Carbink @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Rest
- Moonblast / Power Gem

Carbink, while more of a niche pick in and of itself as one's Stealth Rock user, is an absolutely fantastic counter to special variants of Combusken, while still being a decent check to physical variants. This is due to its part Fairy-typing giving its key neutrality to Z-Focus Blast and its above average defensive stats.

252 SpA Combusken All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Carbink: 127-150 (41.9 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Carbink Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Combusken: 90-106 (34.4 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 SpA Carbink Power Gem vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Combusken: 76-90 (29.1 - 34.4%) -- 3.5% chance to 3HKO

Last round we got really dry on checks, but the two we had were really solid and we also had a nice selection of strong counters to run through.

Submission Of The Round: Oathkeepre's Muk
This thing is an absolute nightmare for unprepared teams to handle, as without a proper check it can rip teams up as well as just block the existence of special busken.

Keep up the good work! I always look forward to seeing the thread because of the post quality.
Week 3: Silvally-Fighting
silvally-fighting.gif

This round, we'll be looking over the multi-colored madman, Silvally. His fighting form is capable of running multiple excellent sets for both utility and offensive purposes, and this round will focus around his Swords Dance set.

Silvally-Fighting @ Fighting Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Swords Dance
- Multi-Attack
- Ice Beam
- Zen Headbutt

Submissions will close Monday, May 27th! Good luck!

Beheeyem @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Psyshock
- Signal Beam
- Nasty Plot
- Recover

Counter. Fightingvally isn't doing anything to Beheeyem here. No U-turn, no coverage move to beat it, and the sum of those two just means Beheeyem wins everytime!
(Barring hax from freeze or flinch of course lol)

4 SpA Analytic Beheeyem Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Fighting: 320-378 (96.6 - 114.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Reserving Duosion

Duosion @ Eviolite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Recover

Duosion is a counter to Fightingvally as it doesn't take much from Ice Beam neither does it take anything from its STAB Multi-Attack nor the coverage option in Zen-Headbutt.
It can come in on anything Fightvally can go for and even at +2 or +4 Duosion can still serve as a great counterplay to Silvally-Fighting.
Duosion also has Recover to heal up any damage Silvally can spread out into Duosions way and Psychic is a guaranteed 2HKO on Silvally-Fighting. Also Eviolite increases the defensive counterplay against Fightvally even further

Calcs:
4 SpA Duosion Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Fighting: 248-294 (74.9 - 88.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

at neutral
252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Duosion: 42-51 (12.5 - 15.2%) -- possible 7HKO
252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Duosion: 25-30 (7.4 - 8.9%) -- possibly the worst move ever
4 SpA Silvally-Fighting Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Duosion: 63-75 (18.8 - 22.4%) -- possible 5HKO

at +2
+2 252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Duosion: 85-101 (25.4 - 30.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+2 252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Duosion: 51-60 (15.2 - 17.9%) -- possible 6HKO

at +4
+4 252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Duosion: 128-151 (38.3 - 45.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+4 252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Duosion: 76-90 (22.7 - 26.9%) -- 40.7% chance to 4HKO

Where is Swanna ? ;)

Spr 5b 581.png

Swanna @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Big Pecks
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Scald
- Defog
- Roost
I have put this set just because it is a really common one but practically any set of Swanna can sit in front of this Silvally-Fighting set. However, Flynium Z gives a KO and Roost prevents of getting down each time it switches in. So it is totally a counter.

Drifblim @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 76 HP / 240 Def / 192 Spe
Impish Nature
- Haze
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
- Acrobatics

Just a check as ice beam still does heavy damage, but in return Drifblim can haze away its buffs, cripple it with burn and attack with acrobatics once the berry is depleted

My apologies for the super late post; I'm a perfectionist and refused to post until I had a calculator (which does not work on mobile).

Granbull @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Heal Bell
- Toxic
- Play Rough
- Earthquake

This is one of my favorite blanket physical checks, and is a 100% switch-in to Silv-Fight. If you really want to be cheeky, you could run Rocky Helmet and get chip while it pivots (since nothing completely prevents a u-turn pivot) to add insult to injury. I just find that Aguav gets you out of a lot of rocky situations, since Bull is switching in and out a lot and taking hits that do 20-30%.

Anyways, here are the calcs for why Bull basically invalidates the VOTW:

0 Atk Granbull Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Silvally-Fighting: 236-278 (71.2 - 83.9%)
-1 252 Atk Silvally-Fighting Multi-Attack vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Granbull: 34-41 (8.8 - 10.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever
-1 252 Atk Silvally-Fighting U-turn vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Granbull: 18-21 (4.6 - 5.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever
0 SpA Silvally-Fighting Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Granbull: 94-111 (24.5 - 28.9%)

Finally, Granbull can just Heal Bell off the Toxic that Silv might toss at it.

All hail the Pink Doggod.

Alright, and with that, Victim Of The Week voting will begin!
(To add to checks, i will offer my own so there isn't an automatic win.

Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 SpA / 8 SpD / 248 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Hyper Voice
- Heat Wave
- Toxic

Noctowl is a great check to Silvally-Fighting with it's STABs, however, it needs to have a free switch in due to its rather mediocre defensive stats.
