[SET COMMENTS]
Urshifu-R serves as a wallbreaker that fits on bulky offense and rain teams. Swords Dance on top of very strong Base Power moves in Surging Strikes and Close Combat means that Urshifu-R can effectively break through a variety of defensive cores, especially with Terastallization. This includes Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, Ting-Lu, and Unaware Clodsire. Urshifu-R's Water / Fighting typing gives it chances to pivot into offensive Pokemon such as Weavile and Mega Scizor, providing it defensive utility as well. Taunt lets Urshifu-R pressure defensive Pokemon and prevent Toxic and Haze from being used while negating recovery on checks without Regenerator such as Pelipper, Dragonite, and Buzzwole. Ice Punch pressures checks such as Dragonite and Dragapult. A boosted Aqua Jet is able to KO a chipped Tapu Koko, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny, especially with support from Pelipper's rain and Tera Water. Thunder Punch can be used to pressure or break through bulky Water-types that would normally wall Urshifu-R, such as Pelipper, Tapu Fini, Toxapex, Slowbro, and Dondozo, but it is generally outclassed by the aforementioned options. Punching Gloves is the preferred option for boosting both Thunder Punch's and Surging Strikes's base power and preventing Rocky Helmet recoil. Swords Dance- and Tera Water-boosted Surging Strikes is able to break past checks such as Buzzwole, Dragonite, Tera Fairy Skeledirge, and Iron Hands, especially when supported by rain from Pelipper. Pelipper is one of the best partners for Urshifu-R because it provides rain support, boosting Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes to absurd levels. Tornadus-T is a great teammate for Urshifu-R, as it appreciates Urshifu-R's ability to break past Ferrothorn, Clodsire, Garchomp, and Blissey while soft checking Weavile and Tyranitar. In return, Tornadus-T with Taunt is able to take on defensive Water-types such as Dondozo and Toxapex as well as Kartana. Tornadus-T can also utilize Supersonic Skystrike to break shared checks such as Tapu Koko and Toxapex. Mega Diancie, Ferrothorn, and Garchomp are valuable partners for setting entry hazards to wear down Urshifu-R's checks such as Buzzwole, Dragapult, and Tangrowth. Tapu Koko is another synergistic partner for being able to pivot into Toxapex and other defensive Water-types. Future Sight support from Tapu Lele and Slowbro is much appreciated to make it easier for Urshifu-R to take on Dondozo, Tangrowth, Toxapex, and Buzzwole without using Terastallization or Swords Dance. Dragon-types such as Dragonite and Dragapult are also threats, since they resist all of Urshifu-R's common moves bar Ice Punch, can threaten it out with Choice Specs-boosted attacks in Dragapult's case, or Dragon Dance in front of Urshifu-R, though Dragapult cannot switch into Urshifu-R multiple times. Garganacl also acts as a consistent check to Dragapult, sets Stealth Rock for Urshifu-R, provides a consistent switch-in to Skeledirge, as well as Toxapex and Dondozo when Terastallized into a Fairy- or Water-type, and pressures them for Urshifu-R with Salt Cure. If not running Taunt, Swords Dance Urshifu-R struggles with bulky Unaware threats like Tera Fairy Skeledirge and Dondozo, so special wallbreakers such as Tapu Lele, Choice Specs Tapu Koko, Tera Grass Heatran, and Flyinium Z Tornadus-T are appreciated.

[SET COMMENTS]
Urshifu-R is a very strong wallbreaker and pivot that pressures defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Ting-Lu, and Unaware Clodsire. Urshifu-R can pivot into offensive Pokemon such as Weavile and Mega Scizor, but prefers to not lose its item. Since Urshifu-R forces switches with its STAB combo, U-turn is an excellent move to generate momentum on these switches, letting it bring in a teammate. Aqua Jet allows for Urshifu-R to KO a chipped Tapu Koko, Mega Medicham, Mega Lopunny, and pre-Tera Volcarona. Ice Punch hits Dragapult and Dragonite super effectively. Tera Water is the preferred Tera type, as once Rocky Helmet users are knocked off by a supporting partner and Garchomp and Ferrothorn are dealt with, Tera Water-boosted Surging Strikes can overwhelm checks such as Pelipper, Tera Water Garganacl, Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Slowbro, especially with support from Pelipper's rain. Pelipper is a fantastic partner for Urshifu-R by virtue of it providing rain, which strengthens Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes. Entry hazard setters such as Glimmora, Garchomp, Clodsire, and Ferrothorn can help in wearing down its checks. Tapu Lele is a fantastic partner by providing Future Sight support, which lets Urshifu-R beat checks like Dragonite, Skeledirge, and Toxapex for Urshifu-R, as well as appreciating Urshifu-R's ability to pivot into Heatran and take on Ferrothorn. Urshifu-R struggles with defensive Water-types and Tangrowth, so partners such as Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T pair well with it. Tapu Koko also forms a pivot core with it, being able to consistently switch into Toxapex and Slowbro, and powering up Urshifu-R's Thunder Punch, while Urshifu-R pressures Ferrothorn for Tapu Koko. Tornadus-T is able to pressure defensive Water-types such as Toxapex with Taunt, check Kartana, remove entry hazards so that Urshifu-R can come in more often, bring Urshifu-R in with U-turn, and even utilize Supersonic Skystrike to break past shared checks such as Tapu Koko and the aforementioned defensive Water-types. Tornadus-T also appreciates Urshifu-R's ability to break Ferrothorn, while soft checking Tyranitar and Weavile. Urshifu-R struggles with Dragonite, so it appreciate partners such as Ferrothorn, Tangrowth, Pelipper, or Tera Fairy/Water Garganacl to help take on Dragonite. Rocky Helmet users such as Garchomp and Buzzwole make it harder for Urshifu-R to freely use Surging Strikes, so Knock Off support from users such as Weavile and Toxapex is much appreciated. Weavile in particular is able to take on Tornadus-T, Tangrowth, Dragonite, and Garchomp while also pressuring Toxapex. Urshifu-R is forced out by faster special attackers such as Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, Tapu Koko, and Tornadus-T, so Ferrothorn and Heatran are great partners for taking on these Pokemon and also providing entry hazard support. Pivots such as Rotom-W, Landorus-T, and Dragapult are good partners for being able to bring in Urshifu-R consistently throughout a game to wallbreak.

  • Urshifu-R serves as a wallbreaker that fits on Bulky Offense and Rain teams. Access to Swords Dance on top of very strong BP moves in Surging Strikes and Close Combat means that Urshifu-R can effectively break through a variety of defensive cores, especially with access to Terastallization. (elaborate on the kinds of pokemon it breaks. you definitely still struggle into pokemon like dnite/torn and the like and that forces you to tera, which they can capitalize on themselves.)
  • add another point explaining how its typing gives it chances, though few, to come in on offensive pokemon like weav/msciz etc, giving it a niche defensively
  • Thunder Punch can be used to pressure or break through bulky waters that would normally wall Urshifu-R, such as Pelipper, Tapu Fini, Toxapex, Slowbro, and Dondozo. Aqua Jet can also be used as a form of strong priority, especially with support from Pelipper's Rain and Water-type Terastallization. (mention the faster threats that you ko with aqua jet; its not only prio. you gotta specify this.) Finally, Taunt can be used to limit recovery on common defensive checks such as Slowbro, Toxapex, and Dondozo, although Thunder Punch generally pressures these options well.
  • Punching Gloves is the preferred option for boosting both Thunder Punch's and Surging Strikes's base power and preventing Rocky Helmet recoil, but a set with Electrium Z can also be used for the ability to OHKO physically defensive Toxapex and Slowbro after a single Swords Dance.
  • Tera Water Surging Strikes is able to break past checks such as Buzzwole, Pelipper, Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Toxapex, (u kinda just tpunch these, go thru other mons that urshifu normally doesnt break and add them here) especially when supported by Rain from Pelipper and boosted by Swords Dance. Tera Electric Thunder Punch improves the matchup against Dondozo and other defensive water-types without relying on Rain support.
  • Urshifu-R runs max Attack and Speed EVs, preferring a Jolly nature to outspeed threats like Great Tusk, Gholdengo, offensive Landorus-T, and Tapu Lele, but an Adamant nature can be used for more consistent damage rolls against Urshifu-R's checks. (max max ev spreads are obvious and no need to explain those; you can definitely add something on adamant like you did here, but dont include anything about the ev sperad itself.)
  • Pelipper is one of the best partners for Urshifu-R, because it provides Rain support, boosting Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes to absurd levels. Zapdos is a great teammate for Urshifu-R and appreciates Urshifu-R's ability to break past Ferrothorn, Clodsire, and Garchomp while being a consistent switch-in to Chien Pao. (you'd use torn over zap and chien pao is banned, reword to fit that criteria. mention how torn also appreciates urshifu checking ttar and breaking past special walls) In return, Zapdos is able to take on defensive water-types such as Dondozo and Toxapex as well as opposing Tornadus-T and Rillaboom. (taunt torn is effectively doing the same thing and you have a good amount of offensive checks to opposing torn on rain + your own ferro.) Similar to Zapdos, Tornadus-T can also pairs well with Urshifu-R and can utilize Supersonic Skystrike to break wear down shared checks such as Tapu Koko and Toxapex. Garchomp is a valuable partner for setting entry hazards to wear down Urshifu-R's checks (such as?), while also taking on electric types such as Zapdos. (you're shaky at best vs every electric type in the tier really; washtom can wisp, koko can hp ice, etc) Tapu Koko is another synergistic partner for setting up Electric Terrain to boost Urshifu-R's Thunder Punch, while also being able to pivot into Toxapex and other defensive Water-types.
  • Swords Dance Urshifu-R struggles with bulky unaware threats like Tera Fairy Skeledirge and Dondozo, so Future Sight support from Tapu Lele Slowbro, and Slowking is much appreciated. (this doesnt seem all that correlated to me. would really just elaborate on specific partners to take care of them and put the future sight part in its own sentence.) Tapu Lele in particular is able to not only break past these two threats, but also form a strong wallbreaking core with Urshifu-R thanks to its immensely strong Psychic- and Fairy-type attacks, which synergize well with Urshifu-R's powerful Water- and Fighting-type attacks. (covered this in the last comment but this is also really vague; elaborate on the specific things that they break for each other; of course, include this in the future sight sentence requested above) Dragapult is another immensely dangerous threat, since it resists all of Urshifu-R's common moves and can threaten it out with Choice Specs-boosted attacks mention dd setting up for free. Because of this, specially defensive Clodsire is another fantastic partner for Urshifu-R, since it is able to take on special attackers such as Tapu Koko, Zapdos and Tornadus-T for Urshifu-R, while also providing hazard support for it. mention checks to dd as well

Tera Electric Thunder Punch improves the matchup against Dondozo and other defensive water-types without relying on Rain support. mention that it removes the flying weakness, which helps bait torn
  • Urshifu-R prefers a Jolly nature to outspeed threats like Great Tusk, Gholdengo, offensive Landorus-T, and Tapu Lele, but an Adamant nature can be used for more consistent damage rolls against Urshifu-R's checks.

A boosted Aqua Jet is able to KO a chipped Tapu Koko, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny adjust these to the new slashes, and add tpunch just as a mention but add that its generally outclassed by the slashes , as well as OHKO Cinderace, Volcarona, and Blaziken if they have not Terastallized blaze isnt even ranked, ace is c tier, and volc as the sole example sucks. i think u can combine this sentence + the previous one together, seperating them feels weird and too much words for “aqua jet hit fast stuff strong priority”. Finally, Taunt can be used to limit recovery on common defensive checks such as Slowbro, Toxapex, and Dondozo, although Thunder Punch generally pressures these options well.

Tera Electric Thunder Punch improves the matchup against Dondozo and other defensive water-types without relying on Rain support. Tera Electric also baits Tornadus-T by flipping Urshifu-R's Flying-type matchup. please cut down on the donzo mentions thruout this, the mon isnt that good to be mentioned in every other line
  • Urshifu-R prefers a Jolly nature to outspeed threats like Great Tusk, Gholdengo, offensive Landorus-T, and Tapu Lele, but an Adamant nature can be used for more consistent damage rolls against Urshifu-R's checks. ada sucks

Future Sight support from Tapu Lele, Slowbro, and Slowking ok as a rule of thumb, do not use anything below b+/b as examples, they are far too niche. even b is a bit low for me but i can understand for some if they are notable / consistent cplay. unless these mons are very specific, individual mons which are hard counterplay to whatever mon ur writing about, do not list them is much appreciated to make it easier for Urshifu-R to take on Dondozo, Tangrowth, Toxapex, and Buzzwole without using Terastallization or Swords Dance. Dragapult is another immensely dangerous threat, since it resists all of Urshifu-R's common moves, can threaten it out with Choice Specs-boosted attacks, or Dragon Dance in front of Urshifu-R i would tone down this a bit lol, mon takes like 50 from ss without tera, its a one time switch in at best. Because of this, specially defensive Clodsire is another fantastic partner for Urshifu-R, since it is able to take on special attackers such as Tapu Koko, Zapdos and Tornadus-T for Urshifu-R, while also providing hazard support for it this doesnt make sense, u say because of pult u run spd clod but then talk about everything bar pult? also these are some worrywhirl choices, dd pult destroys clod, zapdos is rlly not a relevant mon i would mention, or even a mon that beats shifu in the first place, and torn is very annoying for clod as a whole since its knock bait. Garganacl also acts as a consistent check to Dragapult, sets Stealth Rock for Urshifu-R, provides a consistent switch into Skeledirge, and Toxapex and Dondozo when Terastallized into a Fairy- or Water-type, and pressures them for Urshifu-R with Salt Cure.

  • role that the Pokemon plays: wallbreaker/pivot
  • coverage moves that affect its role: Thunder Punch potentially for bulky waters but not that strong without Tera Electric, generally not preferred (2hko on Dondozo).
  • if/when the Pokemon uses Terastal: once rocky helm users are out of the field, Tera water surging strikes can overwhelm resists/checks; tera electric to beat dondozo + toxapex + fini + slowbro
  • EV spread in one sentence or less: max max for most power and speed while outspeeding kyurem, lele, tusk, gholdengo
  • brief example of teammates that benefit from the Pokemon's presence: lele, zapdos, tornadus-t, koko
  • brief example of foes that the Pokemon is vulnerable to + teammates to help cover them: weak to zap, tornadus-t, ferro, dondozo, toxapex, slowbro, fini: appreciates pelipper + chomp + clodsire + zap/torn-t for this

make it only jolly, ada sucks
i think u can nuke the tera elec option as well, its cool but like, tera water does the same thing vs torn and the only reason u wld use it is tpunch which is bleh
ss hits harder than ice punch on torn t, change that to pult, and cc hits tang harder, i think just pult dnite is fine.
give a larger variety in examples, mdia and ferro are also good hazard setters, not just chomp for example
considering taunt is literally the first slash, maybe saying it struggles with bulky unaware threats like (2 pokemon it beats with taunt) isnt the best option.
add on dnite with pult in the checks section and make it ”dragon types such as dnite and pult ….”
nuke clod mention its far too passive for sd shifu to work with well

set 2
nuke tpunch mentions (and on set) and make slashes jet / ice punch and adjust consistently
tpunch hits 4 mons, one is pelliper (lol), pex and bro takes 45 on average, then swap out and heal 90% of that back up for free. water skeledirge isnt even 2hkoed by it and is hit harder by cc
maybe in the lele fs section add more things, or generalise it like “let it beat its checks like dnite skeledirge pex easier“
torn is not taunting fini bc fini does nothing to it, its knocking off then uturning, so change that
blissey is not a real pokemon, nuke
clod also sucks as a partner, v slow, u want pivots (rotom lando pult etc)

as a rule of thumb, try to stick to b/b+ mons when giving examples unless very specific. everything below that generally is v niche or sucks balls

lmk when done

specific that non taunt sets only struggle with the unawares
Tera Electric provides Urshifu-R with a boosted Thunder Punch to beat Water-type resists and flips the matchup against Tornadus-T, letting Urshifu-R beat it one-on-one.
nuke this

rest is good gj 2/2

Access to Swords Dance on top of very strong Base Power BP moves in Surging Strikes and Close Combat means that Urshifu-R can effectively break through a variety of defensive cores, especially with access to Terastallization. This includes Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, Ting-Lu, and Unaware Clodsire. Urshifu-R's Water / Fighting typing Water- and Fighting-typing gives it chances to pivot into offensive Pokemon such as Weavile and Mega Scizor, providing it defensive utility as well. Taunt lets Urshifu-R pressure is a great option for pressuring defensive Pokemon and prevent preventing Toxic and Haze from being used (rc) while negating recovery on checks without Regenerator such as Pelipper, Dragonite, and Buzzwole. Ice Punch pressures checks such as Dragonite and Dragapult. A boosted Aqua Jet is able to KO a chipped Tapu Koko, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny, especially with support from Pelipper's rain Rain and Tera Water. Water-type Terastallization. Thunder Punch can be used to pressure or break through bulky Water-types waters that would normally wall Urshifu-R, such as Pelipper, Tapu Fini, Toxapex, Slowbro, and Dondozo, but it is generally outclassed by the aforementioned options. Punching Gloves is the preferred option for boosting both Thunder Punch's and Surging Strikes's base power and preventing Rocky Helmet recoil. Swords Dance- and Tera Water-boosted Surging Strikes is able to break past checks such as Buzzwole, Dragonite, Tera Fairy Skeledirge, and Iron Hands, especially when supported by rain Rain from Pelipper. (period) and boosted by Swords Dance. Pelipper is one of the best partners for Urshifu-R (rc) because it provides rain Rain support, boosting Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes to absurd levels. Tornadus-T is a great teammate for Urshifu-R, (ac) as it and appreciates Urshifu-R's ability to break past Ferrothorn, Clodsire, Garchomp, and Blissey (rc) while soft checking being a soft check to Weavile and Tyranitar. In return, Tornadus-T with Taunt is able to take on defensive Water-types water-types such as Dondozo and Toxapex as well as opposing Kartana. Tornadus-T can also utilize Supersonic Skystrike to break shared checks such as Tapu Koko and Toxapex. Mega Diancie, Ferrothorn, and Garchomp are valuable partners for setting entry hazards to wear down Urshifu-R's checks, (ac) such as Buzzwole, Dragapult, and Tangrowth. Tapu Koko is another synergistic partner for setting up Electric Terrain to boost Urshifu-R's Thunder Punch, while also being able to pivot into Toxapex and other defensive Water-types. (not sure on this being kept, just remove the thunder punch part bc its not apart of the main set) Future Sight support from Tapu Lele and Slowbro is much appreciated to make it easier for Urshifu-R to take on Dondozo, Tangrowth, Toxapex, and Buzzwole without using Terastallization or Swords Dance. Dragon-types such as Dragonite and Dragapult are also other threats, since they resist resists all of Urshifu-R's common moves bar Ice Punch, can threaten it out with Choice Specs-boosted attacks in Dragapult's case, or Dragon Dance in front of Urshifu-R, though Dragapult cannot switch into Urshifu-R multiple times. Garganacl also acts as a consistent check to Dragapult, sets Stealth Rock for Urshifu-R, provides a consistent switch-in to switch into Skeledirge, as well as and Toxapex and Dondozo when Terastallized into a Fairy- or Water-type, and pressures them for Urshifu-R with Salt Cure. Choice Band Urshifu-R can still pivot into offensive Pokemon such as Weavile and Mega Scizor, but prefers to not lose its item. Since Urshifu-R forces switches with its STAB combo, U-turn is an excellent move to generate momentum on these switches, letting it Urshifu-R bring in a the appropriate teammate. Aqua Jet allows for Urshifu-R to KO a chipped Tapu Koko, Mega Medicham, Mega Lopunny, and pre-Tera Volcarona. Volcarona that has not terastallized. Ice Punch hits Dragapult and Dragonite super effectively. Tera Water is the preferred Tera type, as onceprimary Terastallization choice. Once Rocky Helmet users are knocked off by a supporting partner (rc) and Garchomp and Ferrothorn are dealt with, Tera Water-boosted Surging Strikes can overwhelm checks such as Pelipper, Tera Water Garganacl, Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Slowbro, especially with support from Pelipper's rain. Rain. Pelipper is a fantastic partner for Urshifu-R by virtue of it providing rain, which strengthens providing Rain support, powering Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes. Urshifu-R struggles with defensive Water-types and Tangrowth, so partners such as Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T pair well with it. Tapu Koko also forms pairs well with Urshifu-R as well, by forming a pivot core with it, being able to consistently switch into Toxapex and Slowbro, and powering up Urshifu-R's Thunder Punch, (again, this isn't on the main set, so i would remove this) while Urshifu-R pressures Ferrothorn for Tapu Koko. Tornadus-T is able to pressure defensive Water-types such as Toxapex with Taunt, check take on Kartana, remove entry hazards so that Urshifu-R can come in more often, bring Urshifu-R in with U-turn, pivot into Urshifu-R, and even utilize Supersonic Skystrike to break past shared checks such as Tapu Koko and the aforementioned defensive Water-types. Tornadus-T also is a great teammate for Urshifu-R and appreciates Urshifu-R's ability to break Ferrothorn (rc) while soft checking being a soft check to Tyranitar and Weavile. Urshifu-R struggles with Dragonite, so it appreciates partners such as Ferrothorn, Tangrowth, Pelipper, and Tera Fairy or Water Garganacl to help take on Dragonite. Rocky Helmet users such as Garchomp and Buzzwole make it harder for Urshifu-R to freely use Surging Strikes, so Knock Off support from support from Knock Off users such as Weavile and Toxapex is are much appreciated.
