Ooh, a Mothim! It's a shame Gen 8 is nuking Moth Dust no I will not move on-

There's also one octopus apiece per side, and if the rules allowed megas, both sides could utilize that! Zentinel favors a strict ruleset with no recoveries; I wonder how that will affect both sides? Wait, neither side brought recovery moves. Whadayaknow.

DoT master Zentinel gets to work, applying a burn to mitigate some damage and deal some of his own, while Whirlpool slowly does a total of 8 bonus damage over the next round. Meanwhile, cbrevan reminds him the number changes from Gen 8 haven't hit yet, and we're still playing the offensive BBP. Pain Split helps with some of the damage, but honestly, it was a lot of EN for 9 HP. The perils of using Pain Split on a fast mon, eh?

Arghonaut is ready to rumble with anyone but Metagross, and throws him out of there after a very important missed Zen Headbutt. Volkraken's burn takes its toll, as it saves Metagross 9 damage and deals another 6, but Arghonaut is ready to lay down the damage for one last round, while Mothim comes out a little sooner than expected. Those Dive took a good bit of Metagross's HP, too, easily trading with Metagross's Pursuits. This might have been a different game if Zen Headbutt connected and even flinched.
