Ivy Cudgel boosted by Rocky Payload threatens a 2HKO on common defensive Pokemon such as Cresselia, Gliscor, and Unaware Scream Tail. Swords Dance lets it 2HKO intimidate Corviknight after a single boost. Power Whip deals great damage to Ground-types such as Garchomp, Great Tusk, and Iron Treads that resist Ivy Cudgel while also dealing huge damage to Water-types such as Manaphy, Quaquaval, and Empoleon. Trailblaze allows Ogerpon-C to outspeed faster Pokemon such as Barraskewda and Chien-Pao, making it a good late-game cleaner on dual screens hyper offense teams, while Knock Off cripples switch-ins such as Corviknight and Scream Tail. Ogerpon-C best fits on bulky offense or hyper offense teams where it can get setup opportunities and pressure defensive Pokemon for its teammates. Slower pivots like Corviknight, Fezandipiti, and Manaphy are good teammates on bulky offense teams. Ogerpon-C can get revenge killed by faster foes such as Chien-Pao, Azelf, and Zamazenta-C, so counterplay to them in Pokemon such as Quaquaval, Hisuian Goodra, and Corviknight is appreciated. Ogerpon-C is also susceptible to get revenge killed by priority moves from Aerilate Dragonite and Triage Kommo-o, so Psychic Surge Azelf and Unaware Scream Tail are good teammates.
