[SET COMMENTS]
Mega Tyranitar's powerful STAB moves, excellent bulk, and access to Pursuit establish it as one of National Dex's premier Stealth Rock setters. Stone Edge threatens Defoggers such as Zapdos and Corviknight, keeping its Stealth Rock on the field. Pursuit traps pesky Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Aegislash, Reuniclus, and Mega Latias. Additionally, Mega Tyranitar can use its phenomal bulk and typing to Pursuit trap Zapdos, Heatran, Blissey, and Choice-locked Tapu Lele and Ash-Greninja. Crunch lets Mega Tyranitar threaten bulky Psychic-types, such as Reuniclus and Mega Latias. It also pressures Aegislash in Shield forme. Sand Stream enables powerful teammates in Excadrill and Dracozolt. 168 Speed EVs allow Mega Tyranitar to outspeed neutral-natured Aegislash and Magnezone.

A very lacking defensive typing means that Mega Tyranitar needs to be paired with strong checks to a variety of dangerous threats, which include Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Mawile, Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Garchomp. Strong defensive cores with Mega Tyranitar often include Toxapex, Reuniclus, Skarmory, Melmetal, and Tangrowth. Reuniclus and Toxapex in particular are incredible teammates, as they appreciate Mega Tyranitar's ability to Pursuit trap Mega Latias, Reuniclus, and Heatran. Skarmory can form a powerful entry hazard stacking core with it, as it checks offensive Ground-types like Gliscor, Garchomp, and Landorus-T. Other sturdy checks to Ground-type Pokemon such as Corviknight, Tangrowth, and Landorus-T synergize well with Mega Tyranitar. Toxapex, Tangrowth, and Ferrothorn are solid insurance against Water-types like Ash-Greninja and Tapu Fini. On dedicated sand teams, Mega Tyranitar's Sand Stream enables the terrifying Sand Rush duo of Excadrill and Dracozolt. Excadrill in particular can handle Calm Mind Clefable, which would otherwise use Mega Tyranitar as an setup fodder. Excadrill and Corviknight can also remove entry hazards, which severely cut into Mega Tyranitar's longevity.

Earthquake can be used over Crunch to check Mega Mawile and Heatran better. This is unadvisable though, as it severely cuts into Mega Tyranitar's ability to pressure Defoggers and Pursuit trap Mega Latias and Reuniclus. Dragon Dance is a cool option, but Mega Tyranitar loses out on Stealth Rock, and is still slower than Mega Lopunny and Ash-Greninja after boosting, meaning it can be revenge killed rather easily.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Ground-type Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Hippowdon switch into Mega Tyranita's STAB moves and threaten Mega Tyranitar back with Earthquake, set up Stealth Rock, or set up with Swords Dance.

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Mega Tyranitar's typing does it no favors against the likes of Mega Lopunny and Kommo-o, which can switch freely into Mega Tyranitar. Mega Medicham cannot switch into Crunch but offensively checks it very well.

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: Fairy-type Pokemon like Clefable and Mega Mawile are bulky enough to comfortably set up on or take advantage of Mega Tyranitar.

**Water- and Grass-type Pokemon**: Toxapex and Tangrowth can comfortably ward off Mega Tyranitar and threaten it back with status from Scald or Sleep Powder. Additionally, offensive Grass- and Water-type Pokemon like Kartana, Ash-Greninja, Rillaboom, and Tapu Fini threaten Mega Tyranitar.

**Steel-type Pokemon**: Steel-types such as Mega Mawile, Corviknight, and Melmetal can switch into Mega Tyranitar with ease and threaten to deal heavy damage with their STAB move or Body Press.

**Status Conditions**: Being burned or paralyzed severely cuts into Mega Tyranitar's ability as a wallbreaker. A burn also wears Mega Tyranitar down over time, and paralysis allows slower Pokemon such as Mega Mawile and Melmetal to revenge kill Mega Tyranitar.

**Super Effective Coverage Moves**: Mega Tyranitar's poor defensive typing means that many Pokemon carry coverage moves that hit it. This includes Mega Latias, Reuniclus, Aegislash, Steelium Z Heatran, Corviknight, and Skarmory. Additionally, Mega Tyranitar is afraid of U-turn users such as Landorus-T, Mega Scizor, and Jirachi.

Mega Tyranitar's fantastic traits in powerful STAB moves, excellent bulk, and access to Pursuit establish Mega Tyranitar it as one of National Dex's premier Stealth Rock setters. Sand Stream also allows Mega Tyranitar to enable powerful teammates in Excadrill and Dracozolt. Stone Edge allows Mega Tyranitar to threaten Defoggers such as Zapdos and Corviknight in order to keep its Stealth Rock on the field. Pursuit allows Mega Tyranitar to trap pesky Ghost- and Psychic-types, such as Aegislash, Reuniclus, and Mega Latios. Additionally, it can use its phenomal bulk and typing to Pursuit trap Zapdos, Heatran, Blissey, and Choice-locked Tapu Lele its worth adding choice locked ashgren here too. Crunch lets Mega Tyranitar threaten bulky Psychic-types, such as Reuniclus and Mega Latias. It also pressures Aegislash in Shield form. 168 Speed EVs allow Mega Tyranitar to outspeed Mega Mawile, Aegislash and Magnezone.

A very lacking Rock / Dark defensive typing means that Mega Tyranitar needs to be paired with strong checks to a variety of dangerous threats, which include Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, Mega Mawile, Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Garchomp. As such strong defensive cores with Mega Tyranitar often include Toxapex, Reuniclus, Skarmory, Melmetal, and Tangrowth. Reuniclus and Toxapex in particular are incredible teammates, as they appreciate Mega Tyranitar's ability to Pursuit trap Mega Latias, Reuniclus, and Heatran. Skarmory can form a powerful hazard-stacking core with MegaTar too Additionally, Mega Tyranitar needs insurace against Water-types like Ash-Greninja and Tapu Fini, which means teammates such as Toxapex, Tangrowth, and Ferrothorn are solid. Also, on dedicated Sand teams, Mega Tyranitar's Sand Stream enables the terrifying Sand Rush duo of Excadrill and Dracozolt. Excadrill in particular can handle Clefable, which would otherwise use Mega Tyranitar as an opportunity to set up with Calm Mind. Earthquake can be used over Stone Edge, as instead of threatening Defoggers, it allows Mega Tyranitar to check Mega Mawile and Heatran better. This is unadvisable though, as it severly cuts into Mega Tyranitar's ability to keep up Stealth Rock. Ice Punch may also seem appealing, but it is simply not better than any of the listed options. Dragon Dance is also a cool option, but Mega Tyranitar loses out on Stealth Rock, and is still slower than Mega Lopunny after a Dragon Dance, meaning it can be revenge killed rather easily.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Ground-type Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Hippowdon all resist Stone Edge, can switch into Crunch comfortably, and threaten Mega Tyranitar back with Earthquake, set up Stealth Rock, or set up with Swords Dance.

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Mega Tyranitar's Rock / Dark typing does it little favors, especially against the likes of Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Kommo-o. Teammates such as Toxapex, Reuniclus, and Mega Latias can help shore up these defensive shortcomings.

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: Most Fairy-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile and Clefable are bulky enough to comfortably set up on or take advantage of Mega Tyranitar. These Fairy-types include Mega Mawile and Calm Mind Clefable, which can be defensively answered by teammates such as Skarmory or Heatran.

**Water- and Grass-type Pokemon**: Toxapex and Tangrowth can comfortably ward off Mega Tyranitar and threaten it back with status from Scald or Sleep Powder, respectively. Additionally, offensive Grass- and Water-type Pokemon like Kartana, Ash-Greninja, Rillaboom, and Tapu Fini all threaten Mega Tyranitar, so teammates like Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight pair nicely with it.

**Steel-type Pokemon**: Steel-types such as Mega Mawile, Corviknight, and Melmetal can switch into Mega Tyranitar with ease and threaten to deal heavy damage with their STAB moves, or in the case of Corviknight, Body Press.

**Status Conditions**: Being Burned or Paralyzed severly cuts into Mega Tyranitar's ability as a wallbreaker. As such, good switchins to Scald and Thunder Wave, like Toxapex, Gliscor, and Tapu Fini make for solid teammates. Mention how each status individually reduces its longevity

**Supereffective Coverage Moves**: Mega Tyranitar's poor defensive typing often means that many Pokemon carry coverage moves that hit it. This includes Mega Latias, Reuniclus, Aegislash, Steelium Z Heatran, Corviknight, and Skarmory. Additionally, Mega Tyranitar is afraid of U-Turn users such as Landorus-T, Mega Scizor, and Jirachi.

Mega Tyranitar's powerful STAB moves, excellent bulk, and access to Pursuit establish it as one of National Dex's premier Stealth Rock setters. Sand Stream also allows Mega Tyranitar to enable powerful teammates in Excadrill and Dracozolt. Move this down to after talking about the moves, abilities are generally discussed after the moves. Mega Latias is a far more relevant example, although it is admittedly an awkward 50/50 against Aura Sphere variants. Additionally, it can use its phenomal bulk and typing to Pursuit trap Zapdos, Heatran, Blissey, and Choice-locked Tapu Lele and Ash-Greninja. The power is also crucial here Crunch lets Mega Tyranitar threaten bulky Psychic-types, such as Reuniclus and Mega Latias. It also pressures Aegislash in Shield form. 168 Speed EVs allow Mega Tyranitar to outspeed neutral natured Aegislash and Magnezone.

Skarmory can also form a powerful hazard stacking core with it. I would like to see some elaboration on Ground-type checks here especially, its quite important for Ttar. Additionally, Mega Tyranitar needs insurace insurance against Water-types like Ash-Greninja and Tapu Fini, which means teammates such as Toxapex, Tangrowth, and Ferrothorn are solid. On dedicated Sand teams, Mega Tyranitar's Sand Stream enables the terrifying Sand Rush duo of Excadrill and Dracozolt. Earthquake can be used over Stone Edge, I'd say teams can also use it over Crunch if they have alternate Psychic counterplay as well as instead of threatening Defoggers, it allows Mega Tyranitar to check Mega Mawile and Heatran better. This is unadvisable though, as it severly cuts into Mega Tyranitar's ability to keep up Stealth Rock. Edit to go with the above edit, talk about how it makes it a worse pursuit trapper Ice Punch may also seem appealing, but it is simply not better than any of the listed options. Mention Fire Punch for Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, among others Dragon Dance is also a cool option, but Mega Tyranitar loses out on Stealth Rock, and is still slower than Mega Lopunny and Ash-Greninja after a Dragon Dance, meaning it can be revenge killed rather easily.
