Gastrodon + Escavalier

Nobody seems to realize how well these two pokemon are carried, both fine escavalier their weaknesses are covers the weak of grass type of Gastrodon and Gastrodon covers the weakness of fire type of escavalier.

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 186 HP / 252 Def / 70 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Toxic/Ice Beam
- Recover

Escavalier @ Assault Vest
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Drill Run
After a bit of discussion, I am going to have to deny this request as Gastrodon is just not viable whatsoever and as such cannot be reliably built into a well made team. The reason being is that it is a "bulky" Water that has a water immunity yet cannot beat cune, nor can it be a good fire resist, and it lacks Rocks unlike another Water immune mon, Seismitoad (who could possibly work here). Also the Escavalier set is subpar as Assault Vest is not a very good item on Escavalier. Overall, I am sorry to deny, but you are welcome to offer up another mon / core for us to build around. Hope you understand :)

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast / Hyper Voice

Fun Melo set, beats most other CM Psychics as long as they don't get in first due to having a faster Psyshock, also not revenged by Chandy or standard Doublade (+1 Shadow Ball OHKOs 252 HP / 0 SpD Doublade after rocks). Not having fighting resistance kinda sucks. Being slower than Krook also kinda sucks. Outspeeds Heracross, which is commonly used to beat the slower bulky Psychics. Nice base stats, decent movepool. Hard to tell what set a Melo's running at first. Takes special moves like a champ. Has decent physical bulk as well. Presence of commonly seen mons that are both faster than Meloetta and have a strong supereffective move that can KO it holds it back (Krook, Bee, Mega Sharpedo among others).

Edit: Also not dicked by Hoopa

Sharpedo @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Fang

I really want to see a good mega shark uu team. I've always had trouble with making a good team, so I wanted to see how you guys would do. This is a normal mega shark, and I mainly want a balanced type of team, but still with a nice mix of offensive mons. I want the team to be able to handle its own, but I also want it to be able to support mega sharpedo.

I love this thread, and I've been enjoying toying around on the ladder with these teams, particularly iWanka's LO Entei team. My request I suppose is a little peculiar, but could somebody build a balance or offensive team based around CM Cobalion? I noticed this recently on the analysis page for Cobalion, and I've found myself oddly taken with the set, though I haven't been able to build a satisfying team around it yet. I like the idea of somebody thinking to themselves "all right, I'll just go to Doublade, my Cobalion counter," only to find in short order that Doublade is not, in this case, the Cobalion counter.

Please explain why you want a team built with this i.e. are you having problems, you really like the idea behind the core, etc. and explain what kind of team / if the builder has freedom to change the sets to their liking or so on.

Hey y'all. Just wanted to check whether someone is working on my request of a Tailwind offense team with Mixed Nidoking and whimsicott

Cloud Cuckooland
So what immedately struck me when I saw the core was the firepower of Shaymin+Entei. Those two were both bulky yet powerful wallbreakers. I really wanted to capitalize on their ability to just destroy a lot of common cores. From there I added some support in the form of Coballion and Hydreigion. Coballion helps set up rocks is and is a very valid cleaner who sweeps with SD. Taunt Roost Hydreigion helps put a lot of Pressure on Balance builds and stops walls from recovering after taking shots from the wallbreaker duo. Mega Aero provides some fast support with defog. Slowking is a back up sweeper with a lot of bulk. ALternatively, Slowking can also opt for Twave over calm mind to help against nascar threats like DD mence.

Note: I know you wanted AV slowking but I found that a mediocre option as a part of the core because AV slowking isn't an effective answer to fire spam. This really puts a lot of pressure to stack types to have a fire answer which isn't benefical for the team. A physically defensive slowking helps solve a lot of bulk problems while also providing a wincon, something that AV could not do. CM Slowking overall is just a better set than AV Slowking.

Anyhow I believe this is the lab's first two-in-one so props to me but honestly that's the reason I chose both requests to build around anyways. Mega Sharpedo and Slurpuff are two amazing cleaners that can easily sweep the opponent with the appropriate support. The team basically aims to support that while not being particularly weak to much if you play your cards right (key offense component here, prediction is required people :P). Doublade + Hydrei core supports basically every cleaner in the tier lmao and it helps add some defensive synergy to make pivoting easier. Gyro Ball Doublade cos fuck DD Salamence. Focus Sash Azelf lead because it's so fucking consistent as long as you know when to Taunt, when to Knock and when to boom. Overall pretty good offensive team that focuses on ensuring it gets to weaken the opposing team to ensure one of either cleaners is able to clean.

Wanna see a balanced or offensive team built around these guys! Doublade can beat Fairy, Flying and is immune to fighting type attacks, whilst Panda smashes stall, and beats Dark Types for Doublade. Both can weaken each others checks/counters comfortably.

So I went through several variations on this Doublade/Pangoro core before I came up with something I was happy with. The main problem I kept running into was how painfully slow the core was. While Pangoro possesses some natural bulk, it can't really switch in on anything because it needs to retain its health in order to have any setup opportunities. While it was decent at breaking balance cores with its incredibly powerful Knock Off, I consistently ran into trouble every time I tried to build a more offensive team framework.

So, instead, I switched to a more balanced approach. To add in some speed I went with Mega-Beedrill, which helped bring in Pangoro to wallbreak against the walls opponents switched in to Beedrill. Instead of Knock Off/Drill Run I went with Toxic Spikes in the last move, because I found that T-Spikes really helped pressure the opposing team, and especially helped Panda break walls early on and Doublade/Florges sweep late game. Then I added the hazard core of Swampert and offensive Defog Mence, and finished things off with Florges to sponge special hits early game and sweep late game.

It works fairly well, capitalizing on Panda's assets as a balance breaker rather than trying to turn it into a sweeper, and letting Doublade and Florges finish up late game instead. Hope you like it!

Hey dude, sorry for the wait, this one was a doozy. Anyways, I ended up caving and not building with Offensive CM Florges but not for lack of trying. The main issue I saw with Offensive Florges is that it felt like it was trying to do too much. When you dedicate a slot to CM you then sort of need Synthesis and from there you start to lose the cool coverage that gives CM Florges its draw. Instead, I opted to go with a more offensive Specs variant that trades the ability to switch moves for a much more simple use, clicking Moonblast. Specs Moonblast is actually insanely strong, dealing almost half to standard Doublade and OHKOing Cobalion a fair amount of the time. Anyways, time for the team. The basic principle was that Specs Florges would provide a supporting role by capitalizing on the dragons like Hydreigon that Houndoom baits in naturally. Houndoom would appreciate things like Suicune getting weakened and Florges loves getting those pesky steels out of the way. I went with Taunt Plot Houndoom because with an Offensive Florges variant you need to be really careful of things like Salamence sweeping you. Even HP Ice would be a decent option here. I went with Taunt to more easily dispatch of Porygon 2 who is a personal enemy of mine. Anyways, now comes Florges who loves coming in on free turns from Scarf Hydreigon and firing off very strong Moonblasts. Anyways, now comes another cool core I like, Banded Rhyperior + SD Toxicroak. The basic premise is that Rhyperior baits in Swampert while Croak handles the other bulky waters. Rhyperior also stops Mega Aero and Crobat and punishes their STAB moves. Shuca Cobalion was added to check mamo and mence. Stone Edge is used to hit Salamence as like I said, it's scary. Rocks Life Orb Azelf rounds out the team with a hard hitting Ground immunity. Overall, the team is pretty solid and while it doesn't make the best use of Specs Florges, it definitely puts in work from time to time and consistently stops Hydreigon who is always a pain.

Hello guys, gals, and everybody else. Today, I'm up with a request of an Hyper Offense/offensive balance team with a set that everybody forgot about:

Melo-sensei (Meloetta) @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 40 SpA / 216 Spe
Naive Nature
- Relic Song
- Close Combat
- Return
- Knock Off

(Please do not change the set in any way.)

Why does this thing require to use Relic Song instead of just knowing it? Because of this requirement, it only functions as a high risk high reward cleaner that is completely able to decimate weakened teams with a monstrous base 128 attack that is even higher than Honchkrow and blazing base 128 speed that is even higher than Noivern (This set actually speedcreeps Noivern after setting up.) and nearly unresisted STAB coverage that rivals the Mega Lopunny of OU, albeit restricting building the rest of the team so hard. Oh, and this is the only set of Meloetta (besides using Psychic/Shadow Ball on standard Meloetta) that actually puts Serene Grace to good use. With the ability, Relic Song has a nifty 20% chance to put an opponent Pokémon to sleep.

Now for some background information: Most of you guys know that I am a hardstall-only battler. All except three of my teams are hardstall. Well, I must admit that hardstall gets boring after a long time. So I decided to switch to HO but I have two problems: I basically suck at teambuilding HO and I thought no HO mon is as interesting and fun to play with as the mons of stall. Well, the latter problem was solved when I discovered that Melo-P actually had an analysis in UU Smogdex. I immidiately tried to build a team around it, tried different sets of Pokémon that I thought they would support Meloetta in any way (especially Hydreigon), but I unfortunately failed immensely, even on paper. Since I really want to take a break from stall for a while, I want a team based around Meloetta-Pirouette and Hydreigon.

Hydrei-kun (Hydreigon) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Taunt / Superpower / Fire Blast
- Roost

(Please do not give Hydreigon a Choice Item.)

Classic Wallbreaker/Stallbreaker Hydreigon, which provides nice offensive type synergy with Melo-P, weakens the opposing teams enough for Meloetta-P to clean up or just breaks apart defensive cores with Taunt+Roost.

I think Sticky Web support could help this core immensely, but it is of course optional (I couldn't find a way to fit it, tbh.). A Psychic type alongside a second Fighting type which forms a nice Dark/Psychic/Fighting offensive type core + Fighting spam might perform well next to this core.

TL;DR: A Hyper Offense team around En Pointe Meloetta and either Wallbreaker or Stallbreaker Hydreigon, please. Thank you in advance. n_n

Edit: Before any of you builders like NV start building the team, let me state that I would prefer a Hyper Offense team over Offensive Balance, the latter playstyle is just stated if this core proves to be impossible to be built around in a Hyper Offense team archtype.

Salamence @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: I'll be honest I didn't think past 252 attack what the spread should be
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Iron Tail

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Iron Tail
- Close Combat

Yo so I'm pretty trash at teambuilding and also playing the game so it would be nice if I had a well constructed team that lets me click outrage and watch shit crumble. I don't really care what sort of team gets built from these two but I suspect it's going to have an offensive flavour you know? They have pretty neat synergy with mence resisting the fire, fighting, and ground moves luc hates while luc can switch into ice rock and dragon moves for mence if they're weak enough. They both have iron tail because fuck fairy types but you can probably ditch it on mence if you have a better move in mind for the team.

Rules:

- Have a one paragraph description with the set / core you want us to build around and a slight idea of what kind of team you want the end result to be. Also, actually have the set(s) you want us to use in your post. This makes the process of building teams faster for all of us here.

Haxorus @ Life Orb

Jolly Nature

Azelf @ Focus Sash

EVs: 80 Atk / 176 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature

- Explosion
- Taunt

I went with all out tailwind on this one so to start off we have lead azelf to get up SR and prevent SR and go boom. Pretty simple. The two tailwind mons on the team are whimsicott and offensive CM suicune. Offensive tailwind cune variants can actually really mess up some offensive builds behind a tailwind. I made whimsicott a more bulkier variant for longevity in being able to set up tailwind multiple times throughout the course of the battle. It also nabs momentum which is key for tailwind teams.

I went with the double physical dragons in bandtrum and life orb SD haxorus. Bandtrum as many of you guys probably know a premier hole puncher, especially behind tailwind. It does have a common switchin in doublade, but doublade doesn't enjoy taking head smashes and cune is chillin in the back so its not a huge deal. SD haxorus can spam outrage late game against offensive builds or tear up bulkier builds with SD. Both of the dragons hit like absolute trucks.

And finally we have the nidoking. I went with a full special set but you can switch out flamethrower for sucker punch if you want the surprise priority, but I like flamethrower so you can still ohko shuca cobalion and hitting bronzong is always nice. King is actually a decent threat behind tailwind with its wide coverage.

It's an overall really fun team to play with and I really enjoyes testing it out. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-281423864 (One of the better replays I had)

Hope you guys like it!

this was a pretty cool core to work around. the only thing i didn't like about the end result about this team is that i'm stackin' types, which is a real pet peeve of mine. this is a neat offensive battery that covers most bases, since whimsi / empo can check offensive dragons pretty well, save for superpower iron tail hydrei and cb goodra lol, doom checks chandy (to an extent at least, doesnt really like specs fblasts after losin flash fire) and psychics, and empo kinda "lures" in aero / mamo, although i dont really like using that term at this stage in the meta because as soon as they see you lack lefties its fairly obvious you're offensive. going into specifics, i decided to run stun + encore on whimsi because i wasn't particularly desperate for uturn, and crippling it and doom's offensive checks is really neat. encore is really nice for mega pert and gatr as well. destiny bond on doom is nice cause you can get rid of most of croaker's checks with it, especially since protect / taunt is more popular atm (both of which i considered, but i think they're less conducive overall, if you go taunt use 40 / 216 / 252). empoleon clears hazards while still managin to provide some offensive pressure, moveslots are pretty standard fare. hydro pump can be used if you wanna get a little more oomph. i added crobat because having whimsicott as your fighting switch in doesn't yield positive results, and a ground immunity was pretty needed as well. i opted for sky plate here because it isn't as passive as more defensive sets while still being able to counter the stuff it needs to, mega bee in particular, which is always good for condensing roles. hypnosis works pretty well on this team because you can cripple fat steels, reg pert, etc., although using sfang / taunt / toxic is good as well. krook synergises really well with the rest of the team, and it does here what it does on pretty much every other team, which is trap shit and set up rocks. it also provides a vswitch immunity, which is nice, even if it can't really switch into most of the common elec mons' other options (dpulse from amph, leaf / overheat from rotom formes, hyper voice / coverage move from helio, etc etc.). croaker might seem a little awkward here, but it alleviates a bit of pressure from whimsi, since bulky croak can take on scalds and mega stoise handily, both of which are annoying for this team, and as previously mentioned, it appreciates doom's ability to pressure out doublade and cress, who are real painz for croaker to face, since 1nce they're gone croaker can put in a lot of work versus bulkier teams.

sorry for rushing a bit on the descriptions, but most everything is straightforward. will post the melo team soon, definitely liked building with that one heh, one of my fav mons to use atm
