Hi Can-Eh-Dian I have a sick SD Jumpluff team for you here. So starting off with Jumpluff I just went with the standard spread, then I decided to go with Choice Band Scyther as the next mon. CB Scyther is great for wearing down Steel-types like Klinklang and Ferroseed which are common answers to Jumpluff. I then added Piloswine as the Rocker in order to threaten Steel and Rock-types for the two Flying-types. I'm running a more offensive Lanturn spread with enough speed for Jolly Rhydon, and then HP Fire to lure in Ferroseed. I have Toxic specifically for opposing Lanturn and Musharna, but Ice Beam or Signal Beam are both alternatives. Next up I 100% needed a Spinner on this team and I felt Hitmonchan fit perfectly, as it handles Steel and Rock-types while spinning away Stealth Rocks for Scyther and Jumpluff. For the last mon I felt Rhydon was a great pick for a late game win condition, as it just needs some prior damage on teams before sweeping. Megahorn is an option to threaten Psychic types, but I felt SD just fit so much better on this build.

Overall this team is really solid and I had a lot of fun building it, but it does have a weakness against Wispers as there are 5 Physical mons and a Lanturn, all of which hate being burned so playing around mons like Weezing and Rotom is important. Last of all I would like to say Vapo made sure this team was as good as it could be, as every time I PMed him the next member of the team he would tell me "sure" and I would have the next member of the team n_n

Hi blaziken1337 Here's the team you wanted. So yeah, Grass Knot Lieaprd is really cool as it can lure in mons it normally have a hard time against like Quagsire, Regirock and Rhydon for example. Play Rough can catch some dark and fighting types off guard and Thunder Wave makes good use of Prankster and can cripple something threatening to your team. Skuntank really enjoys Rhydon and other bulky Rock/Ground types being gone but it's job is it pursuit trap and annoy stuff. Lum Berry is a must imo as it really helps with Pursuit trapping and i've also used crunch as it gives you a reliable dark stab, it comes in handy for things that stay in thinking your going to pursuit. Next I added Cacturne and at this point theres dark spam. Idk why people say Cacturne is completely outclassed by Shiftry when it's clearly not. Special based Cacturne is still amazing and it doesn't struggle as much when dealing with Garbodor, Vileplume and Weezing who are all 2HKO'd by Dark Pulse. Spiky Shield is really fun as it gives you some quick protection while they take damage and can scout on Choice locked mons. Next is Piloswine and it is a super solid stealth rocker with great match up against other setters. It's always nice to have a proper Ice Resist too. Nascar spread here, so you should be able to outspeed Lanturn before it tries to it you. Not a lot switches safely in on this thing. Now Clefairy is actually a good mon. Magic Guard is huge and it'll never get worn down by any sort of hazards or status and instant recovery is a huge advantage over something like Mega Audino. Pure Fairy tying also means to not weak to fighting types. Yellow magic, Moonblast and Soft-boiled are standard. The 72 Defence Evs mean it avoids a 2HKO from Choice Banded Close Combat Sawk and just some general physical bulk. Healing Wish brings something back healthy again but just be careful when using it. Last but not least there's Pelipper who is a little underrated. It's general job is to soak up physical hits particularly Fighting Types and act as hazard control. U-turn is the best move to use in the last slot as you can always gain momentum especially from stuff like Lanturn.

Something around NP ninetales would be pretty cool.

Ninetales @ Life Orb/Charcoal/Shuca Berry/Whatever
Ability: Drought Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

I think life orb is the way to go because ninetales is weak (80 base spa lol), but other item may work as well, your choice. Psyshock gets rid of hariyama, but Idk how common it is since I haven't played NU for like 2 weeks.

The Ninetales set is pretty standard, with Psyshock chosen over Will-O-Wisp to break past Assault Vest Hariyama and Magmortar, and I personally dont see that much value in Will-O-Wisp. Life Orb is pretty important because even after a Nasty Plot, with base 81 Special Attack Ninetales really needs that extra boost. Shuca Berry is another option that I've heard thrown around but I personally dont think the benefits provided by it outweigh Life Orb's uses. Next up is Floatzel, which is a great teammate to Ninetales as it can revenge kill Archeops and Tauros, two common offensive threats which easily revenge kill Ninetales. Floatzel also greatly appreciates Ninetales busting past AV Hariyama and Lanturn. Hydro Pump / Ice Beam / Focus Blast are all pretty standard, but I've chosen Baton Pass as it helps keep up offensive momentum and lets you take advantage of predicted switches into the likes of Lanturn, Hariyama, and Poliwrath with the appropriate teammate. However, if you feel that preventing defensive mons from setting up entry hazards and the like is more beneficial, feel free to try out Taunt over Baton Pass. Rhydon shouldn't need too much explanation, but simply it provides a Normal, Fire, and Flying resist, Stealth Rock, and soft electric check. Next up is Hitmoncha, which provides entry hazard removal, which is very useful for Ninetales and Floatzel to a lesser extent, priority in Mach Punch, and a bit of wallbreaking power. Scyther glues the team together in a wide variety of ways. First and foremost it is the team's only Fighting resist, so be sure to play conservatively with it. Scyther can also U-turn out of the likes of Rhydon and Regirock which give Floatzel and your Rhydon free opportunities to either fire off an attack or gain back momentum with BP. Lastly, Scyther also provides a secondary check to Malamar, Psychics, and Mega Audino. Lastly, Lilligant provides a legitimate Water-resist (no Floatzel is not one), Ground resist, and another boosting sweeper. Lilligant is a great teammate for Ninetales because a boosted Psyshock will rip through AV Hariyama and Magmortar, both extremely common and effective checks to Lilligant. I chose Yache Berry to help with the likes of Floatzel which otherwise puts in a ton of work on the team, as well as other miscellaneous stuff like Piloswine's Ice Shard and a stray Ice Beam from Lanturn. However, Tangela is another option in this slot as the Grass-type, but if you would rather a more bulky mon in this slot. Nascar Tangela gets the jump on standard 40 Speed Lanturn and Adamant max Speed Rhydon and some other stuff in that range, and the HP and Defense EVs ensure that +2 Kabutops's Stone Edge cannot kill Tangela after rocks. Ancient Power is used over Giga Drain as I felt the recovery wasnt as needed and smacking Xatu and Scyther is helpful. Tangela also has the merit of being yet another Shiftry check so thats something cool.

Enjoy!

Can I get a team built around CB Primeape, preferably with Lilligant as a partner (I think they pair up ok, but if it ends up not being optimal you can choose not to include it)? I built a team around those two and it turned out ok, but it definitely could be better, and I wanted to see another take on it

Luckily for you I already had this CB Ape team sitting in the back (sorry no Lilli :c), it's definitely been a favorite of mine to ladder with and has played incredibly consistently for me so I think you'll enjoy it. CB Ape (don't argue about defiant > vital spirit this team isn't all that scared of Granbull anyways but you need a consistent sleep switchin to mindgame around Lilli) + CB Scyther is a disgusting core which makes it stupidly easy for any pokemon on the team the get free switches in. TBH Having CB Ape with Scyther is less about "breaking the rock and steel types" which scyther fears, and more about threatening them the fuck out to gain momentum. I find that more often than not CB Ape will find itself battering these mons with resisted U-Turn, and yet still manage to come out on top. Expert Belt Mesprit is literally my favorite mon currently, I literally use it on like 5/6 of my current teams. With the ability to OHKO Offensive variants of Mawile, 2HKO Standard Skuntank, OHKO most Xatu, it's a potent threat that beats pretty much any standard Mesprit check and allows little breathing room for the opponent. Mainly because you really can't give the opponent any room to breath and setup, this mesprit is key as it wont lose the teams offensive momentum. Samurott is stupid strong case closed and tbh anything that catches a Hydro wont be there to eat up more U-Turns. Special Skunk is one of my favorite ways of dealing with Ferroseed and shit that otherwise annoys this team cause they are less than likely to switch out, giving me a free ohko + defog opportunity. Finaly Double Dance Rhydon because everything that is scared of U-Turns is a check to DD Rhydon, so p much by the time it comes in there really shouldnt be anything on the opponents team to impede setup opportunities. I chose bulk + Jolly because you really do need the speed to jump shit like Zebstrika, and adamant is kinda overkill, and lets be real as the only normal resist it is gonna pivot in a lot so any hp helps.

id request a kinda fat balance spikes stack including

defensive luxray
Hey there, I saw this and thought this'll be alright, however when building with it, Luxray provides nothing for the team due to its lack of support moves and I'm having to condense everything into 5 slots, which is hard enough to do with 6.

I'm happy to build the archetype, but if you wanna pick a different pokemon to be the main focus, I'll get it done

I mean, nothing else in the tier has baby doll-eyes + intim. So thats some sort of niche. It also grabs momentum with vswitch and has twave/discharge for speed control or para chance respectively. Screen, roar, SubToxic. Not disagreeing with you. just stating shit niches

yeah, i requested it b/c its so hard to build around it.

No, please choose a Pokemon from C+ or above on the viability rankings. To quote the rules in the OP:
- Do not post asking us to make use of unviable Pokemon. This is not a competition to see how good we are at team building; this is us trying to educate people on what is good and how to build effective teams. (Think C+ or above in the viability rankings)

Here is your scraggy team :] I started by thinking about needing a fighting check right off the bat, as well as something that can beat Malamar. In this case I opted for colbur Xatu for pivoting into Scraggy and for taking down Malamar and checking the likes of Sawk and Hariyama. Next I needed something for Mega Audino so Klinklang was my choice. Next I needed a fire check as well as being able to take on Magmortar so I chose Hariyama, which also helps me with pressuring mons like Rhydon. 5th was Floatzel, I originally had Ludicolo here but felt the team lacked speed. Floatzel gives me a way of revenge killing the likes of Tauros and Archeops as well as offering a water resist as well. Finally there's Rhydon, I needed a normal resist as well as Stealth Rocks, Rhydon also offers another fire type check as well. Hope you enjoy it :)

It creeps 262 mons like Ludicolo and Samurott; however, that tier isn't very popular and you miss out on max speed neutral Magmortar and Skuntank. You're better off just going 216 to outrun Adamant Sawk unless that bulk is relevant for somethign I'm missing Orphic?

Here's the lure Mega Audino team you requested with Arbok. Arbok will likely still struggle to sweep even if you do effectively lure in and kill Rhydon / Weezing / Garbodor with Mega Audino, so I've opted to put some effective offensive pokemon on the team such as Vivillon and Ludicolo. At this point the team is relatively weak to hazards and we already have a bulky poison lure so Hitmonchan makes a lot of sense. We also lack Stealth Rock and a solid fighting switch in so I've opted to use Golurk in this slot. Overall this team seems Ok, but I think you'll find Arbok will be very underwhelming without the additional coverage you gain from a third attacking option. Have Fun.

I actually had a team with Zweilous in my teambuilder so I figured I'd drop it for you to use. This team was made back in early-mid ORAS and it won me quite a few games on the way to winning The ORAS NU Tournament. You'll need to rely quite a bit on residual damage throughout the game to win, this doesn't always need to come from hazards though. I'd argue the majority of the time you'll win games by sub-seed stalling with Gourgeist-S as the thing is incredibly annoying to take down. You have switch ins to most of the major threats, but you'll really struggle against a well-played archeops. A quick fix to this would be swapping Zweilous for Regirock or making Mega Audino defensive and Mantine SpDef. Both are viable options so toy around with it a bit and figure out which one you like best. Make sure you think long term as to what on the opponents team can beat you and how you are able to dispose of it (otherwise things like rhydon can easily sweep), and don't let checks to your opponents threats get too low. Have fun!

Have fun!

Thanks for the team Kiyo. I think Evs on arbok didn't get properly posted. I've experimented with seed bomb and aqua tail offensive arbok in Nu before but wanted to try a set with longevity that might have more success in PU but wanted to try in NU. Is EQ an option over SP on the bulky set or is the priority to good to pass up?

like you need both, but if you want arbok to sweep like ever you need sucker. so i figured as long as you actually lure a mon sucker is always better

could i Get an bulky balance/semi stall team built around

Granbull @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Bulk Up
- Earthquake
- Heal Bell

Fun wallbreaker/stallbreaker that can act as a wincon. Heal itself and others with heal bell, and boost with bulk up to blow through slower teams. Speed is just there to creep lanturn creeping rhydon. Just so I can kill it before it burns me.

Cryogonal @ Icicle Plate/Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Freeze-Dry
- Ice Beam/Hp Ground
- Recover

Offensive Team with Cryogonal

Cryogonal is one of the most effective rapid spin user in the tier has an amazing speed and brutal special defense also has a ability that makes him immune to ground type attacks and harzards as Spikes, Sticky Web, and Toxic Spikes, also has access to recovery movement which is surprising also has a decent amount of special attack nevertheless has a very bad physical defense but that does not keep its good performance in this tier.
