[SET COMMENTS]
Dugtrio's main draw is Arena Trap combined with its high Speed, which allows it to trap and eliminate Pokemon like Tyranitar, Toxtricity, and Cinderace. Reversal takes advantage of Focus Sash by doing more damage than Earthquake against foes like Galarian Darmanitan, Tyranitar, and Hydreigon. Dugtrio can switch out while forcing Galarian Darmanitan to Dynamax to sponge up a hit, therefore rendering the opponent unable to use Dynamax for the rest of the game. Screech is an important move to help trap bulky Pokemon like Toxapex and Clefable, which can otherwise take a few hits. Sucker Punch allows Dugtrio to deal some damage to faster Pokemon like Dragapult, Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and Ditto. Memento synergizes nicely with Focus Sash by significantly weakening a Pokemon to bring a teammate in to set up more easily. Stone Edge hits Pokemon that try to take advantage of Dugtrio by switching in after something is trapped like Gyarados and Togekiss. A Jolly nature is used to outspeed Cinderace, Gengar, and +1 Tyranitar.
Frail attackers like Dragapult and Galarian Darmanitan enjoy Dugtrio's ability to trap both problematic defensive and offensive checks. The aforementioned also use U-turn, which allows Dugtrio to trap defensive checks like Toxapex as they pivot out versus them. Setup sweepers like Togekiss, Bulk Up Corviknight, and Reuniclus greatly enjoy Dugtrio's ability to trap Tyranitar. Dugtrio dislikes entry hazards because they break its Focus Sash, so hazard removal from Pokemon like defensive Corviknight and Mandibuzz can help. It also suffers from being easily taken advantage of by Pokemon immune to Earthquake like Hydreigon and Rotom-W, so Pokemon that can deal with them like Clefable and Dragapult pair well.
