Professor Birch uses one Potion and one Ether, restoring 20 HP and EN to Mollux.

The cave continues further, twisting and turning, heading ever downward into the earth. However, after a few minutes of travel, you see a light ahead!

When you turn the corner, you see the end of the cave- and it's populated. A table has been brought in, with a lamp and a PC on it. The lamp light is dim, but with the flashlight from Birch, it's enough. A man in a football uniform stands with his arms crossed, while a Kirlia with a necklace is posing impatiently. An Electrike lays tiredly, slowly rousing when you arrive, with clear indentations on its fur from power cables. The PC seems to be running Lanette's Storage System, and beside it are three Pokeballs. A telepathic voice rings out:

"Oh, so you're the ones trying to be big heroes, huh? Come to keep these Pokemon from freedom and stop our plans? Good luck! Humans like you stand no chance, especially after going through those wild Pokemon we riled up."

"Wait, that's what's going on here? You stole the Pokemon to release them? But they were bred in captivity, they aren't raised to survive in the wi-"

"Fuhgeddaboud the details, Dr. Fancy Pants. Team Rising Dawn just wants the best for Pokemonkind! That's why we took the PC from the Pokemon Center! And those of us who get in on it early get off easy!"

"Oliver, you dolt! That name isn't meant to be public yet! Arceus above... Now that this fool has blabbed about it, you two aren't going anywhere! Lektra, take 'em out!"

• Up to one time, the trainer can have Professor Birch use his last Potion on your active Pokemon. This does not require an action, and is activated using the trigger syntax, without taking a sub slot. (Trigger: Commanded - Upon [reaching X HP or below] or [being hit] THEN Potion

Mollux throws forward its spikes, but the effort is too much- after all it's been through, it's just too tired and didn't get to rest. It collapses, and you recall it to its Pokeball. Oliver stands back warily for your next sendout, but when one doesn't come, he walks forward, punching his fist into his palm.

"Out of Pokemon, huh? Time to deal with you two dire-"

As he approaches, a gust of wind comes from behind you, knocking him back! You stumble forward a bit yourself, as does Birch, before looking behind you. A Pokemon Ranger is standing there, with a Staraptor.

"Don't worry, Professor! I flew here as fast as I could!"

The Ranger takes out her Styler, and at the same moment, Oliver and Kirlia move in unison- Oliver grabs Electrike, while Kirlia grabs the Pokeballs. As the Styler begins to loop around them, there's a flash of light, before they're gone- teleported away.

"Darn, just a split-second too slow. Professor Birch, you'll have to clue me in on everything, once we get you both back to safety."

She looks at the busted PC. "Isn't that what was stolen from the Pokemon Center, why they were closed? Oh, well."

"And they got away with those Pokemon, too... I hope they'll be okay."

I'm sorry, Cherrybeans, but your Forest Fiasco adventure ended in failure.
