move 2: Protect
move 3: Wish
move 4: Yawn / Thunder Wave / Taunt
item: Leftovers / Sitrus Berry
ability: Inner Focus
nature: Bold
tera type: Poison / Steel / Fairy
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
* Umbreon’s high bulk allows it tank a slew of offensive Pokemon. In particular, it matches up extremely well against Dragapult. A naturally high bulk alongside excellent utility moves means Umbreon can generate tempo while surviving even surprise Tera-boosted attacks.

* In such a physically leaning format, Foul Play is a strong reliable move to chip the opponent’s Pokemon. In particular, it punishes Swords Dance from Lum Berry Kingambit.

* Wish + Protect provides excellent recovery, and with Leftovers's animation as well, is great at stalling out the timer and can also keep teammates healthy.

* Yawn's ability to force switches generates extra Leftovers recovery and generates momentum for its teammates.

* Thunder Wave has excellent synergy with Wish. If the opponent’s Pokemon is unable to attack on the turn Umbreon uses Wish, Umbreon can easily pass the Wish to a teammate.

* Speed investment can Taunt opposing walls and deny their recovery; Hippowden is especially vulerable to Taunt.

* Protect combined with Leftovers provides recovery and scouts for U-turn and Tera.

Tera Types
========

* **Poison**: Tera Poison resists Fighting, Bug, and Fairy and provides an immunity to Toxic.

* **Steel**: Tera Steel resists Bug and Fairy, is immune to Toxic, and tanks Kingambit's Steel moves.

* **Fairy**: In a heavily Dragon-centric metagame, Tera Fairy on defensive Pokemon is highly valuable.

EV Spreads
========

* **252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD with Bold**: This spread allows Umbreon to tank a majority of the heavily physical metagame.

* **172 HP / 252 Def / 60 SpD / 20 Spe with Bold**: If running Taunt, 20 Speed EVs outpace Skeledirge and Corviknight while retaining all-around bulk.

Abilities
========

* Inner Focus avoids flinches from Kingambit and Hydreigon, making it a more reliable check.

* Synchronize punishes attempts to burn Umbreon.

* Umbreon’s high bulk allows it tank a slew of offensive Pokemon. In particular, its strength into Dragapult is especially charming it matches up extremely well against Dragapult. A naturally high bulk alongside excellent utility moves means Umbreon can generate tempo while surviving even surprise Terastalize Tera-boosted attacks.

* In such a physically leaning format, Foul Play is a strong spammable reliable move to chip the opponent’s Pokemon. In particular, punishing itpunishes Swords Dance from Lum Berry Kingambit. is very noteworthy/

* Wish retained its 16 PP. Together with Protect’s additional 16 PP and Leftover’s animation, this allows Umbreon to stall out the timer when needed Wish + Protect provides excellent recovery, and with Leftovers's animation as well, is great at stalling out the timer and can also keep teammates healthy. Otherwise, it allows Umbreon to keep itself and the rest of its teammates healthy.

* Using Yawn to force the opponent to switch lets Umbreon gain potentially infinite Leftovers recovery. Its forced switch also allows Umbreon to generate a lot of momentum, creating an opening for one of its offensive teammates to exploit the asleep Pokemon with more ease. Yawn's ability to force switches generates extra Leftovers recovery and generates momentum for its teammates.

* Thunder Wave has excellent synergy with Umbreon’s Wish. If the opponent’s Pokemon is unable to attack on the turn Umbreon uses Wish, it allows Umbreon to maintain a high amount of HP while passing Wish to a teammate Umbreon can easily pass the Wish to a teammate.

* With some speed investment, Taunt can stop the opponent’s Stall Pokemon’s recovery moves, making damage dealt against them in the cycle more permanent. Its strength into Hippowdon should also be noted. Speed investment can Taunt opposing walls and deny their recovery; Hippowden is especially vulerable to Taunt.

* Protect combined with Leftovers is a good way of giving Umbreon longevity. Its also an excellent way to scout for U-turns and any Terastalizations. provides recovery and scouts for U-turn and Tera.

Tera Types
========

* **Poison**: The gained Fighting, Bug and Fairy resistance and immunity to Toxic makes Poison a charming Tera Type for Umbreon. Tera Poison resists Fighting, Bug, and Fairy and provides an immunity to Toxic.

* **Steel**: Steel is a reliably good defensive type that also resists Bug and Fairy and is immune to Toxic. In specific, it allows Umbreon to tank Kingambit’s Steel moves better. Tera Steel resists Bug and Fairy, is immune to Toxic, and tanks Kingambit's Steel moves.

* **Fairy**: In a heavily Dragon-centric metagame, Fairy Terastalization Tera Fairy on defensive Pokemon are is highly valuable.

EV Spreads
========

* **252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD with Bold**: This spread allows Umbreon to tank a majority of the heavily physical metagame. However, depending on the team, a more Special Defense invested spread may be preferable. either make this more specific, or leave it out

* **172 HP / 252 Def / 60 SpD / 20 Spe with Bold**: This set achieves a similar objective to the first. However, in the case Umbreon would choose to use Taunt, outspeeding Pokemon such as Skeledirge and Corviknight is crucial. The HP investment allows it to maximize Leftovers recovery. If running Taunt, 20 Speed EVs outpace Skeledirge and Corviknight while retaining all-around bulk.

Abilities
========

* Inner Focus eliminating the fear of flinching means Umbreon is a trustworthy check into Pokemon such as Iron Head Kingambit and Dark Pulse Hydreigon avoids flinches from Kingambit and Hydreigon, making it a more reliable check.

* Synchronize is noteworthy as an option as Umbreon often gets burned in an attempt to reduce Foul Play’s damage punishes attempts to burn Umbreon.

GP 1/1!

GP Team done

The only thing I think might be worth doing is removing sitrus. Lefties with protect is just too important imo, if running Umbreon your other would be lefties Mon has to take the sitrus, Umbreon is just too major a user to me. Unless ofc Sitrus does some specific stuff.
