Facility The Safari Zone: cityscapes

Only users: epicdrill and cityscapes should be posting in this thread.

cityscapes is going to The Weather Institute! cityscapes will be using Jellicent and Goodra:

The field behind the Weather Institute is worn down by hail and sand. The Pokemon are territorial and often fight to have their weather rule the field.

If a weather-inducing move is used to change the weather, the change will only last for that round if the current Wild Pokemon being encountered has Drought, Drizzle, Snow Warning, or Sand Stream, at the end of which round those abilities will activate for their normal EN cost.

Castform is under the effect of all of the weather rocks. At once. Because Castform really needs the help.

cityscapes to choose two Pokemon from these four!

stay alert! the pokemon could approach at any time!

you know that these ones summon weather, right? it isn't very hard to tell where they are. like there! heavy footprints, sandstorm. i'm gonna go for this one.

1666914407167.png

that sounds like a really bad idea.

oh, i love the rain! does that bird summon rain wherever it goes? so cool!

Challenging Tyranitar and Pelipper.

objectively speaking, this is a pretty dangerous matchup. not only is tyranitar itself scary, but the sand will really hurt us here...

i know what i'm doing! no opponent is too big for me to restrain! none!

Will-O-Wisp ~ Water Spout ~ Hydro Pump
If Tyranitar is under the effect of a protective move, then Rain Dance the first instance, Chill the second, pushing back each time.
If Tyranitar is to use Rest on any action, then Water Spout S1.
If you are slower than Tyranitar, Trick Room is not up, and you are not Taunted, then Trick Room.

ah, iron defense cure mechanics. see, we had a plan, but it couldn't afford to have anything go wrong. just stay cautious.

come on... you can't stay in your stupid sandstorm forever...

i can't believe giga drain + hyper beam into will-o-wisp barely doesn't work. not that it was the best plan anyway.

Will-O-Wisp ~ Strength Sap ~ Taunt
If you miss S1, then use Will-O-Wisp S3. (If you then miss S3, then it's kinda over, pal. Can't really help you there.)

Switching to Pelipper, counterswitch?

it got away! i hope it isn't gone for good... anyway, this one should be pretty straightforward.

Counterswitching to Goodra.

rain is great! we love rain!

Thunder ~ Thunder ~ Ice Beam
If Pelipper has less than 10 HP, then use Toxic.
If Pelipper is under the effects of Double Team, then use Muddy Water.
If Pelipper has more than 20 HP S3, then use Thunderbolt.

There is nothing I can do here so I'm just gonna use throwaway orders.

I think these are the right capture rules for this run, if not then ping me on Discord.

Each Great Ball does (32-8/5)*1.25=38 cHP damage, for a total of 190 cHP damage
Pelipper regains 20 EN over the first 4 Great Balls, which doesn't bring it to 100 EN
Pelipper is caught!

Challenging Heliolisk and Jumbao. Throwing 2 Great Balls at whoever comes out first.

Only cityscapes and their current ref should post in this thread.

cityscapes is exploring the Ultra Wormhole Research Facility with the aid of Centiskorch and [Jellicent[/b] and hunting Mimikyu.

As you walk into the steel dome covering the habitat, you feel your hairs rise, as of there's energy in the air itself. In the center of the room is a large machine encased by a cage, a metal circle with countless wires, and filling the circle is a glimpse into another world- one where the dome is full of holes, and the sky seems to be dark.

Wild Pokemon, while in the Habitat, are treated as if they were holding their signature Z-Crystal. If the species does not have a signature Z-Crystal, it is treated as if it were holding a Z-Crystal of its primary type. Wild Pokemon are also capable of using their Z-Moves as if they were Stage 5 while within the Habitat.

we have a type advantage, so this shouldn't be too bad...

oh wait, i can beat d/e moves with solar beam. huh.

Leech Life ~ X-Scissor ~ Protect
If Raichu is to use Volt Switch this step, and not Volt Switch any other step, then Protect and restart queue.
If Raichu is to use a D/E move this step, and Raichu has more than 13 HP, then Solar Beam and restart queue.
If Raichu is to use Counter this step, and Raichu has more than 14 HP, then Struggle Bug and restart queue.

Let's just pretend that I remembered to make both Wild Pokemon Male, okay?

:ss/raichu alola:
You notice a small, yellow gem clutched in the wild Alolan Raichu's paws. The Pokemon's cheek sacs flicker four times as it is engulfed in Z-Power.

we have the opposite of a type advantage, so this will be really really bad. this was just a really unfortunate 2 mons to roll--leading with jellicent wouldn't work because of sparksurfer hurting so much.

go! my uhh, my strategy! go!
