This weeks victim is one the very best pokemons of the tier, able to beat offensive teams like no others:

Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Earthquake/Aerial Ace/Aqua Tail
- Aqua Tail/Earthquake/Aerial Ace
- Stone Edge

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 216 HP / 88 Def / 204 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Protect
- Toxic
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
Shoutout Freeroamer for showing me this set, Idk if it's the correct EV Spread, but it has a very good Defense stat and it is going to resist all the attacks that come from Mega Aerodactyl, the "biggest issue" is Aqua Tail, that is going to do around 30% after one Hone Claws. I'll show you some calcs to proof that it's very effective. Bronzong can setup Stealth Rock and scout some Pokémon with Protect too. Toxic is useful as fuck to defeat things like Cresselia and Celebi 1v1 when paired with Protect.

+1 252 Atk Aerodactyl Aqua Tail vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Bronzong: 94-111 (27.8 - 32.8%) -- 78.2% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam / Moonblast
- Moonlight
Counter (I think)
CM Cresselia takes absolutely nothing from Stone Edge (doesn't take 50% until it's at +2, but can't even 2HKO anyway without rocks), can Calm Mind up in MAero's face and 2HKO it with Ice Beam. If it gets crit by a +1 MAero, you can Moonlight and be just fine. Moonblast still allows you to beat Aero and hit Sableye and Suicune, but it'll take longer. There's no way that Aero can kill you in 3 hits, which means even if you never get the chance to Calm Mind, you'll beat it with Ice Beam + Moonlight, while Aero can only safely get off 1 Hone Claws.

Mega Aerodactyl:
252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Cresselia: 108-127 (24.4 - 28.7%) -- 54.8% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+1 252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Cresselia: 160-189 (36.2 - 42.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Surf is a 62% chance to OHKO and at modest you can't get fast enough at +2. Use it if it's your secondary check and you have something like Doublade

Omastar as a Check

Ok before you judge me hear me out. This is obviously a shaky check to Aero as it can just switch out, and compounding that, a very niche pokemon as is. However, it is one of the better checks you could run on a HO team for Aero.

The set works because Endure and Sash guarantees that you get to +2 speed (if you switch on the Hone Claws there has to be no hazards).

Ability: Torrent
EVs: 212 HP / 252 SpA / 44 Spe
Modest Nature
- Defog | Stealth Rock
- Hydro Pump | Scald
- Ice Beam

Empoleon as a Check. With the exception of an predicted EQ in-switch, Empoleon does a good job checking Mega Aerodactyl, taking a 4HKO~5HKO against Mega Aero's STABs and Aqua Tail, while Hydro Pump or Scald (you need to be at Torrent's range) OHKOs Aerodactyl in return. Like Cobalion, it's very useful to check Mega Aero while providing role compression for offensive teams.

Reserving Mega Aggron

Aggron @ Aggronite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake

Well, Simply put Mega Aggron is one of the best Counters to Mega Aero. With it's mega removing it's Rock typing and giving it Filter for an Ability, basically put all of M-Aero's STABs get walled here out right. Even at +1 the moves will not even be able to do enough to 2HKO. With Aggron going back at M-Aero, once switched in he can tank a hit at unboosted and at +1, if unboosted you can take at least 1 more hit before having to deal with it or you can just make the OHKO outright with Heavy Slam.

M-Aggron > M-Aerodactyl

0 Atk Mega Aggron Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Aerodactyl: 396-468 (131.5 - 155.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

M-Aero > M-Aggron

252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 16+ Def Filter Mega Aggron: 73-87 (21.2 - 25.2%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO

Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Rain Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch / Power-Up Punch

Mega Swampert is a great answer to Mega Aerodactyl, as it can switch into anything at least once and win barring hax. While it doesn't have recovery and therefore lacks the reliability of more defensive checks, it's a good option for offensive teams that can't afford the momentum sink of Pokemon like Suicune and Bronzong. This is especially valuable as offensive teams tend to have trouble with Mega Aerodactyl. On top of this, it's also a good sweeper and wincon. If that role isn't needed, the bulkier offensive Stealth Rock set is also a solid choice.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 240 HP / 212 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
- Roar
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Scald

Suicune is one of, if not the best counter to Mega Aerodactyl. With its impressive all-around bulk it can easily tank attacks from Mega Aerodactyl and always threaten it out with Scald. This particular set is the RoarCune with Sleep Talk set simply because you don't want to give Hone Claws Mega Aerodactyl any extra free turns to setup whatsoever since Stone Edge has a chance to strike critically, while hitting extremely hard boosted anyways. Overall, Suicune is perhaps the most comfortable switch-in to Mega Aerodactyl in the entire tier.

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
- Toxic

Quagsire is probably one of the best ways to deal with MAero (Especially if we're talking about the Hone Claws variant); taking pitiful damage from any attack MAero throws at it and ignoring boosts thanks to Unaware, it can retaliate doing decent damage with Scald or cripple it with Toxic makes it a pretty effective counters for the usual sets.
Being able to avoid a 2HKO from a double Aerial Ace / Aqua Tail crit after SR is nice to have as well, especially considering it has access to Recover.

252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Aerodactyl Aerial Ace vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire on a critical hit: 157-186 (39.8 - 47.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Aerodactyl Aqua Tail vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire on a critical hit: 158-186 (40.1 - 47.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Umbreon as a counter. Foul Play cleanly 2HKOes unboosted Aerodactyl while Aerodactyl only 4HKOes with Stone Edge and Stealth Rock upon Umbreon switching in while Stone Edge at +1 only 3HKOes Umbreon while a boosted Aerodactyl has a chance to get OHKOed by Foul Play. Protect removes any chance of getting 2HKOed by Stone Edge at +1 barring a crit.

Steelix-Mega @ Steelixite
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock

- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam
This bulky beast resists both its stabs and hence is a great check to Aero-mega. Not necessarily a counter as unboosted aqua tail is a 3hko and 2hko at +1. It can OHKO it back it with heavy slam. Standard ev spread and moveset with rocks.

Calcs:~
Mega-aero's attacks:
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Aerodactyl Aqua Tail vs. 252 HP / 56+ Def Mega Steelix: 112-132 (31.6 - 37.2%) -- 84.1% chance to 3HKO

0 Atk Mega Steelix Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Aerodactyl: 356-422 (118.2 - 140.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Doublade as a hard check.

Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance

Doublade switches in on unboosted Aerodactyl and takes 2 unboosted Earthquakes or, if Aerodactyl boosts to +1 attack on the switch, takes the +1 boosted Earthquake on the following turn. In return Doublade either OHKOs Aero with Iron Head (81%) or damages it enough to the point where it is picked off by Shadow Sneak. If Aerodactyl somehow ends up with +2 attack Doublade can still take the Earthquake, even if it has taken prior damage, and OHKO back.

Aerodactyl EQ Calcs:

252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Doublade: 106-126 (33.2 - 39.4%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO

+1 252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Doublade: 158-188 (49.5 - 58.9%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Doublade: 212-250 (66.4 - 78.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Defog / Taunt
- U-turn / Taunt

Crobat is a check to Conkeldurr. It outpseeds and OHKOes with Brave Bird, and takes little from the Fighting-type STAB moves. It doesn't appreciate taking Knock Off, but even if it loses its item it still OHKOes 81.3% of the time after Stealth Rock damage. It can also Roost relatively safely on further Knock Offs if you need to keep bat healthy; although, because bat will only gain significant net HP when Conk switches out, the Conk user can potentially force it to stay weakened by spamming Knock until bat kills with Brave Bird. It also can't take an Ice Punch. However, it is a good safety net from a late game Mach Punch sweep assuming you can keep bat alive and discourages Hammer Arm spam in general. The EV spread outruns Whimsicott and maximized attack, with the extra dumped in HP for added bulk. Whether to use a faster EV spread or not is up to user preference.

Physically defensive Sylveon as a check.

Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Wish
- Heal Bell
Physically defensive Slyveon takes everything except for Poison Jab reasonably well, OHKOs with Hyper Voice or heals back HP with Wish. When Conkeldurr uses Thunder Punch/Ice Punch on the switch AND Rocks are up Sylveon has to Protect in order to avoid the 2HKO 100% of the time. Since Hammer Arm decreases Conkeldurr's speed, Sylveon will threaten it with the OHKO from Hyper Voice which opens up the opportunity to Wish right back up to full HP. Sylveon will have trouble to consistently check CB Conkeldurr throughout the course of an entire match because of Knock Off and chip damage, but will be able to act as a pivot for some turns at least. Enough speed investment to outrun Adamant Conkeldurr without a speed drop is an option, but the loss in bulk is very noticeable and generally not recommended.

What exactly switches into Choice Band Conkeldurr when it uses the appropriate coverage move though...

Weezing, believe it or not, is a flat out counter to CB Conkeldurr. It absorbs Hammer Arms with relative ease and can easily tank a Knock Off so it can retaliate with a Wisp or heal with Pain Split. It also beats BU Conkeldurr through virtue of Haze and its typing + bulk. Simply seeing the calcs below give you a comfortable amount insurance against the BU variant. It also doesn't serve as a simple "Conk" counter. It also checks a wide range of other mons such as Mega Aero and has a decent amount utility in Toxic Spikes.

Physically defensive Arcanine as a check

Arcanine @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Morning Sun
- Fire spin
- Toxic / Protect
Some earthquake users that dont have enough damage after geting burned like donphan can be traped by fire spin and get killed pretty easily with this set. If you are worried about Morning sun having low pp, protect will help your leftovers recovery. Toxic is an option into chandelure, as people wont let an intimidated conk deal with an arcanine so it depends on what your team is more weak to.

Arcanine @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Morning Sun
- Extremespeed
- Overheat/Flare Blitz
In case your team can cover chandelure well and has some extra defensive options, you might wanna run extreme speed as one of the best priority moves you may get in the tier. I personally prefer overheat because people tend to switch physical walls into arcanine, and those will probably make you switch out anyway, not allowing the recovery of flare blitz recoil, but both are really strong stab moves and can be considered.
Defensive arcanine can take even super-effective hits from a lot of mons due to intimidate. Covers the most conkeldurr sets, not only the shown above, so players won't be afraid to switch into ice punch-poison jab-thunder punch variations. Will-O-wisp setting also helps on reducing damage/recovery from switch-ins. A bit frail to rocks, which is the main reason im nominating it as a check, can still recover the damage using morning sun.
-1 252+ Atk Choice Band Iron Fist Conkeldurr Ice Punch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Arcanine: 47-56 (12.2 - 14.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever
