Assault Vest Machamp has a better matchup versus more offensive teams as an alternative to Machamp's wallbreaking set that has a huge advantage against both balance and bulky offense. With Guts, Machamp is still able to break through bulkier teams once hit with a status effect. Assault Vest Machamp can take on heavy-hitting special attackers such as Noivern and Roserade while being able to KO them in return with Ice Punch. Knock Off allows Machamp to cripple bulky checks and help versus Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Necrozma and Mismagius. Bullet Punch is necessary priority to hit Gardevoir and revenge kill low health Pokemon. Close Combat lets Machamp better take on Pokemon like Mega Blastoise. However, Machamp finds itself easily forced out after using Close Combat even with an Assault Vest, so pairing it with Pokemon such as Healing Wish Gardevoir or and Wish Florges to keep Machamp healthy is very helpful. Offensive Pokemon such as Zygarde-10% and Raikou are helped immensely by Machamp's ability to remove Water- and Steel-types.

For a while Machamp has been punching holes in the RU tier and that does not stop with this set. The Assault Vest variant displayed gives Machamp has a better match up matchup versus more offensive teams as an alternative to Machamp's wallbreaking set that has a huge advantage against both balance and bulky offense. With max HP and Assault Vest Machamp can take on heavy-(AH)hitting special attackers such as Noivern and Roserade while being able to KO them in return with Ice Punch. Knock Off on the set allows Machamp to cripple bulky checks as well as helping and help versus Psychic- and Ghost-types Pokemon such as Necrozma and Mismagius.
