Techinically this has to do with Shoddy

I've been trying to fix Shoddy for a while now and it's been suggested that updating my NETGEAR adapter might work (which would make sense). However, I really need help installing the new driver.

I really need to update this driver. It's a wired adapter so as far as I know I need the CD. I have an old driver from 2001 while I need to update it to the 1.8 version from 03. I've downloaded the driver, but instead of simply installing for me I have to run some HELP.exe which tells me to insert the adapter (which is already in my computer) and the CD and go through some complicated steps to update it. Is there any simple way to do this without the CD? I'd really appreciate the help.

If you can't tell already, I'm not too tech-savvy so the help would really be appreciated.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I don't know where to put this topic, but I figured this was the right place to put it. If any mods would like to move the topic I wouldn't mind.
