The draft will be held starting from 4pm EST on Sunday the 23rd of August.

After some discussions with the TD team, we have decided to reintroduce the gap week between the end of the Draft and Week 1. Originally, the gap week was removed due to the possible release of the 2nd DLC, which could affect the tour massively especially if it drops right before playoffs. However, to minimize the overlap with OLT and to also give managers and players some breathing room after the draft, we have decided that a gap week is more preferable than finishing the tour early to reduce the chance of DLC dropping during the tour.

RE: John W vs Ewin

After a long investigation, we have obtained enough evidence to know that the Week 5 game between John W and Ewin wasn't played on equal footing. Therefore, the result of the game will be annuled and we will ask both players to replay the game with different teams. We know that this might be impossible in such a small timeframe and if one or both players are unable to play as well as their subs, we will call it dead.

The investigation is still ongoing and we will try to obtain new evidence and review old logs to figure out 1) who was involved and 2) the scale of their involvement.

RE: Ewin and John W, v.2

We want to expand on the administrative decision above: the TD team was approached by numerous players in the aftermath of the game between John W and Ewin with accusations that John W's team had been leaked to Ewin prior to the game. That is a serious accusation and we started the investigation moments after the first report, trying to get access to screenshots, logs and private games between Ewin and numerous other users.

Ewin rejected TD access to that groupchat they had been using to prep due to "pernsonal info being available" for us to read, and provided lone screenshots to prove their point. They were cropped to only show disjointed bits and pieces of conversations and of course that is not a very reliable defensive proof to us considering the fact messages could have also been deleted throughout our investigation. During the conversation with Ewin, multiple times details would change, making his story less believable the more we asked them. Due to the nuances of the situation we will be doing something we usually don’t do (for a number of reasons) and share details of the investigation.

From what we gathered Friday through our sources, Ewin dropped two teams in their teamchat Thursday (shortly afterwards, and in the same day John W said he’d be using sun) - one a sketch version of the team Ewin would eventually use in their match versus John W in the following day but with different sets. The other was also a sketch version, albeit with only one Pokémon missing EVs. Ewin confirmed he'd use the team with the best sun matchup the day thereafter - Ewin reposted the Centiskorch team, but now complete with different sets for almost all Pokémon after reportedly testing with someone else. It's important to note again that Ewin did not prep with the Lindworms, but in a different groupchat with different users. In this groupchat there was a user that was previously helping John W's team, was in the Leviathans chat and had knowledge of John W's team for the week. Furthermore, we have received information that Ewin asked Lindworms if that same user could be added to their chat as well the week prior, despite that user was already in the Levanthians discord, albeit inactive. Following all of this, we had 2 potential users to talk to: Ewin and the tester that played using a Sun game versus Ewin. The tester promptly gave the TD team the teams they had tested with, with indeed one of them being an almost exact replica of John W's team. Considering we have a screenshot of Ewin admitting that he knew John W would use a sun team, this made us even more suspicious.

Following all of this, the TD team involved in the decision was sure that some sort of collusion had been done by Ewin, with indirect or direct help by that user. As we had not been given entrance to the groupchat where the team was certainly built, the TD team decided we could not outright tourban Ewin without further proof, and that led us to the original decision, as a sort of middle-ground. We have, however, heard the arguments presented against it and, following precedent from a similar case in Slam VII, and decided to alter it.

Result: Ewin will be Tournament banned for one year, disqualified from this edition of Snake Draft, and we are nulling the result of the match between Ewin and John W that happened last Friday. We will continue investigating this issue in the coming weeks.

RE: Void vs Star

After originally scheduling their match, Void approached Star and said the original time no longer worked. Star gave Void a 4-hour window, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Eastern time, in which he would be available. After the first hour of that window had passed at 3:00 pm, Star informed Void's manager that he would need to start by 5:00 pm since he had to be done by 6:00 pm. Star reminded Void's manager a few minutes past 5:00 pm that he needed to start very soon or else he couldn't play. At 5:20 pm, Void's manager submitted a sub for Void, but Star had already gone offline.

Result: Since Star provided their last period of availability well in advance and made their best effort to accommodate Void's scheduling requests, this will result in an activity win for Star per Tournament Guidelines.

RE: Crown of Tundra DLC

Due to the unexpected drop of the second DLC, we have to set a new precedence regarding DLC drops during team tours in the future. Such a large meta change means that pre-dlc2 and post-dlc2 metas will be completely different, which makes changing it midtour seem unfair to the teams that have prepared for the current meta the whole tour. Because SSD is also nearing its end and allowing the new DLC will completely change 3 metas (OU, Doubles and LC), it would not seem right to have 6/10 slots change drastically in week 9 and playoffs. The scale of the drops is more similar to a generational change than a small drop of mons, which means that changing the tiers now to the post-DLC meta would be similar to changing the gen. Therefore, SSD will be locked with the pre-dlc2 meta until the end of playoffs.

Although unexpected drops have happened such as Mega-stones in SM or the Diancie/Volcanion/Hoopa dropping in ORAS, nothing has happened on this scale during a team tour. This would mean that everyone needs to relearn and adapt to the new meta, which players and managers do not have adequate time for. Although lower tiers have had major shifts due to rises/drops in the past, no meta has gotten over 20 new (viable) mons during a tour. Furthermore, allowing the DLC will put a heavy burden on the tier leaders and councils of the 3 affected tiers for pushing quickbans, so that the playoffs meta will be relatively stable or playable.

RE: Crown of Tundra DLC Part 2

We were asked to clarify our most recent decision regarding locking the SSD IV tiers pre-DLC. Therefore, our ruling above locked all tiers in the tournament into the pre-Crown of Tundra DLC metagame, including the tiers that were hardly or barely affected (NU, PU, LC and especially UU and RU). We understand the players' desire to play the newest metagame, but in our minds it was always "full adopt or don't adopt DLC at all" and making exceptions for one or another tier is definitely not in our plans.

RE: Frania vs MetalGro$$, eifo vs Ramolost, and LittleBigPlanet2 vs soulgazer

Three Mambas vs Bushmasters matches were unplayed during Week 8. Frania and Metalgro$$ scheduled a time, but MetalGro$$ didn't show and the Bushmasters did not provide a substitute. eifo and Ramolost tentatively agreed to Sunday without setting a time, and Bushmasters told Mambas to take the win after they were notified of eifo's availability. soulgazer made no attempt to schedule with LittleBigPlanet2, and Bushmasters did not provide a substitute after LittleBigPlanet2's availability was provided.

Result: activity wins for Frania, eifo, and LittleBigPlanet2

RE: Advanceship

Advanceship has shown no activity since the start of week 1, which is not acceptable. He'll be banned from participating in next edition of this tournament and infracted for poor sportsmanship.
