[OVERVIEW]
Wishiwashi functions as a physically defensive pivot, netting momentum for its team with its slow U-turn. Rock- and Ground-types like Regirock and Sandslash have a hard time getting past Wishiswashi, and other threats like Charizard, Sneasel, and Doublade are also at jeopardy of forfeiting positioning to Wishiwashi. This is thanks to the potent combination of Scald and U-turn, which is all it needs to force out vulnerable targets and capitalize on switch-ins. This simple yet effective strategy starts to lack consistency once Wishiwashi is worn down from repeated hits and residual damage. Once weakened, it is forced to Rest, and a sleeping Wishiwashi is a lot less reliable when it comes to checking physical attackers, especially setup sweepers like Scrafty and Silvally formes. It also struggles versus walls like Jellicent, Eldegoss, and Tangela, as they absorb its attacks and prevent it from making significant progress on its own.

[SET COMMENTS]
Rest is Wishiwashi's main form of recovery, so Sleep Talk is ran in conjunction with it to limit passivity. Minimum Speed investment is so Wishiwashi can try for the slower U-turn versus the mirror, and a mixed defensive investment could work as well for teams that rely on Wishiwashi to switch into Charizard's Hurricane. Wishiwashi's U-turn is great for offensive teammates like Galarian Articuno and Magneton, as these two prey on the Grass- and Water-types that Wishiwashi forces in. They also form a VoltTurn core, bringing Wishiwashi in on walls like Togedamaru and Gigalith. Other offensive threats like Archeops and Sneasel work to this degree, and their fragility warrants the positioning granted from the slow U-turn. Grass-types like Ferroseed and Eldegoss cover for Wishiwashi's weaknesses, and they rely on it as a switch-in to Charizard. Eldegoss along with Ribombee and Audino offer clerical support to combat the unreliability of RestTalk.
