Arena: Underwater

The entire field is submerged with water, about a 30 x 30 x 30 foot cube of water. Only water pokemon can be in this battle (you need to breathe underwater), so don't accept this battle if you don't have a water pokemon.

Kaxtar has chosen to lead with this:

Plicowatt [Magic Shrimp] (M)

Nature: Modest (+1 to Special Attack, -1 to Attack)

Type: Water / Electric

Water: Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious. Splash and Ice Moves have Energy Cost reduced by one (1).

Electric: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain.

OK GO SWIRLY THE POLIWAG

Start off with a Mud Shot, swim down to the bottom if you have to. We have to outspeed that thing. Then use Hypnosis on it to put it to sleep. Finish off with a Psychic to put it down towards the bottom of the tank.

idk how you will use mud shot with out mud on the bottom, but we'll go with it...
Start with a charge to raise your special defense and boost your electric moves. then, use detect to avoid the hypnosis. End with a charged and STAB boosted thunderbolt.

With surprising speed, Magic Shrimp takes the first initiative. He starts off by Charging up electrical power. The charge running through his body raises his Special Defense by one stage. Swirly takes this opportunity to dive down and pick up some mud, and then hurls it into Magic Shrimp's face. The Mud Shot deals respectable damage while also creating a cloud in which Magic Shrimp has trouble moving, lowering it's speed by one stage.

Swirly takes advantage of this by aiming a Hypnosis into the dark cloud of water, but Magic Shrimp has already Detected exactly where Swirly will be aiming the mystical energy and manages to get away unscathed

Swirly directs Psychic energy towards Magic Shrimp, pushing it down towards the bottom of the water and out of the blackened water which dissipates from the force of the hit. This doesn't phase Magic Shrimp though, who has saved up his electrical charge and now blasts it out towards Swirly in a Thunderbolt. Because it was used in the water, some of the electricity was absorbed into the vast amount of water, weakening the attack somewhat, and both Pokemon take some damage. Swirly still feels the strongest effects of the attack though, and is hit for a hefty chunk of HP. The amount of electricity expelled, though, used up all of the Charge Magic Shrimp saved up.

The expulsion of Magic Shrimp from the mud has returned it's speed back to regular levels.

Kaxtar, you're up!

Use Thunderbolt to start off, but make sure not to hit yourself by carefully amiing thunderbolt this time. Next use Ice beam on poliwag to freeze the water around it and keep it in place (should always freeze because I'm aiming at the water. If you disagree with this, just have Magic Shrimp use Shock Wave instead). End the round with a final Thunderbolt. If he at any time uses hypnosis, use Detect to dodge it.

Thunderbolt, Ice Beam/Shock Wave, Thunderbolt (replace any move with detect if he uses hypnosis)

Seeing as he is at the bottom of the pool swim directly above him in the murky water to help miss aim the thunderbolt while coming down hard from above with a Body Slam and hope for a paralysis. If he freezes the water he will also be frozen so use Scald on him. It should bounce back to you both healing you with water absorb and defrosting both. If he goes for shockwave use Mudshot to create some mud down the bottom so you can ground yourself. For the last move use Body Slam to go for a paralysis again.

Body Slam - Scald/Mudshot - Body Slam

The round starts off with Magic Shrimp firing off a Thunderbolt. Because he learns from his experience with the water last time, as well as Swirly coming towards him with a Body Slam, the attack is more accurate. Swirly finishes coming close and slams into Magic Shrimp, smashing it against the bottom of the pool and causing paralysis (20%)!

Swirly takes the initiative after the hard hit and, without anything to base his attack off of, takes his trainers first orders and boils the water around him with Scald. Magic Shrimp recovers and decides that Ice Beam would not be the best action with the water boiling around him, so he sends a Shock Wave towards Swirly. The wave flies through the water with little resistance and hits Swirly for super effective damage.

Swirly responds with another Body Slam, knocking Magic Shrimp back into the ground again, but again Magic Shrimp is able to get off. Because of the physical contact, though, this time Magic Shrimp is able to transfer all the electrical energy directly into Swirly, hitting it very hard with another Thunderbolt. This exchange leaves both Pokemon very close to each other at the end of the round, but Swirly has a movement advantage.

The battle is heated (not literally, the water has cooled down near where Swirly was), but Super Effective STAB seems to be winning this out. Can Swirly pull something out that we haven't seen though?

Use Mud Shot directly at it. It'll propell you away as well as leave a trail of mud between you so he can't fire off an electrical attack. If this works use an Encore on the non electric move before firing another Mud Shot.

If that first move doesn't work and he can use an electric move on you instead of encoring use Ice Beam on the water in front of you to make a wall. Then Body Slam the iceberg thing into Plicowatt to crush it under the weight.

Mud Shot
then
Encore - Mud Shot
OR
Ice Beam - Body Slam

umm, won't the ice float because it is less dense than water?

either way, use a Shock Wave to start so you can't miss Poliwag, even if the electricity is weakened by the mud. Next, use Whirlpool to trap Poliwag in place against the bottom of the tank (the suction will force poliwag to the bottom). Finish up with another Shock Wave, which he won't be able to block because he is trapped at the bottom of the tank. Great job Magic Shrimp, finish strong!!!

Magic Shrimp is still lagging from paralysis, so Swirly takes the initiative to pick up more mud and, like before, throw a Mud Shot down towards Magic Shrimp. Magic Shrimp is hit, but feels confident and rips out a Shock Wave towards Swirly. The electricity zips through the mud, softening it, but manages to find Swirly and hit it right in the eye, striking for a critical hit!

Swirly then gathers energy and shoots an Ice Beam to create a defensive barrier between itself and Magic Shrimp. Because of the positioning of the Pokemon, Swirly's "shield" is facing down towards the bottom of the pool, blocking any access for Magic Shrimp to try and hit Swirly, while also taking Swirly up, up, and away to the surface of the pool on its new floaty device. Magic Shrimp tries to circumvent this by creating a Whirlpool to suck Swirly back down into the depths, along with his lifesaver. Because of the ice block though, Swirly has risen up enough that he is able to avoid the Whirlpool. The ice block, though, is slowly being pulled into the depths of the Whirlpool. The stream of mud can be said the same.

Swirly, in a last-ditch effort, lunges forward and Body Slams the ice block in the direction of Magic Shrimp. The whirlpool messes with the trajectory, but (a good RNG roll) the ice block still hammers Magic Shrimp as it tries to get away in its gimped body. The block after impact is brought back into the whirlpool. In the process of knocking the block though, Swirly gets stuck in the Whirlpool. This doesn't stop Magic Shrimp from firing off another Shock Wave though, which this time hits Swirly head on, leaving Swirly swirling around in the Whirlpool - knocked out cold.

Note: I ran RNG rolls for just about everything this round based on what I believe a good statistical % was that each action would happen. This is how it turned out.

Congratulations Kaxtar. ILL, you had some very bad RNG rolls including no paralysis over the whole battle, any of which probably would have won you it.

Each trainer gets 2 Trainer Counters to be used as you see fit, as well as Swirly and Magic Shrimp each getting 1 EC, MC, and DC. Magic Shrimp also gets an additional KO counter. I also receive a ref counter unless I did something super stupid. GG!
