The Pokedex According to Spook

Hello! Welcome to my Pet Mod! This Pet Mod makes changes and additions that I, Spooktune, would make. This Mod also adds something that I like to call a Theta Ability (θ Ability), which is a new ability that every Pokemon recieves, unless said ability would break the Pokemon by allowing it to shed a detrimental ability, (Like Regigigas or Archeops), or is part of the core Pokemon and would not make sense for it to change, (Like Silvally, Castform, or Shedinja). These abilities are mostly Flavor oriented, but can each have at least some competitive use. Every change made is MOSTLY flavor in this mod, with some changes to balance others.

Theta Abilities can be viewed here

Aww, no Luvdisc -> Alomomola? :P

I do like the Unown evolution though. And Protean Unown.

Also big fan of making multiple forms have differences, likje the type changes for Furfrou and different Theta Abilities on Wormadam.

Great change to Corrosion.

You mention Mantine has Wind Surfer but it's not in the new Abilities yet, so undure of what it does.

Water Absorb Camerupt, Triage Gogoat and Poison Heal Gastrodon are cool. Also like the flavour of the Theta Abilities of the Tapus.

Really like the addition of Flytrap, so U-turn can't be fully spammed as much.

Oops, at one point i had way more new abilities but i scrapped them all, and replaced them. It might come back, but for now i will change it. Great Catch!

Since you give the Swampert line the Swift Swim ability, wouldn't that make Mega Swampert redundant, since it also have the Swift Swim ability? Otherwise most additions and Theta Abilities are cool.

I don't think it will be too redundant, since normal Swampert's abilities aren't the best. Testing will be soon, though!

Looking over the dex some stuff I noticed:
Mandibuzz looks really awesome as it summons the new Dark-type weather. 1.5x damage on Foul Play should be pretty nice, and its a bulky setter that is neutral to two of Dark's weaknesses, in case you want to use the weather for other Dark types.

Grass / Rock Gogoat with Rock Head and Head Smash. Gogoat's stats and movepool have always been nice, it just had a godawful typing. Grass / Rock is one of the better Rock dual types and STAB Head Smash should give this guy a huge boost.

Water / Flying Waillord???

Hello there!

Every once in a while, i will add a post on here to spark some discussion. these posts will be called The Weekly Chime, as apparently Chimecho is our mascot now. these posts will contain a set of three Pokemon, and I will give a brief blurb about each of them. that being said...

Week 1
Generations

"Wait, this is 4! You already broke your own rule!"
Yeah well i cant cover Latias without covering Latios, and this is the first Weekly Chime, so its gotta be special!
- Pinsir got one of the best picks in terms of Move Additions and Theta Abilities out of all of the Generation 1 Pokemon. a whopping combo of Tough Claws and Megahorn. while Pinsir still loses Tough Claws on evolution, getting access to Megahorn was enough to make Pinsir one of the most brutal Megas. Pinsir, while in Vanilla Pokemon, Swords Dance and Normalium-Z Pinsir were only really used in PU, Pinsir could outshine most of its other Bug-types with a stronger STAB.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Megahorn
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

Pinsir @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Earthquake
- Superpower

Pinsir @ Normalium Z
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Earthquake
- MeFirst

- Normally, Tyranitar-Mega is classified as (OU) because of preference to normal Tyranitar. now Tyranitar-Mega's sheer bulk comes into play. Tyranitar's access to Intimidate means it can switch in and Mega to both lower the foe's Attack, but gain more Physical Defense and Sand Stream, practically buffing both of your defenses. Turns out it wasnt so useless after all.

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit

- Now, Latios and Latias are fairly new, so there's not much to discuss. The new addition of Magic Bounce for Latios and Magic Guard for Latias provide interesting Pre-Mega roles. Latias can come in on Hazards such as Stealth Rocks, Spikes, and the sorts. while Latios can come in on Status moves. Losing Levitate for the Pre-Mega Pokemon can be tough, but they regain them upon Mega.

Latios @ Latiosite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Draco Meteor
- Calm Mind
- Roost

Latias (F) @ Latiasite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Healing Wish
- Psychic
- Recover
- Dragon Pulse

I hope you all enjoyed this premiere version of The Weekly Chime, and make sure to join our Discord!
Please feel free to discuss these Pokemon and any others!

The Weekly Chime
(Posted on Sundays from now on because I'm busy on Tuesdays.)

Week 2
Cloudy Skies

This week's theme is Pokemon who benefit from Overcast

Now you may or may not know, Overcast is a new weather that boosts Dark-type moves and reduces Fairy-type moves. Now Dark-type moves are all about being unfair. Knock-Off removing items, Foul Play using the foe's attack, and moves like Sucker Punch just flat-out going first. These moves, as powerful as they already are, are boosted in Overcast.
- Mandibuzz is an excellent setter of Overcast with it's new ability, Stormbringer, activating Overcast on switch-in. Mandibuzz also supports it's teammates using an Overcast-boosted Foul Play and a neutrality to 2 of Dark's weaknesses, Bug and Fighting, while overcast covers it's Fairy weakness. Being able to keep momentum with U-turn and the ability to clear hazards as well makes Mandibuzz one tough bird.

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers / Cloudy Rock
Ability: Stormbringer
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn

- Weavile is already an intimidating foe. although not gaining much in terms of Theta Abilities, Weavile still benefits from Overcast with powerful Knock-Offs or Night Slashes. It's Ice-type STAB also allows it to be a Overcast counter as well, taking down Mandibuzz while also benefiting.

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Night Slash
- Ice Shard

- Absol and Absol-Mega are most likely the two best abusers of Overcast. Absol-Mega's speed and attack alone allow it to dish out Knock Offs. Absol as a base form can set it up and Mega Evolve, gaining Magic Bounce on top of Overcast. It's spectacular coverage options and access to Swords Dance allow it to be one of the biggest Dark-type threats out there. Unfortunately when using Absol-Mega, Overcast will probably last for the duration of Absol's lifespan, making it hard to setup for your other teammates.

Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Stormbringer
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Megahorn
- Superpower
- Swords Dance

I hope you all enjoyed this premiere version of The Weekly Chime, and make sure to join our Discord!

(Chimecho is being withdrawn...)
The opposing Brodaha used Pursuit!
It's super effective!
(Chimecho lost 100% of its health!)
Chimecho fainted!
The Weekly Counterteam
Where I give you ways to beat pokemon shown in the weekly chime!
this might not actually be weekly don't hold me to that please

How the hell do you beat fast pokemon like Weavile and Absol-Mega with 1.5x on it's Knock Off, and how do you break a Mandibuzz without a Fairy Weakness and an absurd Foul Play? Hopefully these pokemon do just that!

With a new STAB combination, Darmanitan becomes insanely powerful. It likes taking less damage from Fairy move in Overcast, and it's Fighting STAB takes care of the dark type abusers. However, it is forced to run Scarf due to it's middling speed tier.
Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Hammer Arm
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

klefikite.png

Blessed with a very interesting new Mega, Klefki can act as a bulkier Overcast answer who doesn't fear Knock Off. Running Draining Kiss lets Klefki abuse Triage more effectively when not facing Overcast, and still works to kill the abusers in a pinch.
Klefki @ Klefkinite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draining Kiss
- Flash Cannon
- Calm Mind / Dark Pulse
- Recover

I couldn't think of any other answers that don't do more or less the same thing, so there you go! I hope you feel better prepared for the scary pokemon that were shown in the Weekly Chime.

Wait, so you changed the way the Water and Ice types interact with one another, but you didn't change/remove Freeze-Dry? And why does Electric resist Poison?

Wait, so you changed the way the Water and Ice types interact with one another, but you didn't change/remove Freeze-Dry? And why does Electric resist Poison?
1. If you look in the Moves section, Freeze dry was changed
2. To balance the fact that Electric got a bew weakness.

Nice changes! You should have let us know sooner :) Why does Electric resist Poison though? Poison's already a pretty bad offensive type, and Electric's already a pretty good defensive type.

Personally i was thinking about that today after reading the previous comment, so i will most likely buff poison by having electric NOT resist it.. maybe ill give it something to be good against...

I didn't notice that before, sorry. However, the second part of the question was actually a question of why Electric would resist Poison at all. Fire is weak to Water, Rock is weak to Fighting, and Ice is weak to Steel. All of this can be explained in some manner, even some of the more unusual ones like Flying resisting Fighting. But I can't see a reason for Electric to resist Poison.

I based it off of a fact that well... Electricity cant really get sick.

The Weekly Chime
(Oh my god i posted it on the right date for once)

Week 2
1 Move Wonders

This week's theme is Pokemon who gained access to a new move!

All three of these Pokemon gained access to a single move. This goes to show that just by giving access to a single move, you can change a Pokemon's dynamic.
- Darmanitan got access to a priority move in Mach Punch. It also got access to the Theta Ability Iron Fist, which boosts punching moves. It's ability to pivot and give priority makes it a really good Choice user which can counter Overcast teams with it's new Fire/Fighting typing. It also has access to several hard-hitting moves in Superpower and Flare Blitz, and can even run it's old ability, Sheer Force.

Darmanitan @ Choice Band / Choice Scarf
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch / Flare Blitz
- U-turn

- Strength Sap is already a good move, just given to mostly weak Pokemon. Give it to Buzzwole? it becomes a bulky mess. While Buzzwole also gets recovery in Roost, getting almost full HP back the first time Strength Sap is used is insanely good. Combine it with the fact that Buzzwole has access to Bulk Up and Strength Sap's attack drop means that Buzzwole can practically shrug off any Physical Attacker, while also pressuring Psychic types with it's Bug STAB.

Strength Sap is good on this mon. Too good, actually.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/dragonheaven-gen7thepokedexaccordingtospook-6882

Buzzwole @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Strength Sap
- Drain Punch
- Lunge

- Now, Serperior hasn't been talked about much within the community as Buzzwole and Darmanitan had, but it still gets nice STAB Coverage in Draco Meteor. Coupled with it's still spectacular ability Contrary means you still get a +2 Boost when using it. It's like a Dragon-type Leaf Storm! It can also be passive and run Regenerator in case it needs it's health back, too.

Serperior @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Draco Meteor
- Defog
- Glare

I hope you all enjoyed this premiere version of The Weekly Chime, and make sure to join our Discord!

The Weekly Chime
(Ding dong your opinion is wrong)

Week 4? 5? 4. 4 sounds good.
Able Mind and Able Bodied

This week's theme is Pokemon who gained access to a new ability!

- Silvally didnt actually get access to a new ability, but RKS System was reworked into being able to activate with Z-Crystals! Unfortunately, this comes at a cost of not being able to run Multi-Attack, leaving many Silvallies who need to rely on Multi-Attack for STAB like Silvally-Fighting or Silvally-Ground have to keep running their respective Memories, while Pokemon such as Silvally-Water or Silvally-Ghost can use Surf or Shadow Phase and power up.

Silvally-Ghost @ Ghostium Z
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shadow Phase
- Swords Dance
- Double-Edge
- Defog

Silvally-Water @ Waterium Z
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Parting Shot
- Defog

- Tsareena's new ability, Iron Leg, gives a boost in Tsareena's kicking moves. It also gained access to a new move called Pixie Kick, which is a Trop Kick clone that drops Special Attack. This, Trop Kick, and High Jump Kick allows Tsareena to run an effective Offensive Scarf set, along with U-Turn. Tsareena also got a Fairy typing an a boosted +20 Speed, making non-Scarf sets effective as well.

Tsareena @ Choice Scarf
Ability: ironleg
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Trop Kick
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Pixie Kick

- Poliwrath, while lacking heavily on the Special side, becomes a complete setup wall on the Physical side. New access to Ice Hammer, Superpower, and Drain Punch with it's new ability Contrary allow it to have substantial recovery and setup and sweep with Ice Hammer and Superpower boosting Speed and Attack/Defense, respectively. When unboosted, it poses a minor threat and can be dealt with a Super-Effective move, but when Boosted, it becomes almost unstoppable.

Poliwrath @ Life Orb / Waterium Z / Icium Z
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 96 HP / 204 Atk / 208 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Superpower
- Ice Hammer
- Waterfall

I hope you all enjoyed this premiere version of The Weekly Chime, and make sure to join our Discord!

Time to break the drought of posts.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/dragonheaven-gen7thepokedexaccordingtospook-7290Here is a replay of Spook and I. This replay shows just how dangerously good Poliwrath can get if you’re not careful. It’s worth noting that has Bewear not been burned and been under Overcast, it would have done 72% to Poliwrath with Twinkle Tackle, so Bewear (having become a Fairy/Fighting with Play Rough) is usually a good answer to Poliwrath.

Week 5
Trail Mix

There's no theme this week!

- Milotic got access to 3 new things. 1: Access to Queenly Majesty. 2: Access to Serene Grace. and 3: a dual Water/Fairy typing. Serene Grace allows Milotic to be a great physical wall, being able to deal out 60% Burn chance Scalds, along with reliable recovery and coverage. It's Water/Fairy typing allows it to resist one of the most powerful types in the tier as of this moment, Dark.

Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Haze

- Blacephalon got a spectacular move-ability combination in Volatile + Self Destruct, allowing it to be a sort of suicide sweeper. Fire-type moves such as Mind Blown or Fire Blast allow it to bypass Steel-types who would otherwise resist Self Destruct. It's good speed tier and great Special Attack allow it to break otherwise almost unbreakable walls.

Blacephalon @ Leftovers
Ability: Volatile
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature

- Now, this one's going to be different. Since some of you do not know...

Aegislash has been freed from Ubers!

and in it's place, Stance Change has been locked into Ubers. This means that Aegislash cannot switch into Blade form, leaving it's offenses at 50 Attack and 50 Special Attack. This makes it almost worse than Doublade, albeit with a good SpD stat and King's Shield. It gained Justified as it's Theta Ability, which doesnt help it too much since it's weak to Dark-type attacks. Unfortunately, this isnt taking about buffs more than meta changes.

Aegislash @ Rocky Helmet

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Claw
- King's Shield
