Tornadus-T [QC 1/3]

[Overview]

Tornadus-T is one of the best pivots and Defoggers in the tier thanks to Regenerator, good bulk and Speed, and wide movepool. It can switch into the likes of Kartana, Urshifu-R, and Rillaboom and can force them all out with its higher Speed tier, which then leads to a free opportunity to remove hazards with Defog or setup Nasty Plot with the corresponding set. It can also run an Assault Vest set which lets it take hits from strong special attackers like Dragapult, Blacephalon, and Tapu Lele and then retaliate by removing their item with Knock Off or pivoting to a teammate. Thanks to Regenerator it can take hits and be able to fend off any chip made to it in conjunction with Heavy-Duty Boots making an effective pivot that can harass opposing team with Knock Off or Toxic. However, Tornadus-T struggles against Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, and Zeraora where they can take a hit from Torandus-T's STAB moves and can pressure it out, while the former has reliable recovery to switch in constantly. It also dislikes Knock Off from Pokemon it checks such as Kartana and Rillaboom and losing its item, which then leaves it vulnerable to Stealth Rocks and hinders its ability to pivot effectively.

[SET]
name: Utility
move 1: Heat Wave / Hurricane
move 2: Knock Off
move 3: U-turn / Toxic
move 4: Defog
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Regenerator
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Heat Wave is an alternative from Hurricane with its better accuracy and being the only move to actually hit Steel-types reliably like Ferrothorn and Corviknight, at the cost of making progress against Urshifu-R and Tapu Fini. Knock Off is good to make progress against switch-ins that rely on their items like Heatran, Galarian Slowking, and Tapu Koko. U-turn capitalizes the force switches that Tornadus-T causes for its teammates and helps it get out of bad matchups. Toxic can be used on defensive teams giving Tornadus-T a way to pressure Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Rotom-W by putting them on a timer. However, this leaves Tornadus-T unable to do anything to Steel-types when not running Heat Wave. The speed investment makes you faster than Adamant Weavile, while the rest is invested into bulk to reliably switch into Kartana, Rillaboom, and Landorus-T. Heavy-Duty Boots offsets Stealth Rocks damage and allows Tornadus-T to be a more effective pivot.

Tornadus-T fits well in balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate a pivot and as well team support it provides such as removing hazards and Knock Off. Wallbreakers that appreciate the ability to be brought in safely such as Blacephalon, Kyurem, and Volcanion which can pressure the opposing team, and also benefit from hazards being removed. Tornadus-T struggles with Electric-types, so Ground-types like Landorus-T, Hippowdon, and Gastrodon pair well for their Electric immunity to check the likes of Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, and Zeraora. Toxapex and Galarian Slowking make a great Regenerator core with Tornadus-T, the former is able to check Weavile and Urshifu-R, while the latter can switch into Tapu Koko and Kyurem. Tornadus-T in return is able to act as a Ground-immunity for them as well as check Kartana and Rilllaboom. Tornadus-T pairs well with other pivots such as Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Corviknight being able to grab momentum for one another and plentiful for their teammates.

[SET]
name: Assault Vest
move 1:Hurricane
move 2: Heat Wave
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: U-turn
item: Assault Vest
ability: Regenerator
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 88 SpD / 168 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Heat Wave helps Tornadus-T pressure Steel-types such as Corviknight, Melmetal, and Ferrothorn. Knock Off is important as it allows for Tornadus-T to cripple its targets item like Tapu Lele, Kyurem, and Dragapult by being able to take a hit and then remove their item. U-turn lets Tornadus-T keep momentum as well as making use of Regenerator as it switches constantly. Weather Ball can be used under Hail teams which lets Tornadus-T destroy Landorus-T and Garchomp, while outside of Hail it can run Icy Wind as an alternative. Superpower is another option allowing Tornadus-T to pressure against Heatran, Tyranitar, and Blissey with reliable accuracy compared to Focus Blast, however, it is not as reliable in breaking past Ferrothorn and Corviknight. Assault Vest with the Special Defense helps Tornadus-T switch into Dragapult and Blacephalon moves, while also being able to lure in Tapu Koko to Knock Off its item.

Assault Vest Tornadus-T fits well on a variety of teams that appreciate its ability to take hits from Special Attackers and providing momentum for its teammates. Hail teams appreciate Assault Vest Tornadus-T's ability to switch into Blacephalon and Dragapult as well as its pivoting abilities, and in return, Tornadus-T benefits from Aurora Veil support along with the option for Tornadus-T to run Weather Ball under Hail. Since Tornadus-T is not running Heavy-Duty Boots and is vulnerable to Stealth Rocks, hazard removals are great partners such as Landorus-T and Corviknight. Ground-types like the Hippowdown, Garchomp and the previously mentioned Landorus-T are good partners as they are able to switch into Electric-types, and can also switch into Heatran as well. Wallbreakers like Tapu Lele, Weavile, and Volcanion enjoy Assault Vest Tornadus-T ability to sponge hits from Special Attacker and being brought in safely. Partners like Slowbro, Buzzwole, and Skarmory appreciate having their lower Special Defense stat be covered by Assault Vest Tornadus-T. In return, they are able to check physical attackers which Assault Vest can't check easily like Urshifu-R, Weavile, and Kartana.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Hurricane
move 3: Focus Blast / Heat Wave
move 4: Taunt / Knock Off
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Regenerator
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

When its moves hit, Nasty Plot makes Tornadus-T become a powerful breaker, which can then break through special defensive answers like Heatran and Blissey and can also function as a sweeper due to its Speed tier making it hard to revenge kill. Focus Blast lets Tornadus-T hit Heatran, Tyranitar, and Melmetal for super effective damage. Heat Wave can be used over Focus Blast for a more accurate way to hit Steel-types and being able to deal more damage against Corviknight, but then Tornadus-T struggle breaking past Heatran and Tyranitar. Taunt allows Tornadus-T to take advantage of passive targets such as Toxapex, Corviknight, and Blissey making it a lot easier to break past them. Knock Off can be used instead of Taunt as a way to remove items from defensive switch-ins like Heatran, Blissey, and Rotom-W making them a lot vulnerable to repeated switches. Substitute is another alternative that eases predictions for Tornadus-T and gets free opportunities to set up Nasty Plot with little risk.

Nasty Plot Torandus-T fits well on bulky offense and balance teams as a deadly wallbreaker with the ability to act as a defensive pivot as it checks Kartana, Urshifu-R, and Rillaboom. Partners with shared checks like Tapu Lele, Victini, and Weavile can overwhelm the likes of Heatran, Tyranitar, and Corviknight. Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Hippowdon are great partners to relieve the pressure from Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Zeraora. Spikes setters like Ferrothorn and Skarmory are able to support Tornadus-T wearing down the likes of Heatran and Tyranitar making it a lot easier to break past them. Ferrothorn on the other hand is able to check Electric-types as well for Tornadus-T, and its ability to support with Knock Off removing items and making Ferrothorn's hazards in chipping down Tornadus-T's checks. Urshifu-R is able to break past most of Tornadus-T's checks like Heatran, Tyranitar, and Blissey easing up the pressure against them for Tornadus-T. In return, Urshifu-R appreciates Tornadus-T's ability in pressure against Grass-types like Kartana, Ferrothorn, and Rillaboom.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Nasty Plot set can run a more offensive spread for better damage output, though Tornadus-T misses out on the defensive investment for it which allows for Tornadus-T to be an effective pivot, and the power from Nasty Plot is already strong enough without the boost. Air Slash is an alternative over Hurricane for a more accurate Flying STAB, but the damage decrease is very noticeable.

Checks and Counters
====

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, and Zapdos are able to switch into Tornadus-T’s moves and can then force it out with their own Electric-type move, and have a form of recovery to switch in repeatedly. Zeraora is able to force Tornadus-T to switch out with its faster Speed tier, however, it lacks reliable recovery making it inconsistent to switch into Tornadus-T. However, they do not like switching into Knock Off.

**Knock Off**: Knock Off users such as Kartana, Landorus-T, and Rillaboom are able to remove its Heavy-Duty Boots. This leaves Tornadus-T vulnerable to Stealth Rocks and leads to getting overwhelmed and less consistent as a pivot. In the case of Assault Vest losing it gives it a harder time to switch into the things, it wants to check.

**Steel-types**: Melmetal can tank a Heat Wave and threaten Tornadus-T with Double Iron Bash, while Heatran deals a lot of damage with Magma Storm and only fears Knock Off, not wanting to lose Leftovers. If not running Heat Wave, Tornadus-T cannot touch Ferrothorn or Corviknight, allowing the former to Leech seed or set up Spikes, while the latter to U-turn into something for free.

**Ice-types**: While it cannot switch in safely, Weavile is able to pressure Tornadus-T out by revenge killing it with its higher Speed stat and can remove Tornadus-T's item that it relies on. Alolan Ninetales is able to set up Hail for Arctozolt which forces out Tornadus-T with its STAB moves, and Alolan Ninetales can use Aurora Veil making it hard to break past them along with getting chipped from Hail. Kyurem can take a hit from Tornadus-T and can then force it out. However, due to their lack of reliable recovery, they cannot consistently switch in frequently and also get pressured by hazard support. They also dislike switching into Knock Off making them vulnerable to hazards even more.

Implement what you want, but might want to reread some bits and make them more concise because this feels very wordy in some parts. Also avoid using "you" in the future when it refers to the Pokemon.
[Overview]

Tornadus-T is one of the best pivots and Defogger that can also function as a wallbreaker bolstered by its Speed tier, access to the amazing ability in Regenerator, and versatile moveset. It can switch into the likes of Kartana, Landorus-T, and Rillaboom and can force them all out with its higher Speed tier, which then leads to a free opportunity to remove hazards with Defog or setup Nasty Plot with the corresponding set. Heat Wave is an alternative from Hurricane with its better accuracy along with the ability to pressure Steel and Grass-types a lot reliably like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Rillaboom, at the cost of making progress against Urshifu-R and Tapu Fini. Knock Off is a good move to make progress against the opposing team as you can remove items that its switch-ins that rely on their items such as Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots, while also a way to pressure Steel-type like Heatran and Melmetal. Not really sure if Melm is really pressured since even without its item, its a threat and a half so id find another example U-turn makes Torandus-T a fantastic pivot benefiting with Heavy-Duty Boots with little risk to pivot in and out, while Toxic gives it away to put pressure against Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Rotom-W. I would focus more about how U-turn capitalizes on the forced switches Torn causes for its teammates and helps it get out of bad matchups. Make Toxic its own sentence talking about the same thing you did here, but also mention how it sort of sucks against switch-ins like Corv While Regenerator is Tornadus-T's only ability, it is a good one that helps be able to Defog in many opportunities. Talking about how Regen is Torn's only ability is unnecessary, this should explain more about how it helps torn be a more consistent check to things like Kartana The speed investment makes you Tornadus-T faster than Adamant Weavile and non Choice Scarf Kartana, while the rest is invested into bulk to reliably switch into Kartana, Rillaboom, and Landorus-T. This is probably a nitpick if you already outspeed adamant weavile, which by extension means you outspeed Kartana, then you don't need to mention Kartana. Heavy-Duty Boots offsets Stealth Rock damage and allows Tornadus-T to be an a more effective pivot to switch in and out constantly, while also be able to remove hazards for its teammates.

Tornadus-T fits well in balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate a pivot and as well team support it provides such as removing hazards and Knock Off. I know AM checkers aren't supposed to mess with EV Spreads but isnt AV torn supposed to have 248 HP like the others too, especially since this is the only set immediately affected by rocks?

[SET COMMENTS]

Heat Wave helps Tornadus-T to pressure against Steel-types such as Corviknight, Melmetal, and Ferrothorn. Knock Off is important as it allows for Tornadus-T to cripple its switch-ins item by being able to take a hit and then remove their item. I would instead focus on some examples of what mons you take a hit from like Kyurem and Lele, granted these aren't really switch-ins but part of the allure of av is that it can do those sorts of things more reliably U-turn lets Tornadus-T keep momentum as well as making use of Regenerator as it switches constantly. Weather Ball can be used under Hail teams which lets Tornadus-T hit destroy Landorus-T and Garchomp for a good amount of damage. It OHKOes Garchomp and does 76 percent minimum to max spdef Lando, so you don't just "hit them for a good amount of damage", you murder them Superpower is another option allowing Tornadus-T to pressure against Heatran, Tyranitar, and Blissey with reliable accuracy compared to Focus Blast. You're gonna have to mention some sort of downside here if its not slashed, like not being able to pressure Corvi reliably or that its not as reliable against Ferrothorn Assault Vest is the item of choice as it and the given investment allows for Tornadus-T to switch into the moves from Blacephalon and Dragapult being able to take a strong hit and then be able to remove their item with Knock Off decreasing the power that they can dish out, and the remaining EVs are invested into Speed which makes Tornadus-T be faster than Adamant Weavile and Kartana. This feels wayyyyy too congested here. I'd cut this down by just stating that Assault Vest with the Special Defense EVs helps Torn act as a better pivot to Blacephalon and Pult without the long explanation while mentioning that this also helps Torn lure Tapu Koko to Knock Off its item. Cut the bit about Ada Weavile and Kart cause you already said it in the first set.

Assault Vest Tornadus-T fits well on a variety of teams that appreciate its ability to take hits from Special Attackers and providing momentum for its teammates. Hail teams appreciate Assault Vest Tornadus-T's ability to switch into Blacephalon and Dragapult as well as being brought in safely, and in return, Tornadus-T benefits from Aurora Veil support along with the option for Tornadus-T to run Weather Ball under Hail. Since Tornadus-T is not running Heavy-Duty Boots leaving it vulnerable to Stealth Rocks, so hazard removals are great partners such as Landorus-T and Corviknight. Ground-types Types like the Hippowdown, Garchomp and the previously mentioned Landorus-T are good partners as they are able to switch into Electric-types Types, and can also switch into Heatran as well. In return, they are able to check physical attackers which Assault Vest can't check easily like Urshifu-R, Weavile, and Tyranitar. Kartana should be one the examples listed here since AV Torn especially doesn't want to lose its item to remain a steadfast answer to Special Attackers

Nasty Plot makes Tornadus-T become a powerful breaker, which can then break through special defensive answers like Heatran and Blissey and can also function as a sweeper due to its Speed tier making it hard to revenge kill. Focus Blast lets Tornadus-T hit supper effectively against Heatran, Tyranitar, and Melmetal for super effective damage. Heat Wave can be used over Focus Blast for a more accurate way to hit Steep Steel-types and being able to deal more damage against Corviknight, but you then Tornadus-T struggles breaking past Heatran and Tyranitar. Substitute is another alternative that eases predictions for Tornadus-T and gets free opportunities to set up Nasty Plot with little risk. The bulk investment on Tornadus-T makes it check Kartana and Rillaboom, as the Special Attack gets gradually increased from Nasty Plot, and the Speed makes it faster than Adamant Weavile and Kartana. again since you've already explained the spread before, this starts to feel a bit redundant

Nasty Plot Torandus-T fits well on bulky offense and balance teams as a deadly wallbreaker with the ability to act as a defensive pivot checking Kartana and Rillaboom. Urshifu-R is able to break past most of Tornadus-T's checks like Heatran, Tyranitar, and Blissey easing up the pressure against them for Tornadus-T. Doing this on mobile so bear with me. You know my disc so if u have questions lmk

Overview:

For the first sentence, reword it to something along the lines of:

"Tornadus-T is one of the best pivots and Defoggers in the tier thanks to Regenerator, good bulk and Speed, and wide movepool."

I understand you're talking about the NP set there, but I feel that part is best left for the set details, since av and defog are the two main sets seen.

I'd rather you mention urshifu over Lando t, as torn doesn't want to eat a knock Off or Toxic, and Torn is one of the few reliable urshifu answers for offense.

Mention what av checks (pult, blace, lele)

---

Utility:

Mention why heat wave is useful, notably that it's the only move that actually damages steel types. The grass type Mention is unnecessary because hurricane is super effective anyways

Mention glowking as a knock Off target. It's also good for removing koko's boots on the switch

Toxic is only run on fat teams so Mention that. Non u turn on offense is ass

---

AV:

With the weather ball mention, you should also mention icy wind for non hail teams to hit the same targets

---

NP:

Mention somewhere that relying on two 70% accurate moves sucks and makes torn unreliable as a teams sole wallbreaker/sweeper

---

Checks and Counters:

In ice types mention kyurem

Add a section for steel types. Melmetal can eat a heat wave and threaten an OHKO with DIB, heatran does a big chunk with magma storm and only fears knock off. Any variant lacking heat wave cannot touch ferrothorn or corviknight, allowing the former to Leech seed/spike and the latter to u-turn into something for free

Overall the content is fine for the most part. I understand English isn't your first language, but a lot of parts are pretty wordy and I'd like to ease GP's job a bit. Lmk when you implement and I'll go through it again in the normal format

Mystras Leoxses good check, most of what you said looks good. If you have any questions tag me on discord and I can go over it in depth

Make sure to go with 252 HP investment on all the sets. The reason to run 248 HP EVs would be to reduce Stealth Rock damage if its raw HP stat at 252 HP were divisible by 4 (since Stealth Rock does 1/4 to Torn), but thanks to Torn's weird base HP stat of 79 that's not the case (362 HP is not divisible by 4).

Hail teams appreciate Assault Vest Tornadus-T's ability to switch into Blacephalon and Dragapult as well as being brought in safely its pivoting abilities, and in return, Tornadus-T benefits from Aurora Veil support along with the option for Tornadus-T to run Weather Ball under Hail. Since Tornadus-T is not running Heavy-Duty Boots leaving it and is vulnerable to Stealth Rocks, so hazard removals are great partners such as Landorus-T and Corviknight.

[SET COMMENTS]

When its moves hit, Nasty Plot makes Tornadus-T become a powerful breaker, which can then break through special defensive answers like Heatran and Blissey and can also function as a sweeper due to its Speed tier making it hard to revenge kill. Focus Blast lets Tornadus-T hit supper Heatran, Tyranitar, and Melmetal for super effective damage. Knock Off can be used instead of Taunt as a way to remove items from defensive switch-ins like Heatran, Blissey, and Rotom-W making them a lot vulnerable to repeated switches switch. Substitute is another alternative that eases predictions for Tornadus-T and gets free opportunities to set up Nasty Plot with little risk.

Nasty Plot Torandus-T fits well on bulky offense and balance teams as a deadly wallbreaker with the ability to act as a defensive pivot checking as it checks Kartana, Urshifu-R, and Rillaboom.

====

(Add that they don't like switching into Knock Off)

**Knock Off**: Knock Off users such as Kartana, Rillaboom, and Landorus-T are able to remove its Heavy-Duty Boots or Assault Vest, especially from the likes of Kartana, Landorus-T, and Rillaboom. which This leaves Tornadus-T becomes vulnerable from to Stealth Rocks after losing Heavy-Duty Boots, making it vulnerable from getting and leads it to getting overwhelmed and be less consistent as a pivot. In the case of Assault Vest losing it gives it a harder time to switch into the things, it wants to check.

**Steel-types**: Melmetal can tank a Heat Wave and threaten Tornadus-T with Double Iron Bash, while Heatran deals a lot of damage with Magma Storm and only fears Knock Off. If not running Heat Wave, Tornadus-T cannot touch Ferrothorn or Corviknight, allowing the former to Leech seed or set up Spikes, while the latter to U-turn into something for free. (add here that Heatran does not want to lose its leftovers to knock off)

(sound like a broken record but none want to take a knock off)

It also dislikes switching into Knock Off users, especially from those it's supposed to check like from Pokemon it checks such as Kartana and Rillaboom and losing its item, which then leaves it a lot vulnerable to Stealth Rocks after losing Heavy-Duty Boots and hinders the effectiveness of Regenerator's ability to heal making it a lot more difficult to be an effective pivot. and hinders its ability to pivot effectively.

[SET COMMENTS]

Heat Wave is an alternative from Hurricane with its better accuracy along and being the only move to actually hit Steel-types reliably like Ferrothorn and Corviknight, at the cost of making progress against Urshifu-R and Tapu Fini. Knock Off is good to make progress against switch-ins that rely on their items like Heatran, Galarian Slowking, and Tapu Koko. U-turn capitalizes the forced switches that Tornadus-T causes for its teammates and helps it get out of bad matchups. Toxic can be used on defensive fat teams giving Tornadus-T a way to pressure Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Rotom-W by putting them on a timer,.(period here. capitalize "However" ->) however, Toxic sucks against this leaves Tornadus-T unable to do anything to Steel-types when not running Heat Wave.

Heat Wave helps Tornadus-T to pressure against Steel-types such as Corviknight, Melmetal, and Ferrothorn.
