[SET COMMENTS]
Swords Dance skyrockets Chien-Pao's already high Attack to astronomical levels, which, with Sword of Ruin, makes it extremely difficult to wall for any Pokemon besides Dondozo. It notably crushes walls that rely on their natural bulk, such as Garganacl and Toxapex. A boosted Chien-Pao can also clean even slightly weakened teams with its high Speed and strong priority moves. Ice Spinner is favored for its greater consistency, but Icicle Crash can also be used to avoid damage from Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin. Sucker Punch is Chien-Pao's strongest priority option and can OHKO Dragapult and Choice Scarf Gholdengo, as well as Scizor after a boost. Ice Shard is an alternative that massively damages Breloom and doesn't depend on foes attacking. Sacred Sword hits some of the Pokemon that resist both Dark and Ice, most notably Kingambit. Tera Dark rids Chien-Pao of its Stealth Rock weakness and enables its Dark-type moves to achieve incredible feats, such as having a good chance to OHKO physically defensive Garganacl with a boost and Life Orb. Tera Ice can also be considered, especially if Chien-Pao is using Ice Shard. A Jolly nature is preferred to outspeed Cinderace, Meowscarada, Roaring Moon, and neutral-natured Dragapult, but an Adamant nature can also be used for greater power, especially if Chien-Pao is running Ice Shard to handle the latter three threats.
Chien-Pao is a good option for offensive teams, providing a powerful wallbreaker and a fast cleaner. Since Chien-Pao is relatively frail, dual screens support from Grimmsnarl may facilitate setting up Swords Dance. Entry hazard support from Glimmora, Great Tusk, Garchomp, or Ting-Lu can help wear down Chien-Pao's checks into KO range for its attacks. If Chien-Pao opts for Life Orb over Heavy-Duty Boots, hazard removal from Cinderace, Great Tusk, Corviknight, or Glimmora can greatly improve its longevity. Gholdengo can keep hazards up to wear down Chien-Pao's checks and handle some of the Pokemon that give it trouble, such as Breloom and Choice Scarf Iron Valiant. Other good offensive partners for Chien-Pao, particularly on hyper offense, include Iron Valiant, Dragapult, Espathra, and Dragonite. Together with Gholdengo and Chien-Pao, these offensive Pokemon can overwhelm opposing walls such as Garganacl and Dondozo.
