NOW UPDATED FOR XY!
It is a well-known fact that EVing your Pokemon can be essential to a team's success in the Doubles metagame. It is something so important that a whole TOTW was devoted towards exploring the best way to maximize the effect of your EVs. However, many people may find it daunting to attempt to keep track of the many different benchmarks there are in the Doubles metagame, and will thus resort to inferior 252/252 spreads as opposed to finding spreads that will best fit their team. This thread's goal is to provide an easy to access list of benchmarks to make it easier to calculate spreads for your Pokemon. In addition to the Speed benchmarks, there is a list of important offensive and defensive benchmarks to consider when EVing that is available below. Sadly, this list is likely missing things, so if you feel that there is an important benchmark being left out, be sure to mention it.

For Pokemon affected by stat boosts and drops, all non-integers round down.

Speed Tiers:
Format: Speed / Pokemon / Base Speed / Nature (+Spe, -Spe, or Neutral) / EV Investment / Boost
* - An asterisk next to the nature indicates that the Pokemon has 0 Speed IVs
** - Two asterisks next to the boost indicates that the speed factors in a drop from Icy Wind
(-M) - This at the end of a Pokemon's name indicates that it is the Mega form
Bold - Extremely common and relevant speed tier

Doesn't it have the same power as LO Deo A Psycho Boost though?

pwne edit: roughly, but a different type (youd let your cress tank psycho boost, you would not let your cress tank overheat)

Does anything actually want to take that regardless
Indeed, not a lot of things want to take such a powerful move in the first place.

I still think it should still be in the list of benchmarks because it's such a powerful nuke of a move, that it may do
quite a bit of damage even to things that resist fire attacks, especially if they aren't running defensive builds.
If you have to switch in something that resists fire to take the hit, it should have health to spare
to potentially survive MCY's partner's follow-up attack.

Overheat will also leave them at -2 special attack so you can use that penalty of theirs to your advantage
to try and gain momentum (back).

252+ SpA Mega Charizard Y Overheat vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arceus in Sun: 348-409 (78.3 - 92.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Deoxys-A Psycho Boost vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arceus: 355-419 (79.9 - 94.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So ya, little less powerful actually, so the DeoA Calc is still a better benchmark overall, unless you're planning on using Cress to tank everything lol.

Still scary to think there's something out there hitting that hard without dying to Cresselia's Icy Wind.

Could we add Max HP Kanga to defensive, and Fake Out+Return to offensive?

Max HP Kanga is viable due to living Jolly LO CC from Terrakion (might actually be Jolly Sash but I'll Calc when I get home), while most Kanga aim to kill things with a fake out+return combo (most Rotom-W build for this actually and not accounting for Burn either).

It's Jolly Sash but yah I support this, especially since 252 HP Khan is actually the most used in the doubles meta according to the stats.

plus it's a real bitch to face #bankanga

776 Speed is Skymin Tailwind.

Considering it gets the move and can make use of it (especially if you can find someone else to run Earth Power), I think it's relevant. If anything, it would make it the fastest mon in the tier that doesn't need outside support to get there.

I would add Belly Drum Azumarill Aqua Jet/Play Rough to the list of Physical benchmarks I've noticed from playing a bit that I am sweeping where I shouldnt be and with all these ground, dragons, fire and rock types around it would be a reasonable benchmark maybe

I've added some stuff to the speed tiers. I can't remember everything I added in the last few months, but in the last 24 hours I've added the following:
421 / Landorus-T / 91 / Neutral / 252 / 1
412 / Suicune / 85 / Neutral / 0 / 2
206 / Suicune / 85 / Neutral / 0 / 0

I know Suicune usually runs a bit of Speed investment (@Lolk?) but I figured since it has the same base Speed as Cress I might as well throw 0 Speed Suicune in (+2 for Tailwind). I considered adding base 50+ (Mawile and Azumarill) but a glance at the usage stats told me it wasn't worth it - neither of those Pokemon ever run 252 in Speed, let alone a positive nature.

This is also a plug for this thread because once you get to the later stages of teambuilding this is the best thread in the forum.

Nah I have never seen a reason to run Speed on Cune other than to creep Cress a wee bit. It hits some pretty sweet defensive benchmarks if you use all of the EVs in bulk.

Cune benchmarks are important tho cause it is Tailwind Jesus tho, so nice catch :)

Idk about the 252 Adamant Scarf set. 180 is all it needs to outspeed Mega Gengar, that is a good enough deadline imo or 212 for mega nectric if that freaks you out

<Arcticblast> I know I've run 252 Adamant Landorus before
<Arcticblast> because I got lazy
<Pwnemon> ur a shit tho
<Arcticblast> and didn't remember how much Speed it needed for Mega Manectric
<Arcticblast> and regardless I'd much rather EV a Ludicolo (for example) to outrun 252 Adamant Scarf Landorus
<Pwnemon> yeah
<Arcticblast> than EV it for the 180 variant and get smacked by a faster U-turn
<Pwnemon> the rule is to always EV for max

Banned deucer.
Important note cstick reminded me to mention: everything rounds down when affected by things that would turn them into non-integers. So a Kangaskhan (328 spe) at -1 has 218 Spe despite the unrounded value being 218.66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666...
