The town reconvenes once more in the center of the village, who could be secretly lying behind their backs? Who were the murderers walking amongst them? Convening together, they come to a conclusion... in a very tight vote...

FINAL VOTECOUNT, DAY 3

Psypsypsypsypsythe (6): saberslasher11, ImaginaryNeon, pulsar512b, StupidFlandrs48, Alice Kazumi, genisu
saberslasher11 (4): Psypsypsypsypsythe, Dead by Daylight, master oden, Lechen,

Psypsypsypsypsythe has been executed!

Bouncer (Town Protective)
No Attack / No Defense

Abilities:
  • Guard: You may guard a player at night, causing direct visits to fail against the player.

Attributes:
  • You will learn how many players visited your target.
  • If your target is directly attacked, they will live and you will be attacked instead.
  • You cannot be roleblocked.

Goal: Eliminate every criminal and evildoer.

We found a last will next to their body!

psy the bouncer
n1 - sunny004 (i was transported + attempted roleblocked, no visits on sunny)
n2 - hydro

redless claimed to lechen that he was sheriff with a redcheck on jalmont. this is why lechen stated he planned to shoot redless if jalmont flipped as town and its why that wagon happened how it did

pulsar attempted to roletrade with hydro. i think this implicates pulsar and genisu as teammates because genisu knows that hydro is a visiting role and couldve had pulsar play a mole to get information

flandrs is who roleblocked me n1. dont know if this means he is escort or consort. if redless is mafia, likely escort because i was transported with redless and consort would not roleblock their own teammate

reminder to tps that you shouldnt openly claim, and neither should transporter. the only scenario is if you absolutely have to for town to move forward

my reads are pulsar, genisu, alice, redless, flandrs are scummy. no strong townreads other than one i wont out here

It is now Night 3, the night will last a little under 24 hours. You may send your night actions as well as your Last Will to me before this deadline goes in effect.

Whispers are DISABLED until Daytime. Talking in this chat is DISABLED until Daytime.

Deadline is Friday the 17th at 11pm EST.
I'd appreciate if I could receive results 15 minutes before deadline, so I get a buffer to get resolution out.

Thanks everyone for playing! This was always meant to be more of a quickie (as most ToS games go), but N2 ended up being truly unfortunate for everyone but the Mafia. It was truly the perfect storm, with NK dying, as well as both of Town's remaining forms of kill power (Trans and BG), ending up with town having no reliable kill power at night. The vote on day 3 solidified their win, removing all chance of a slight comeback due to Lechen the Retributionist being able to revive a fallen Bodyguard. Scum was intending on idling this night, so there's no real reason to keep on going now that mafia + witch also have the numbers advantage.

Setup wise, I think the town rolled very unfortunately with the Lookouts. While they're typically extremely strong as a source of info, both scum factions had ways of entirely ignoring them, with WW simply being able to kill Lookouts that were looking at someone with it's rampage, while scum was just using Godfather for their kills at night, avoiding the danger of getting seen. Celever dying N1 was very unfortunate as well.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on the setup / mechanics! I'd really like to try hosting another one of these kinds of games another time.

Big thanks to Duskfall98 for helping me out with this!

Again, thanks to everyone for playing, had a really fun time managing this :)

You guys don't know me but I am an ancient beast when it comes to playing mafia both online and in person.
Firstly, my take on the setup... Im accustomed to more vanilla setups. Its hard for me to gauge role heavy setups like this one, but my impression is that town has like a 20% chance to win. 6/15 evils is very difficult for town to overcome in my opinion, even in a role heavy setup. Maybe there is some optimal strategy with claiming, whispering and coordinating to "solve" the setup which extremely good players would do. In this case though, town had the work cut out for them. I think a decent/average town would win 20% of the time.

Now for something a bit more dire... I seriously hope this game is not representative of the average townplay on Smogon. This was messy, grim, and downright lazy townplay. You guys were caught up in trying to "solve" the setup ever since day 1 to the point where you ignored reads and standard townplay. I think people were perhaps confused because of TOS and this being a role heavy game, but take it from an old veteran: reading people should be your first approach to the game. If you are LUCKY and FORTUNATE enough to solve the game with night actions, then so be it. Until that happens, assume you need to actually activate your brain cells, ask pointed questions, and use your intuition.

The sheer number of times players forgot who claimed something, forgot that there was a transport on N2, forgot basic game mechanics, lazily asked for vote counts instead of checking themselves was STAGGERING. I realize a lot of this sort of posting came from actual scum players and that is somewhat more forgivable for scum players to do, but general malaise and apathy of the town made it possible for scum to do this without being called out or otherwise looked at for it.
