OHKO it.

**Bulky Primal Groudon**: Specially defensive Primal Groudon has enough bulk to live one Earth Power and OHKO Mega Diancie in return.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, Genesect, and Skarmory, as well as Jirachi and Heatran if they run Choice Scarf can threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie with their Steel-type STAB attacks.

Y-God AG Analysis

Approved by Joshz.
Seriously, if this Analysis can't make you use Yveltal, IDK what can.

Overview

What Yveltal does in the AG meta-game is pretty easy to understand. It is the best counter to Mewtwo, MM-X, MM-Y and Ghost-Arceus, which are some of the best mid/ late game sweepers. Yveltal with taunt is also able to handle Lugia pretty easily which is called 'king of stall'. It is also one of the best users of the Life Orb thanks to its signature move Oblivion Wing. Mainly Yveltal is able to act as a check to the Physical Sweepers that dominate AG since ORAS came out (and even take them out) and The Special Attacker Variant is able to deal huge amounts of damage to almost anything (Even to Types that take Neutral Damage).

The Bulky Variant

SET
Yveltal @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Dark Aura (Increases the power of Dark Type Attacks by 1.33 times)
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Toxic
- Foul Play
- Taunt/ Sucker Punch

SET COMMENTS

Moves
========

Roost: Roost is a reliable way for Yveltal to recover HP so that it doesn't get overwhelmed by the Physical blows of the opposing team. It also helps ensure that it is able to stay at full health or near full health throughout the battle while handling Physical Attackers.

Foul Play: Foul Play is an effective way using which Yveltal can deal high amounts of damage to Physical Attackers such as M-Ray (OHKO if it uses DD, 2HKO otherwise) and Extreme Speed Arceus (2HKO). The damage done by this move is increased due to Yveltal's ability 'Dark Aura'. (Foul Play deals damage taking the Opponent's Pokémon’s attack stat into account, hence it prevents Physical attackers from setting-up)

Taunt: Taunt can be used as well to stop status spreaders such as Lugia and Klefki (It needs luck against Klefki though, due to Klefki's ability Prankster) from using toxic on the entire team or paralyzing the entire team. Taunt can also stop Entry Hazard setters such as P-GDon from setting up SR. It can also help stop CM Arceus from setting up.

Toxic: Toxic is used to deal with other walls, or any pokemon that do very less damage to Yveltal due to its bulk while Yveltal can recover using Roost in the process.

Sucker Punch: It can be used instead of Taunt as Sucker Punch being a priority move can help Yveltal suffer from less damage and care of the Mewtwo forms with relative ease. It also helps finish up Pokémon with less HP.

Set Details
===========

Rocky helmet helps Yveltal deal more damage to Physical attackers or damage them even when it's recovering HP using Roost. The EVs are standard, Max HP and Defensive EVs to effectively deal with Physical Attackers and to absorb their attacks pretty easily. These EVs helps it survive a +1 Dragon Ascent from LO Adamant Mega-Rayquaza. (Useful calcs - LO Adamant M-Ray does about 88~99% at +1 Attack)

Usage Tips
===========

Though the Tough Bird variant of Yveltal is an effective of handling Physical Attackers, but there is a limit to its potential as well, Adamant LO M-Ray can OHKO (the chances are very less) it and It can be OHKOed by any Physical variant of M-Ray after SR damage (At +1 Attack), therefore it is crucial it has almost max to max health about always in the battle. So having a defogger is a must if this is your only Pokémon there to take care of physical attacker. Not to mention that people have started using SE on Arceus rather than Shadow Claw to take care of this Tough Bird in a better way. Opening with Yveltal is not advisable, rather it should be brought out whenever the opponent switches to a Physical Attacker and using Foul Play straight away is advised

Team Options
===========

Having a defogger on the team is necessary if Yveltal is to effectively deal with Physical attackers. Giratina and Giratina-O effectively do this task as they are able to handle the most used Stealth Rock setter P-GDon pretty easily (As they have good bulk, resist fire type attacks and Giratina-O has the ability Levitate giving it immunity from Ground type attacks). Bulky-Arceus or Support Arceus can help perform this task effectively as well. Also, you need a pokemon that can handle the Fairy type switch-ins of the opponent such as Xerneas or Fairy-Arceus, as it is able to do almost nothing to them. Some pokemon suitable for this role include Primal-Groudon, Ho-oh (The best In My Opinion) and Steel-Arceus (For handling Fairy-Arceus in particular).All these can be used as they can absorb Fairy type attacks pretty easily. Mega-Gengar and Poison-Arceus can be specifically included in the team to handle Fairy Pokemon, but are unable to do much otherwise. A toxic really reduces Yveltal's potential to effectively handle Physical attackers; even Will-o-wisp hinders it, so having a status bouncer or absorber such as Mega-Diancie or Refresh-Arceus (Bulkceus) is also advisable.

The Special Attacker Variant

SET
Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 65 Atk / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Rash Nature
- Oblivion Wing
- Dark Pulse
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt

SET COMMENTS
Moves
========

Oblivion Wing: Helps Yveltal deal damage to Fairy type pokemon (predicting a switch-in). Oblivion Wing is also Yveltal's Signature move and restores 75% of damage dealt rather than the usual 50% most draining moves have, giving this Life Orb variant some longevity. One should use it whenever the opponent's pokemon is in the KO Range of this move in order to ensure Yveltal has a good amount of HP.

Dark Pulse: Dark Pulse is another of Yveltal's STAB moves which helps deal a lot of damage to almost anything, LO and Dark Aura help increase it's power multifold. (80*1.5*1.33 = 160). It can OHKO a lot of pokemon, these include - Mewtwo, MM-X, Ghost-Arceus (Super Effective), Aegislash (Super Effective; won't OHKO if it has Max SpD and Max HP - For Shield Form)

Sucker Punch: Sucker Punch is the much needed priority move which helps Yveltal finish up opponent's pokemon left with less HP which is, again, boosted by Dark Aura thereby increasing its power. Also, Sucker Punch is able to OHKO Mewtwo and MM-Y.

Taunt: Taunt is there to stop Lugia and other status spreaders from affecting the entire team with Status conditions (It also helps Yveltal counter Lugia in a better way, as if Lugia has been taunted, it won't be able to recover HP using Roost, nor would it be able to use Toxic, hence Yveltal will be able to 2HKO it) and helps stop CM-Arceus from setting up and then sweeping the entire team.

Set Details
==========

It has Max SpA in order to do large amounts of damage to almost anything. 184 EVs in Spe so that it out-speeds most Geomancy-Xerneas and is able to taunt them or take it out (In-case you hit it with Oblivion Wing on the switch-in, as it should do about 50%, even if it sets up with Geo you can later KO with Sucker Punch, watch-out for Choice Scarf Xerneas though) and the rest of the EVs in attack to maximize the power of Sucker Punch as much as possible. LO is there to further increase the power of moves (by 1.3).

[Useful Info - Yveltal with 92 EVs invested it Speed is able to outspeed Lugia, if it has no Speed investment]

Usage Tips
===========

Yveltal can hit and deal huge amounts of damage to anything that doesn't have humungous SpD or is Fairy/Rock. It’s the most effective way of handling with Mewtwo, MM-X & MM-Y, Ghost-Arceus, Lugia and Mega Gengar. Switch-in to Yveltal as soon as your opponent brings in Ghost-Arceus for an 'attempted sweep' as Yveltal will be able to absorb anything Ghost-Arceus can throw at it and then OHKO it with Dark Pulse. Switch on spotting Mega-Gengar/ Gengar as well, but use taunt on the first turn to check for Destiny Bond.

Using Yveltal against Fairy type pokemon is not at all advisable though as it could suffer from huge amounts of damage and do little damage in return.

Team Options
===========

Good Fairy pokemon checks are necessary, as they can simply switch into Yveltal. Good Fairy Pokemon checks include - Primal Groudon, Ho-oh, Steel-Arceus and Poison-Arceus as they can simply absorb damage from the Fairy Type attacks pretty easily thanks to their resisting types and deal back good amount of damage thanks to their high attack stats and Super Effective Attack Moves (Poison-Arceus and Steel-Arceus). Mega-Gengar is also a very good pokemon for handling Fairy Pokemon as it resists their STAB Fairy moves and deals back huge amounts of damage with its STAB Super Effective Poison Type moves.
A status absorber in the team can also help ensure Yveltal stays completely fit for battle so that its effectiveness is not reduced, but it’s not necessary. Some examples of status absorbers and Bouncers (Mega Bounce) are Bulkceus (Refresh), Mega-Diancie and Mega-Sableye.

STRATEGY COMMENTS

Other Options
============

One can always run Heat Wave on the first two variants of Yveltal mentioned in the Analysis as it can help deal with Klefki and can OHKO without any trouble it if caught on the switch, hence taking out a Pokemon that can be taken as the biggest threat to any AG Team (I'm not joking). Heat Wave can be used in place of Taunt or Sucker Punch on the Bulky and Special Attacker Variants.

You can also have the Bulky Variant of Yveltal hold a Charti Berry or Leftovers instead of the usual Rocky Helmet. While a Charti Berry can help Yveltal survive an unexpected Stone Edge from an E-killer at +2 Attack, the little bit HP leftovers revive can help ensure that Yveltal survives even some of the most powerful Physical Attacks even after SR damage. But all in all, they are not worth using over Rocky Helmet

Also a Choice Scarf Yveltal with the move-set Foul Play, Oblivion Wing, Dark Pulse U-Turn can be used along with Mega-Gengar in order to attract Fairy types by using Yveltal and then switching out using U-Turn to Mega-Gengar which will trap those Fairy Pokemon and can then hit them with Super Effective STAB Poison type moves. But Choice Scarf isn't able to bring out the immense potential (Attacks do significantly less damage) Yveltal has and it can get worn out pretty easily due to multiple switches due to damage from SR. Hence, its usage is not advisable.
Check and Counters (For both the Variants)
============================

Now, while the counters to both the variants are round about the same pokemon, the reasons due to which they act as counters are different, in view of this, I've mentioned the Pokemon that counter different varinats of Yveltal and the reasons due to which they are able to counter a particular variant separately.

For The BULKY VARIANT

**Fairy Pokemon**
This variant of Yveltal is unable to handle any fairy type pokemon and they simply switch into it as they resist Yveltal's STAB Foul Play and generally have low Attack, and can severly reduce its HP by using Super Effective Fairy Type moves such as Moon Blast. Also, Xerneas gets a free turn to use Geomancy. Klefki gets a free turn to enter the battle field as well, and can use status moves to reduce Yveltal's effectiveness. Mega-Diancie counters Yveltal very effectively as well due to its Rock/Fairy typing and a good ability in Mega-Bounce, bouncing off Toxic.

**Mega Rayquaza**
Even though Yveltal's Bulky Varaint variant is able to deal effectively with most Physical attackers, it does have difficulty in handling Mega-Rayquaza due to its humongous attack stat as it can OHKO it with Dragon Ascent at +1 Attack after Stealth Rock damage. Yveltal can deal with it pretty easily otherwise.

**Special Attackers**
Yveltal is gravely hindered by Modest Nature pokemon as Foul Play does damage taking 'the opponent's Attack stat' into account, the only way it can deal damage to these Pokemon is by Sucker Punch or by using Toxic on them. Switching is better in this case rather than staying in and battling with Yveltal to something that resists these Special Attackers' STAB moves. Some Bulky Special Attackers include - Kyogre/ P-Kyogre, CM-Arceus.

**Mega Rayquaza**
Even though Yveltal's Tough Bird variant is able to deal effectively with most Physical attackers, it does have difficulty in handling Mega-Rayquaza due to its humungous attack stat as it can OHKO it with Dragon Ascent at +1 Attack after Stealth Rock damage. Yveltal can deal with it pretty easily otherwise.

**Special Attackers**
Yveltal is gravely hindered by Modest Nature pokemon as Foul Play does damage taking 'the opponent's Attack stat into account, the only way it can deal damage to these Pokemon is by Sucker Punch or by using Toxic on them. Switching is better in this case rather than staying in and battling with Yveltal to something that resists these Special Attackers' STAB moves. Some Bulky Special Attackers include - Kyogre/ P-Kyogre, CM-Arceus.

For The SPECIAL ATTACKER

**Fairy pokemon**
Fairy pokemon do trouble Special Yveltal quite a bit as well, resisting its most powerful move Dark Pulse, but after they've been damaged enough, Yveltal can take them out with Oblivion Wing/ Sucker Punch. Fairy-Arceus and Mega-Diancie handle Yveltal pretty easily, but Mega-Diancie doesn't like switching in directly as it'll lose about 50% HP from the damage from Dark Pulse.

**Kyogre/ P-Kyogre**
Anything with too much SpA and/or SpD is able to handle Yveltal relatively easily, and Kyogre is one of the Bulkiest Special Attackers. However with its health lowered to about 50%, Yveltal can take it out with a Sucker Punch.

**Ho-oh**
Ho-oh is a very good counter to Yveltal once it has been determined whether it’s the Bulky Variant or the Special Attacker. With very good SpD and Attack, it can absorb damage from Yveltal's attacks and retaliate with Sacred Fire/ Brave Bird and with the very high Burn % Sacred Fire has (50%), it surely is very difficult to handle for Yveltal.

good analysis. one thing I don't really agree on is the spread for AoA Mega Diancie; 4/252/252 is ok but there are better spreads. 80,252,176 naive does outspeed +100s (besides max speed doesn't really accomplish much but ties).
In the C&C section you can instead opt for "Steel-types" in general as Mega Diancie becomes setup fodder for the most common ones or can easily outright OHKO it.
Also "Hidden Power Steel" Darkrai is a tad specific, even though it does a good job of killing Mega Diancie due to luring it. Up to you if you want it to stay though.

I assume that this analysis is just for Mega Diancie, so idk why you put sash lead Diancie there >_< however, if that is applicable, normal Diancie actually has a lot of options due to its unique typing and movepool, so you might have a lot more work to do.

Set Details
===========

Usage Tips
===========

===========

Even though Yveltal's Tough Bird variant is able to deal effectively with most Physical attackers, it does have difficulty in handling Mega-Rayquaza due to its humungous attack stat as it can OHKO it with Dragon Ascent at +1 Attack after Stealth Rock damage. Yveltal can deal with it pretty easily otherwise.

**Special Attackers**
Yveltal is gravely hindered by Modest Nature pokemon as Foul Play does damage taking 'the opponent's Attack stat' into account, the only way it can deal damage to these Pokemon is by Sucker Punch or by using Toxic on them. Switching is better in this case rather than staying in and battling with Yveltal to something that resists these Special Attackers' STAB moves. Some Bulky Special Attackers include - Kyogre/ P-Kyogre, CM-Arceus.

Moves

========
Oblivion Wing:
Helps Yveltal deal damage to Fairy type pokemon (predicting a switch-in).

Set Details
==========

Usage Tips
===========

===========

**Fairy pokemon**
Fairy pokemon do trouble Yveltal quite a bit resisting its most powerful move Dark Pulse, but after they've been damaged enough, Yveltal can take them out with Oblivion Wing/ Sucker Punch.

================
OTHER OPTIONS

1. A Choice Scarf Yveltal can be used as well -

Yveltal @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 32 HP / 32 Def / 252 SpA / 8 SpD / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
- Foul Play
- Oblivion Wing
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn

This set can be used in pair with Mega-Gengar. U-Turn can be used to switch to Mega-Gengar, hence trapping the opponent's Fairy Pokemon (due to Mega-Gengar's ability 'Shadow Tag') and then taking them out using Mega-Gengar's STAB Poison Type moves.

Foul Play helps Yveltal punish Physical attackers and prevents them from setting-up. Oblivion Wing helps Yveltal recover HP and KO anything with-in range of the damage from Oblivion Wing. Dark Pulse helps deal a lot of damage to anything that takes even neutral damage from Dark Type moves.

About the EVs - 32EVs in HP to increase Yveltal's HP a bit and to also give it an odd amount of HP (Hence Reducing the damage taken from SR or any form of Residual damage, such as from Toxic or Will-o-wisp). It has 184EVs in Spe to out-speed Modest Choice Scarf-Kyogre and 252EVs in SpA to maximize Attack power, and the rest in defense to increase Yveltal's durability a bit. A Modest Nature to further increase SpA.

This set is usable but not that viable due to the limitations that come with Choice Scarf, i.e., only one move can be used per switch-in into the Battle Field and multiple switches can wear Yveltal down due to Stealth Rock damage.
Information wise it's fine, you didn't show me this formatting in pastebin. Don't bold anything. Look at IT11's post above yours to see the format, and copy that directly. It shouldn't have these weird spacings, and you shouldn't have a whole set in other options. Other options should also be above threats etc. Dude, it's not that hard to copy a format.

tldr; content = good, format = bad.

Alright, I'll make the necessary changes. I don't think the formatting can be seen in pastebin though, as I had posted you the completely 'complete' Analysis. There is a whole set in the OTHER OPTIONS, yes. I've used the set myself and its a usable one, but just stand up and completely use the immense potential Yveltal has so it is not that viable and I thought I could put in the other options instead as there aren't any particular moves Yveltal can use/ should use other than the ones mentioned in Main Analysis on each variant. Still, if the format is that important, I'll remove it if you say so. Also, other options is there at the end because I had to deal with two variants of Yveltal.

good analysis. one thing I don't really agree on is the spread for AoA Mega Diancie; 4/252/252 is ok but there are better spreads.

I can mention that spread in Set Details, thanks.
I suppose I could add a Steel-types mention, but the only really relevant ones not mentioned yet is Heatran and Genesect, but they're kinda rare. I'll add it tho
HP Steel Darkrai has to be specific, its the only form of Darkrai that threatens it.
When doing an analysis, you're supposed to include all formes of that Pokemon (both Mega and non-Mega, Primal and non-Primal) which is why I thought your Ogre analysis should've included Scarf Ogre but w/e, that's why I mentioned the non-Mega lead (plz don't use it tho it's actually pretty bad)

Roost:
Roost is a reliable way for Yveltal to recover HP so that it doesn't get overwhelmed by the Physical blows of the opposing team.

Rocky Helmet is not really the only option for Yveltal as an item choice. There should be a slash for Leftovers somewhere and a mention of various niche items (e.g. berries) for Def Yveltal. As another niche option, Heat Wave should also be mentioned in AoA and offensive sets as it hits Klefki and other steels; it catches a lot of Pokemon off-guard.
I don't really like how Choice Scarf Yveltal is listed in OO :/ The flaws listed are pretty generic. I think it should be listed as a main set. Besides, the spread is actually a little odd. The bulk EVs should be at least 32 HP EVs and 4 Def EVs make Arceus's +2 E-speed unable to OHKO, and Yveltal CAN also run 224 Speed EVS for +1/scarfed neutral 95s.
Oh BTW you should up the attack evs on AoA Yveltal and mention 96 speed evs as a tier to outspeed speedless Lugia.

InfernapeTropius11 I actually meant replacing the Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn mentions and lumping the descriptions together. Also, add Skarmory; while only a few have Iron Head and thus are able to take it out, Skarmory can still use it as Spikes bait.

Correct me if you think anything is wrong, sorry if it is.

Leftovers aren't worth losing rocky helmet.

You don't mention niches in an analysis, the point is the viable sets for beginners. Once you get better you can do niches yourself as your team needs, in general no.

As another niche option, Heat Wave should also be mentioned in AoA and offensive sets as it hits Klefki and other steels; it catches a lot of Pokemon off-guard.
For other options maybe, definitely not in the main set.

I don't really like how Choice Scarf Yveltal is listed in OO :/ The flaws listed are pretty generic. I think it should be listed as a main set.
First of all, Drayden8437 you don't list a whole set like that in other options. You'd just refer to it as "Choice Scarf Yveltal" as an option. Besides that though, no it definitely isn't worth its own set. Choice Scarf Yveltal really isn't that good.

Besides, the spread is actually a little odd. The bulk EVs should be at least 32 HP EVs and 4 Def EVs make Arceus's +2 E-speed unable to OHKO, and Yveltal CAN also run 224 Speed EVS for +1/scarfed neutral 95s
This doesn't seem oddly specific and irrelevant to you...?

Oh BTW you should up the attack evs on AoA Yveltal and mention 96 speed evs as a tier to outspeed speedless Lugia.
Most Lugias run minimal speed, and it's not like yveltal needs to waste that many EVs for the unlikely chance to outspeed one not-even-a threat.

edit: both can't do anything to each other actually :(
HP Fire Diancie is a thing which beats Skarm, and it can set up on Skarm with Diamond Storm to a degree because Roost only has so much PP.

Leftovers aren't worth losing rocky helmet. (the other way around imo, Yveltal gets pretty easily worn down by status and hazards)

For other options maybe, definitely not in the main set. (maybe but you should mention it in the moves section, it's too good)

First of all, Drayden8437 you don't list a whole set like that in other options. You'd just refer to it as "Choice Scarf Yveltal" as an option. Besides that though, no it definitely isn't worth its own set. Choice Scarf Yveltal really isn't that good. (good enough for a main set, up to him though)

This doesn't seem oddly specific and irrelevant to you...? (agrees)

Most Lugias run minimal speed, and it's not like yveltal needs to waste that many EVs for the unlikely chance to outspeed one not-even-a threat. (he ran 65 attack evs not a number divisible by four meaning he should add the 3 evs for that little stat point; optional to mention speed tiers it should reach as always)

HP Fire Diancie is a thing which beats Skarm, and it can set up on Skarm with Diamond Storm to a degree because Roost only has so much PP.(HP fire is pretty rare because Mega Diancie is strapped as it is for moveslots with all that coverage and Protect and whatever)
Do our AG analyses need grammar checks btw?

What's wrong with lefties yveltal lol helmet is nice but making up for chip SR damage and the like is cool. It also significantly reduces the odds of a +2 espeed from silk scarf/Lum ekiller arceus 2hko (basically switching into non lo variants w/out rocks or even doing it twice which gives you more freedom in not going right to yveltal every time it SDs)

Correct me if you think anything is wrong, sorry if it is.
I do agree that Rocky Helmet isn't the only option for Bulky Yveltal but Rocky Helmet works very well as it only does about 88% to an E-Killer at +2 so most people would feel that Rocky Helmet is necessary, because if Arceus tries to attack through any Physical move it'll be damaged the Rocky Helmet and then taken out by the following Foul Play (OHKO in short).

About Scarf Yveltal, I'll remove the set and give it a 'smaller' mention in OO.
I've put in about Heat Wave in the Other Options (after the edit).
While damage due to SR may seem a problem common to all the variants, Choice Scarf Yveltal can especially suffer as can have to switch out not because the opposing pokemon can damage it badly but due to the fact that Yveltal previously used a moved that isn't effective against it (Ex. - Heat Wave on Giratina).

Yes, I will add to the analyses that Yveltal outspeeds Lugia wih 92 EVs invested in Spe (If Lugia has no EVs invested in Spe). Yes, it is 92EVs not 96.

Thanks for the review!

Yes recovering from the damage caused by SR a bit easily seems cool, but does it actually benefit?
For Example you switch into +1 Attack LO Adamant M-Rayquaza (I mean he uses DD the turn you switch into it), even if Yveltal recovers 6% HP (Will take it to about 82% HP) M-Ray will still OHKO it with Dragon Ascent next turn. What works better is to damage the foes as they try to attack Yveltal. There is no need for Leftovers as The Bulky Variant already has enough BULK to withstand almost any Physical Attack, barring a few which he cannot even take care of with the help of Leftovers

Uh, not exactly sure where you're getting your calcs, but I got this:

+1 252+ Atk Mega Rayquaza Dragon Ascent vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Yveltal: 307-363 (67.4 - 79.7%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Lum Adamant Mega Ray only has a 37.5% chance to OHKO after Rocks, which is zero after Rocks+Lefties, as Lefties brings it up to ~81.25%, which is higher than 79.7%. I still prefer Helmet as the primary option, but it doesn't even guarantee the OHKO vs. Helmet Yveltal, might want to edit those bits out. I'll check the analysis content-wise later, when I have more time.

Sorry, wrote Lum, meant LO (Edited it).

I can further justify the usage of Rocky Helmet over Leftovers by another Example.
Extreme Speed from Silk Scarfed, Jolly, 252Atk Arceus would do about 43.4% to 51.3% Damage and has only 7.4% chance to 2HKO, while Leftovers will ensure that Yveltal survives, surviving doesn't even come into the picture with Rocky Helmet because if Arceus tries to attack, it'll take damage from Rocky Helmet and will then be OHKO'ed by Foul Play.

Moves
========

Set Details
===========

Usage Tips
===========

===========

SET COMMENTS
Moves
========

Set Details
==========

Usage Tips
===========

===========

============

============================

Include Charti Berry as an alternative item on Yveltal too. It's rare & underrated, but it helps since Stone Edge E killer is common.

I just gave a relevant situation. Sure the chip damage is nice, but lefties clearly has one viable situation and the extra recovery on something with a rocks weakness is pretty much always gonna be useful. Also I don't see why you keep mentioning how it helps versus arceus
+2 0 Atk Dark Aura Yveltal Foul Play vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Arceus: 331-391 (86.6 - 102.3%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
or just after a round of LO damage? Plus LO Edge can kill you with just a little chip anyway. Helmet is nice for random chip and lefties is nice for random recovery, it's basically the exact same thing except the chip is a bit more useful overall.
For Example you switch into +1 Attack LO Adamant M-Rayquaza, even if Yveltal recovers 6% HP (Will take it to about 82% HP) M-Ray will still OHKO it with Dragon Ascent.
Wait so why are you expecting yveltal to switch into adamant LO megaray? It's a goddamn megaray. You don't even get time for lefties recovery because you died after rocks. Sure helmet gets one round of helmet recoil but that's not some amazing accomplishment, a jigglypuff could do that. Nice and relevant situation.

Megazard you double posted from lag o3o pls delete one.

Anyways, Lefties does have viable situations, yeah. It's not worth being slashed on though because its a lot less viable. Hence why I said it should be in other options rather than the main set. Charti Berry should also be in Other Options like Gunner said.

By switching I mean you switch into it on the turn it uses DD.

And yeah okay Leftovers is viable too (Added it in the other options). But I don't think its worth using over Rocky Helmet.

BTW, Foul Play takes the opponents attack stat into account :P
