U-turn glitch

My Celebi uses Baton Pass, Scizor is under a sub, and U-turn hits me before I get the chance to pass. I don't see anything on the site about this, so I'm going to assume this isn't a normal circumstance.

Can anyone explain what's happening?

There's at least 1 account (likely many more, can't be bothered) of both baton pass and u-turn having their passing effects negated on bug tracker, so adding them together is obviously a recipe for disaster. I don't think the trigger to these bugs were ever discovered or researched, but they've been around for ages.
