YellowAdminSilver and nightblitz42 in "Monotype Madness!"

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD EVENING, BBP FANS! Tonight we have some very special programming planned for our lovely viewers: none other than a Monotype Challenge! In a special arena, no less! We're really pulling out all the stops here for your enjoyment. Our battlers today are two established veterans, YellowAdminSilver and nightblitz42! This not only ensures that all of the orders will be up to code, but also that the skill in this battle will be top-notch! Let's review the rules one more time for those of you just tuning in:
Rules said:
Okie, time for a second iteration of this.

Open challenge yay!
3v3 Monotype Singles
Items: All
Abilities: All
Substitutions: 3
Megas: 1
Z-moves: 0 idk
Switch: OK
36h DQ
Turn order: Coinflip
Next up, the rules for our arena today!
Special rules:
a) Trainers may bring up to two more Pokémon than the required minimum for the battle.
b) All Pokémon that are used in the battle proper must share at least one type. This does not extend to benched Pokémon. This clause takes into account only the Pokémon's natural typing, ignoring effects such as Protean or Camouflage.
c) Up to one Pokémon of each species may be used (species clause).
d) Each Pokémon must equip different items (item clause). This is probably unnecessary lol
e) Trainers may use items they haven't purchased.
f) Pokémon that change typings by means of forme changes must retain the type they share with the rest of their team.
- Ex: Mega Aggron can only be used as part of Steel-type teams, and Mega Gyarados can only be used as part of Water-type teams.
- Commands such as Exit Appliance retain the Pokémon's original types, unless the type change would retain the type shared with the rest of the team. Ex. Rotom-C can use Command: Exit Appliance as part of an Electric-type team, but not as part of a Grass-type team.
- When changing types by means of the ability Protean, the Pokémon retains the type that is shared with the rest of the team, becoming dual-typed. This does not apply to Pokémon with the ability Color Change give Kecleon a break lol. When sending out a Pokémon with Protean, the trainer must declare the type of the rest of the team if it has not been already established.
g) If you don't have enough mons to make a full five-member mono team or two three-member mono teams, you can copy one from my profile or something, just be aware that it will not gain any counters from the battle.
When switch-forcing moves are used, the subsequent roll to determine which mon gets forced out may only take into account mons that share a type with all the mons that have been sent out so far. Ex: if the bench Pokémon are two Fire-types and two Water-types with Volkraken as the active mon, roll among all four bench Pokémon. If the active Pokémon is a Delphox, roll only among the two bench Fire-types. This again only takes into account the Pokémon's natural typing
Basically the rules are set up so that each battler can choose between one full monotype team of five members or two separate teams of three members, with one Pokémon sharing both types. You can try to cover different setups with two different types, or even take this as an opportunity to try your hand at a full monotype battle, in case you're trying to prepare for a Gym Leader application.

And finally, let's introduce our battlers!
TEAM YELLOWADMINSILVER
Shamrock comes from Kanto, where he was born in breeding grounds for starter Pokémon along with many other Bulbasaurs. When he heard that he would have to become somebody's starter, he ran away from Kanto and made his way to the UK, where he hoped to find Ireland's famous grass-covered hills. Instead, he somehow ended up building bombs for the Irish Republican Army. Shamrock eventually decided that terrorism wasn't his thing and left Ireland. He was eventually found by a Pokémon proffessor, who introduced him to Silver knowing Shamrock's hatred of kids. In all honesty, the circumstances of his birth continue to trouble Shamrock, which is why he has sought proffessional help from both psychologists and bartenders. The latter can be attributed mainly to his taste for Guinness, since his natural resistance to poison and toxins apparently extends to alcohol as well, rendering him unable to get drunk.

Shamrock once travelled back in time to participate in the DYAE tournament, with less than stellar results. Some unfortunate luck and Silver's lack of experience are probably to blame.

Shamrock may or may not be hiding from MI6 at the moment.

With Grass, Ghost, and Poison as their chosen types, Silver has an offensively strong lineup. Necturna seems especially scary, and we'll no doubt be seeing her, as she branches out into every one of Silver's other types. Venusaur seems to be the only defensive backbone of the team, so tricky ordering and high speed is going to be necessary. Luckily, Gengar and Froslass fulfill those roles perfectly! All in all, a great spread of types, stats, and coverage.

With a solid offensive core of Steel and Fighting, Nightblitz seems poised to shake the house with incredibly strong attackers. Lopunny, Lucario, and Aggron all have exceedingly dangerous Mega forms, giving Nightblitz a strong backbone of options to adapt to any game state. All three of these Megas dish out ludicrous damage, and all have great coverage, to boot! With Empoleon to secure the back line defensively, this bulky offense team will definitely be a challenge no matter what Silver throws out.

With all of the lengthy exposition out of the way, let's get down to business. First order is determined by coin flip, so...hold on, lemme find a coin...damnit, where's a Meowth when you need one?

[TURN ORDER ROLL: 22]

The battle begins!

"Oh hey! Ummm, I'm not sure how well we'll do here, but we'll be sure to give you a good challenge!"

"This would go so much better for all involved if you let me come in and shred these guys."

"Not gonna lie, I have half a mind to do just that, rules be damned."

Sending out Sanetoshi the Gengar @ Gengarite!

Hey Lucario, check out this cool wristband I found! If you equip this, I don't have to sub for Counter or Bide!
"...Are you really sure about that?"

Equipping Lucario with Focus Band.

Crunch > Zen Headbutt > Bone Rush

IF damaging Fighting-Type Combination THEN Detect, pushing back.

ONCE IF Will-O-Wisp THEN Laser Focus.

IF Gengar is under the effect of Reflect Type THEN Sky Uppercut first instance, Drain Punch second, Brick Break third.
