Our first edition of the Ubers Live starts on August 31st, and is a spirtual successor to the weekend tournaments we held in the PS room some time ago. In this case they will function more like the Smogon Tour, with thread signups leading into a tournament bracket. We considered the simplicity of PS's tournament functions but we would have no way of verifying players, be it new unknown players without Smogon accounts (so we don't know where the points are going) to all tour/forum banned users who aren't actually allowed to particpate in this tournament. This means we require hosts who are willing to take time out of their weekends to host a thread and handle a manual bracket just like Smogon Tour. This will be a type B tour and aims to judge the popularity of live tournaments among Ubers players so that 2020's circuit can see further considerations on that front.
Anyway, this tournament will have live tours on the Saturday and Sunday over a 6 week period on the Smogtours server, in this format:
Week 1 - USM
Week 2 - ORAS
Week 3 - BW2
Week 4 - DPP
Week 5 - ADV
Week 6 - USM
With Smogon Tour starting a new season during this tournament's season, we're going to aim to start 2 hours before their standard times. That means the following times:
Saturdays: 2 pm EDT
Sundays: 12 pm EDT
To players looking to join - you can participate in both days, but only your longest streak will count in terms of points. Can't earn points from both days.
This tournament will be decided with a playoffs format - just like the Ubers Classic - to earn Type B circuit points.
But most importantly - we're looking for hosts! They will be the most important part of letting this tournament continue on and will be considered valuable contributions towards the Pre-Contributor and Community Contributor badges.
Shoutouts to the TDs and Smogon Tour contributors for their work in the hosting guide (that we will send to hosts prior to the tournament starting) and inspiration behind this tournament's plans.
To start with we're only gonna take the first few weeks at a time in terms of looking for hosts. I'll bump this same thread when we look for Weeks 4-6 probably midway into Week 2. We're looking for 1 primary host each day and a backup host to go with them. Be aware - hosts cannot play on the day they are hosting!

Sign up in this thread if you are interested in hosting! We expect much less players than the average Smogon Tour in the Ubers Live, so it may well be a good way for those interested in trying to host bigger tournaments by starting out smaller here.
