angels roll their eyes
I’ve been painting for about six years or so now, but I haven’t shared my art in a long time. However, lately I’ve found that making Pokémon art is both a really nice way to chill and to express my creativity in a low pressure way. So here I am. And here’s some of my art…
This piece is probably my favorite I’ve ever done. It took about 48 hours start to finish, but was honestly a really smooth process. I wanted to highlight it because it is, I personally think, my work at its best. A unicorn running across a field, glowing like the dawn. Simple, but magical.
I’m more comfortable painting simple, straightforward subjects than I am at complex scenes. (Which is something I’m working on!) And though I really admire artists that can balance a really chaotic scene or canvas, I also love the idea of deliberately obscuring details or merging shapes so that the focal point of the painting can really pop. (It’s also something I really try to work on.) So, all that being said, it’s probably not a surprise that I love portraiture. Above are a few more animal portraits, and below’s a set of in-progress portraits I particularly enjoyed painting.
And, of course, like I said above, I love painting Pokémon. Here’s a few of my recent favorites.
And, like any Pokémon-loving artist, I am very slowly making my way through the “fave ‘mon of each type” thing. Here’s my current progress.
If you’ve made it this far, I hope you enjoyed my art. It’s been forever since I last shared it with anyone. I have so many more sketches and in-progress pieces. Please let me know if you’d like to see more. And even though I can’t promise anything as I am pretty busy, if anyone is interested in a commission or request, feel free to let me know. I hope you’re having a beautiful day!
