Meanwhile, heritage wins the week for the checks while The Everylord and StarFalcon555 take runner up. Congrats to everyone, your submissions will be added to the Hall of Fame. Now, let's introduce this week's victim!
:ss/Toxtricity:
Toxtricity @ Life Orb
Ability: Punk Rock
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Shift Gear
- Overdrive
- Boomburst
- Drain Punch

Rock and roll! This week we have the electrified lizard toxtricity. Toxtricity is a solid niche as a dangerous cleaner on hyper offense teams, using its absurdly powerful attacks to smash through common staples like mandibuzz, celesteela, and slowking. It's ability to break stall by setting up on chansey makes it very valuable to hyper offense, giving it a strong niche over its main competition thundurus. How will you put this lizard out of tune? Submissions are due February 28 at 11:59 PM GMT-8

Av reuni :worrywhirl:

Reuniclus @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 20 SpA / 240 SpD
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Future Sight
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

Reuniclus is a counter to shift gear toxtricity. psyshock OHKO's while boomburst while hardly 3HKO with boomburst.
252 SpA Punk Rock Toxtricity Boomburst vs. 248 HP / 236 SpD Assault Vest Reuniclus: 107-127 (25.2 - 30%) -- 2.7% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Def
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz / Fire Punch
- Poltergeist
- Substitute
- Shadow Bone / Bonemerang

Lightning Rod lets Marowak be a full counter by walling all 3 moves, letting it sub on the switch. Any set with lightning rod can work so you can run sd/flame charge as well

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 12 SpA / 184 SpD / 60 Spe
Calm Nature
- Psychic
- Wish
- Protect
- U-turn/Stealth Rock
The speed evs are to outspeed toxtricity. SpA is to guarantee OHKO with Psychic.
Jirachi is a counter to tox.It avoids 2HKO from overdrive even after rocks, is faster and OHKOs and has healing in Wish+Protect.
U-turn for momentum or rocks as last move.
252+ SpA Life Orb Punk Rock Toxtricity Overdrive vs. 252 HP / 184+ SpD Jirachi: 169-200 (41.8 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
12 SpA Jirachi Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Toxtricity: 294-348 (101 - 119.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:ss/Rhyperior:
Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stone Edge
- High Horsepower
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance / Toxic

Rhyperior has fallen off a bit, but can still prove beneficial for teams that want better checks to both versions moltres, salamence, and even a counter to toxtricity. just having rhyperior on ur team will deter a toxtricity from ever wanting to setup, letting u make easy progress with this mon. even if they click boomburst instead of setting up u can tank many of them easily.

252+ SpA Life Orb Punk Rock Toxtricity Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rhyperior: 133-156 (30.6 - 35.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 204 Def / 48 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 28 Spe
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Flip Turn
I'm submitting Swampert as a check. Swampert is able to switch in on most of Toxtricity's attacks when healthy, deterring it and getting up rocks or a free Flip Turn. The SpDef EVs let it take one Boomburst, and the IVs allow it to outspeed Chansey and potentially underspeed other Swamperts even with a Sassy nature.
252 SpA Punk Rock Toxtricity Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 48+ SpD Swampert: 170-201 (42 - 49.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

THE ANCHOR (Dhelmise) @ Leftovers/Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Steelworker
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Power Whip
- Poltergeist
- Rapid Spin
- Synthesis

Dhelmise is a sick mon that deals with toxtricity extremely well. Being immune to 2 of its 3 attacking moves and resisting the 3rd is an extremely nice quality of life that'll let you spin hazards off, synthesis any damage, and always threaten to 2HKO toxtricity in return. It is also hard for teams to switch into poltergeist a good amount of the time and power whip hits most of the things that switch into poltergeist (pair this mon with something for drei/mandi). Overall this mon completely shuts down toxtricity while having options to either shut down opposing pressure or gain a leg up with some hard hitting moves.

252+ SpA Life Orb Punk Rock Toxtricity Overdrive vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Dhelmise: 86-101 (25 - 29.3%) -- guaranteed 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

4 Atk Dhelmise Poltergeist vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Toxtricity: 201-237 (69 - 81.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
4 Atk Dhelmise Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Toxtricity: 110-129 (37.8 - 44.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
4 Atk Dhelmise Rapid Spin vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Toxtricity: 62-73 (21.3 - 25%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO (BIG CHIP)

Excadrill @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 120 HP / 68 Atk / 68 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

being immune the both of its stabs and resisting boomburst exdarill is a great check, not even requiering a prediction. if toxtricity decides to go for an attacking move you out speed and ohko, while if it tries to setup it doesnt do enough damage. even if you mispredict excadrill can come in, take 2 hits and KO event after stealth rock. while on top of that being one the best pokemon in the tier and still having some damage lft. for the bulk to take the hit i find excadrill to be a great counter.

252+ SpA Life Orb Punk Rock Toxtricity Boomburst vs. 120 HP / 68 SpD Excadrill: 165-195 (42.1 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

68 Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Toxtricity: 792-936 (272.1 - 321.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
(dont really need this calc)

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic
- Substitute
- King's Shield

The big bad sword man is immune to two moves and comfortably eats the third, making him a Counter.

252 SpA Life Orb Punk Rock Toxtricity Overdrive vs. 252 HP / 212+ SpD Aegislash-Shield: 118-140 (36.4 - 43.2%) -- 97.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Toxtricity: 153-181 (52.5 - 62.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Zygarde-10% @ Choice Band
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Extreme Speed
- Outrage
- Skitter Smack

Zygarde-10% is a strong offensive check to Toxtricity, denying it setup due to outspeeding and OHKOing it while also picking it off with Extreme Speed if it has boosted already.

And with that, it's time to vote! Sorry for the delay, but we are running low on Pokemon viable enough to do in victim of the week, so expect a few more breaks throughout the next few months. Moving on from all that, this week's checks and counters are down below. Lots of great submissions as always, it's very tough to choose just two.

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 112 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpA / 136 Spe
Mild Nature
- King's Shield
- Toxic
- Shadow Ball
- Close Combat

Around a year ago I did SubToxic aegislash as a victim when it was being retested, and now it’s here again! Aegislash has become a hot topic in UU, being a dominant S rank threat with many diverse sets. The most common set is a mixed one, utilizing its amazing coverage and typing to break through defensive walls like Chansey + Skarmory. It’s very tough to defensively answer. How will you defend against this sword and shield? Submissions end March 10 at 11:59 PM GMT-8. This will be a double points week, so be sure to submit!

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower
- Leech Seed
- Protect

It can easily switch in and leech seed to instantly recover most of the hp to continue to counter aegi throught a game. Aegi also gets forced into many uncomftarable situations as it takes a lot of damage from flamethrower and pretty much has its progress stopped cold by celesteela leeching away at its teammates while it cannot continue to threat celesteela due to the risk of being ohko'ed or being put at very low hp which means that its now checking anything anymore

8 Atk Aegislash-Blade Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Celesteela: 113-133 (28.3 - 33.4%) -- 0.1% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Celesteela: 109-129 (27.3 - 32.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 112 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Blade: 238-280 (82.3 - 96.8%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Moltres-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 248 HP / 156 Def / 80 SpD / 24 Spe
Calm Nature
- Hurricane
- Fiery Wrath
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Galarian Moltres is a fantastic counter to Aegislash, tanking every hit from it and 2HKOing it in Shield forme, and OHKOing it in Blade forme. It also doesn’t have to worry about Toxic due to Rest and Sleep Talk. The given EV spread lets it avoid the 3HKO from Close Combat and outspeed Modest Celesteela.

8 Atk Aegislash-Blade Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 156 Def Moltres-Galar: 107-127 (27.9 - 33.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 80+ SpD Moltres-Galar: 54-63 (14 - 16.4%) -- possible 7HKO

0 SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 112 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Shield: 146-174 (50.5 - 60.2%) -- 82.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 112 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Blade: 338-398 (116.9 - 137.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
