the newer pokemon games have this feature that tells you the type efectiveness against the target. while us pokemon pros dont need this, not all people who play pokemon showdown are pros. temp6ts fanbase is proof of that. these absolute CASUALS dont have the interactions between all 18 types memorized. yes, the /weak comand exists, but im willing to bet many people on showdown dont even know about comands. if we want competitive pokemon to be more accesible to new players, we should add in a feature that tells them what moves are super effective, like in the pokemon games. while there are some other ways to help new players, this is the easiest and best way we can help them.
