Not only is Thundurus problaby the holder of the record for most ragequits caused, it also is an amazing support Pokemon in Regulation D! It provides speed control for slower attackers such as Landorus-T and Urshifu-R, Eerie Impulse dampens the damage output of prevalent special attackers such as Flutter Mane and Heatran, while Taunt shuts down Hisuian Goodra and the ubiquitous Amoonguss. Thunderbolt provides good chip across the board while doing a lot against Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and Tornadus. However, there are many physical threats immune to Thunder Wave, notably Iron Hands, Chien-Pao, and Landorus-T, which can turn Thundurus into a sitting duck. It also performs poorly against the core of Dragonite and Chien Pao as none of its moves do a lot against them, while both pressure Thundurus. Thundurus is also not great into Trick Room teams due to the presence of redirection users such as Indeedee-F and Amoonguss. Sitrus Berry and Tera Steel give Thundurus maximum survivability, which is important for its support role.

Thundurus shuts down many meta staples, sounds weird as an opener but up to u to keep being able to Speed Control many fast Pokemon which is very dangerous when partnered by slower threats such as Landorus-Therian, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and Heatran, providing speed control for slower attackers such as (pick 2 of shifu/lando/tran) against faster threats. it can lower the damage output of many prevalent Pokemon with Eerie Impulse such as Flutter Mane and Heatran, it can use Taunt to shut down the extremely common Amoonguss and Hisuian Goodra and Eerie Impulse Eerie Impulse dampens the damage output of Flutter Mane and Heatran, while Taunt shuts shuts down Hisuian Goodra and the ubiquitous Amoonguss. (sentence break) Thunderbolt provides good chip damage across the board while threatening Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and can force Tornadus to choose between Tailwind and Taunt with many double-ups, both of which are very important. sounds a bit convoluted, remove the double up part Despite this it does come with flaws however, Thundurus is not without flaws as there are many (physical threats might be a better choice of wording here?) Pokemon at the top of the meta immune to Thunder Wave, mainly notably Iron Hands, Chien-Pao and Landorus-Therian, which can turn turning him into a sitting duck. He also does poorly into priority spam teams with Dragonite and Chien Pao as he gets overwhelmed easily just mention that dnite's espeed outspeeds thundy's twave, and struggles against dedicated Trick Room teams if the setter has a way to avoid Taunt. good to mention but something along the lines of thundy not being a consistent TR check is fine, no need to elaborate too much. Amoonguss is also worth mentioning here imo since it annoys thundy a lot. Sitrus Berry and Tera Steel give Thundurus maximum survivability, which is important for its support role. The EV spread allows it to outspeed -2 Eleki and -1 Flutter Mane, Chien Pao and Iron Bundle. not really sure if the speed EVs are really that important here since none of those would realistically be only -1 against Thundy, maybe explaining the defensive EVs would be better. Safety Goggles Thund would also be a good mention as an alternative item choice.
