SS RU VR Update
Wooo, more VR updates!! Please note that these votes were done prior to Necrozma getting banned. As such, the VR will reflect the RU meta prior to the Nec ban. This could potentially make the VR outdated (but not redundant). In any case, another vote will be held at a later point once we see how the metagame develops.

Obstagoon A -> A+: Goon is arguably the best breaker in the tier. It 2hkos the entire tier, with the exception of Weezing-G and Chople Coba. Furthermore, both Weezing-G and Cobalion despise getting tricked a Flame Orb, as this severely limits their longevity, and, in Cobalion’s case, also cuts its attack in half, thereby suffocating its offensive abilities.

Registeel: A -> A+: Regi fills a plethora of valuable roles for any given team with great consistency. It provides a lot of defensive utility, with its bulk allowing it to blanket check the majority of the special attackers in the tier. Perhaps most importantly, Regi is one of the best Togekiss answers. To add to this, it is also a decent rocker than can punish fatter mons with Toxic.

Rhyperior UR -> A: Rhyp provides rocks, Togekiss answer, electric immunity, and several resistances all in one mon. It also packs a punch offensively, while it can Toxic (or Megahorn in the case of Celebi and Reuniclus) the few mons that can switch into its strong EdgeQuake coverage. Finally, thanks to its sheer bulk and strength, Rhyp is able to trade vs almost any given mon.

Starmie A- -> A: Solid spinner that also functions as a pivot with Teleport and status absorber with Natural Cure.

Celebi A- -> A: A breaker that is capable of dealing with mons like Cune and CM Reun is very valuable. It is also a great status absorber. All in all a great glue mon.

Suicune B+ -> A-: Seen a surge in usage and tour success as of late, as exemplified by the many times Punny’s Cune + Queen team has been brought in recent tour games. More generally,

Tornadus B+ -> A-: Flying type that sets itself apart from the others thanks to its superior breaking abilities. Great at making progress, while providing the team with a fast pivot that is either immune to Poltergeist (if Acrobatics) or to hazards (if boots).

Darmanitan B+ -> A-: Darm is one of the best scarfers at the moment. Preys on teams with Flygon or Noivern as the fire resist. Seismitoad and Rhyperior hurt it a bit. If not for the recent drops, it would have been ranked even higher.

Seimistoad UR -> B+: Lots of role compression in one mon. Water and electric immunity, fire resist, rock resist. Defensive sets can make progress with knock off, scald, or toxic, while offensive sets can make use of power whip for fat waters. Finally, Seismitoad is a decent rain abuser.

Weezing-G B -> B+: The only good switchin to Obstagoon in the tier. This alone is more than enough to warrant a rise. It also comes with the added benefit of dealing with Heracross, while being able to make some progress with Wisp and Corrosive Gas or removing hazards with Defog.

Guzzlord B -> B+: Guzzlord has seen a surge in usage lately. It functions as a decent blanket check to several special attackers, namely Chandelure, Celebi, and various electric types. Moreover, Knock turns it into a mon that can always make progress in one way or another.

Jellicent B -> B+: Jelli usage has also increased dramatically over the past few months. Much like with Guzzlord, this is not a fad. In addition to checking great mons like Cobalion, Lucario, Suicune, and Darmanitan, Jelli also feasts on the more passive balance teams which are in vogue atm.

Vaporeon B- -> B: Vaporeon has seen both a surge in usage and success in tour play lately. Its main perk is being a fat wish mon that supports Obstagoon – something which Umbreon struggles to do. In addition to this, it still beats most mons that you would need a fat water to beat. In short, Vap provides role compression and functions great in tandem with arguably the best breaker in the tier.

Klefki B- -> B: Chips Goon, sets spikes, and has priority status moves that can be helpful in a pinch.

Aerodactyl: C -> C+: Aero provides something as rare as an offensive Togekiss answer that is not an electric type. DD Aero is a usable wincon that outspeeds everything after a boost, whereas Roost lets Aero function as a switchin to mons like Toge, Noivern, Crobat, and Torn with even greater consistency. Sash lead HO generally sucks but Aero can also do this about as well as any other mon.

Bewear: C+ -> B-: Solid breaker that also provides neat defensive utility in being a Goon switchin and ghost immune. Its ability also allows it to trade vs any given physical attacker.

Heliolisk UR -> B-: Electric type that 2hkos all the ground types in the tier and outspeeds important mons like Obstagoon and Flygon. It also punishes mono attacking Suicune and Vaporeon, while still being a good check to Ice Beam Cune.

Sableye: UR -> C: Beats Obstagoon and Reun. It can also make progress by spreading status and removing items, while preventing the opponent from using recovery moves with Taunt.

Porygon-Z: C- -> C: This mon is just better than all the C- ranks. Both Specs and Scarf are viable sets. Granted, it still faces competition from other choice mons that mostly outdo it, so for now it will remain relatively low on the VR.

Ferroseed C- -> C: Just like PZ, this mon is also just better than the C- ranks. As opposed to the other C- ranks, Ferro has actually seen recent success in tour usage, both in SCL and the recent invitational tournament.

Reuniclus: S -> A+: The playerbase adapted to Reun since the time when it was almost banned. The rise of Celebi hurts CM Focus Blast Reun, while using shadow ball means that dark types like Obstagoon, Incineroar, and Guzzlord get in for free vs it. Giving free turns to Goon is particularly dangerous. To add to this, Golisopod often uses Leech Life now, while Milotics tend to pack Haze. As such, CM does not perform quite as well as it did a short while ago. Finally, the rise in Umbreon, Jellicent, Guzzlord, and Obstagoon usage hurts AV Reun a bit, as the former three deal with AV well while the latter punishes its very presence. Still, this was a tight vote, and with Necrozma getting banned, it does lose some competition from a fellow psychic type.

Nidoqueen A+ -> A: Not quite on the same level as Goon, Reun, Regi, or Coba. It was previously ranked a bit too highly.

Volcanion A+ -> A: Same as Nidoqueen.

Chandelure A- -> B+: The surge in Obstagoon and Guzzlord usage hurts it a lot.

Steelix A-> B+: The recent additions of Rhyperior and Seismitoad directly impact its viability for the worse. Not only do they compete with it as a rocker - they also make it much harder for Lix to make any form of progress (granted, it may indeed Toxic them).

Stakataka A- -> B+: Same reason as Steelix.

Raikou A- -> B+: Struggles to break grounds like Flygon, Gastrodon, and Seismitoad. Other elecs, particularly Xurkitree, are better than it at making progress. In addition, it rcently gained yet another competitor in Heliolisk.

Roserade A-> B+: competition from spikes and grass types. Celebi. Steel types.

Rotom-Mow B+ -> B: Mowtom is not quite on the same level as Roserade, Raikou, or Xurk. The sad part with Mowtom is that it is an electric type which cannot function as a flying resist, which in turn forces you to run different flying resists

Golurk B+ -> B: Faces a lot of competition from other physical breakers that tend to be easier to fit. Obstagooon and Flygon being so good is particularly problematic for it, as fitting either of those two is generally much easier. The prevalence of Goon also makes Polter much harder to spam.

Entei B+ -> B: One of the best sun abusers. However, while sun is indeed usable, it is not in a great place. Other sets such as Vintei and ProTox are usable but not too great. All in all, we felt that it was just ranked a bit too highly.

Vileplume B -> B-: Weezin-G mostly fills the role of a defensive poison better. Vileplume is 2hkod my mons like Obstagoon and Heracross, which Weezing-G deals with just fine. To add to this, using Vileplume often means foregoing the opportunity to use mons like Crobat, Nidoqueen, Roserade, and Celebi, all of which are usually more valuable mons.

Toxtricity B- -> C+: Competes with a lot of other electrics. Its main drawback is the speed tier. whereas other electrics can check Togekiss reliably, Toxtricity struggles to do so because it is slower. The relatively low speed also means it gets fewer chances to break. Finally, the recent addition of Rhyperior makes its best moves less spamable.

Talonflame B- -> C+: Talonflame is mostly outdone by other flying types like Crobat, Noivern, and Togekiss. The rise of Diancie and Rhyp makes it even worse. Granted, it can still function as a defensive pivot that spreads status, while also walling mons like non-Stone Edge Cobalion and Mimikyu.

Porygon2: B- -> C+: P2’s main niche is as a fat blanket check to special attackers that can grab momentum with Teleport. Unfortunately for P2, many of the special attackers have pivot moves and are paired with breakers that can take advantage of it. In addition, P2 is rather prone to getting weakened by both status and hazards. The rise of other Teleport mons that do not have this issue, Starmie and Xatu (but most importantly Starmie), makes it even less tempting to use.

Cresselia B- -> C+: CM sets are usually done better by Reuniclus, while Scarf sets are typically done better by Gardevoir or even Indeedee. It has a slight niche as a super fat psychic with lunar dance support, but it is mostly hard to fit and justify using.

Indeedee B- -> C+: Speaking of Indeedee, Gardevoir does mostly fill the role of specs or scarf psychic type better. Furthermore, the rise of Obstagoon really hurts it, as it outspeeds non-scarf sets and makes expanding force spam, one of Indeedee’s main perks, much worse.

Kingdra B- -> C+: Kingdra arguably remains the best rain abuser. The addition of Seismitoad does mean that it faces some more competition, however. Additionally, rain, much like sun, is in a bit worse spot now than it used to be, whereas Critdra is almost never seen.

Ribombee: B- -> C: Webs is just bad. QD really struggles to beat sturdy steel types – which any team should be packing. Specs is its best set, as it cripples all its switchins with Trick. Additionally, it also punishes lazy builders that do not use proper steel types. However, Bee does not provide much defensive utility and it is weak to SR.

Torkoal C+ -> C: Sun is slightly worse than it used to be.

Charizard C+ -> C: Same reason as Torkoal.

Shiftry C+ -> C: Same reason as Zard and Torkoal.

Ditto C+ -> C: Struggles a bit vs the very play style it is supposed to beat – hyper offense. MimiShark teams are particularly challenging for it to deal with. It is still great to have for mons like Shark, Cloyster, Barbaracle, DD Flygon, etc, but it is not quite as good as it was a little while ago. The drop in viability of Cloyster and Barbaracle in particular and HO also makes it a bit less valuable than it used to be.

Kabutops C+ -> C: Politoed ought to be ranked a bit higher than individual abusers. While Politoed rain can be used without Kabutops, Kabutops does not perform well without Politoed. Therefore, it will be dropped by one sub-rank.

Ludicolo C+ -> C: Same reason as Kabutops.

Barbaracle C+ -> C: Super rare mon that is hard to fit. It only really fits on HO, a playstyle which is slightly worse than it used to be. Additionally, other sweepers are often better, even when you do opt for HO.

Slurpuff C+ -> C: Same reason as Barbaracle.

Sylveon: C -> C-: Mostly outdone by Vaporeon or Umbreon as a wishpasser. Totally outclassed by Gardevoir as a breaker. Because of this you rarely ever see it. Still usable on the few teams that would rather have its defensive typing than that of Umbreon or Vaporeon.

Doublade C -> C-: No tour usage. Hard to fit. Mimikyu mostly does the job as a ghost type swords dancer better on offensive teams, whereas other steels perform the role of a defensive steel much better. While Doublade’s strength is that it can sort of do both at once, it really struggles to carve out a niche for itself in the present meta. The many fat waters only serve to inhibit its viability even further.

Froslass C -> C-: Froslass HO fell out of favour. While still usable, you almost never see it. Even MimiShark teams often opt for other spikers, such as Heracross, Roserade, and Golisopod.

Zoroark: C -> C-: Never sees any tour usage. Faces great competition from other dark type breakers, namely Obstagoon, Incineroar, and Pangoro. Extremely hard to justify using.

hello!!! im relatively new to ss ru, but i have been playing the tier a lot and i have some ideas :>
:ss/milotic:
Milotic: A- to A

Functioning as an effective mixed wall, defensive pivot, and phaser, Milotic is one of the most easily splashable Pokémon in the tier. It complements several top-tier threats perfectly, being able to tank Fire and Water attacks that scare out teammates like Cobalion and Nidoqueen. Primarily though, what makes it stand out to me is that it's a defensive Pokémon that doesn't mind Knock Off. While it doesn't resist it, it's certainly bulky enough to take a hit. Plus, its neutrality to hazards and access to quick recovery makes it not mind losing Lefties or Boots. On the contrary, some of the other best defensive mons like Metagross and Registeel rely on their item to preserve longevity. Despite the competition, Milotic has a useful defensive profile that makes it one of RU's defining Pokémon.
:ss/dhelmise:
Dhelmise: B to B+

In a tier with a little over 2 million reliable Stealth Rock users, the best hazard removers have to directly threaten at least some of these setters. For Dhelmise, it has a unique combination of traits that make it both a great breaker and spinner. It's no secret that Poltergeist and Power Whip deal massive damage to a majority of the tier, but that coverage is even more valuable considering the popularity of hazard setters like Metagross and Bronzong. Its unique defensive typing also lets it take on Pokémon like Cobalion, Seismitoad, and Rhyperior. Dhelmise is a great overall Pokémon that can tank through hits, threaten many defensive mons, and provide valuable offensive utility. And so, I think this versatility should be reflected in a higher ranking.

:tsareena: for B-

Tsareena's niche over Dhelmise is pretty simple: U-Turn. If you want Rapid Spin instead of Defog as your hazard control, Starmie is the only other (viable) option that can pivot, and Starmie is competing with a ton of great water types and with other strong sets of its own. Also, U-Turn (especially at +1) supports a completely different set of partners than teleport.

Tsareena also offers more set versatility than Dhelmise. While Tsareena doesn't have STAB Poltergeist to threaten ghosts that want to block its spin, it does get knock-off, or it can opt for Low Kick (or HJK, I guess) to help with steel-type rockers or Triple Axel to maximize coverage -- especially against birbs that want to come in and revenge it. Spin into Triple Axel deals 96% minimum to 252HP Crobat if everything hits.*

Alternatively, Tsareena has nearly identical bulk to Dhelmise, trading some power for a good bit of speed (and immunity to priority). I haven't tested bulkier Synthesis sets like what Dhelmise tends to runs yet, but it seems like they would do their job well if you only really need Tsareena to handle bulky waters (and pick off chipped electric types) offensively.

Yes, Dhelmise's typing generally makes it a better choice, but Tsareena's pivoting has worked out really well for my team's needs and I think it's absolutely more consistent than most of the stuff in C.

*Running Triple Axel with Power Whip is guaranteed to give you heart palpitations every third match, minimum.

Alright, so I've been lurking around a little bit and there's a mon that i dont just think is good. I think it's BROKEN. And it should be looked into.

Omastar  sprite from Black 2 & White 2 & Black & White
<---THIS ONE.
ODENSTAR (Omastar) @ Power Herb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Shell Smash

Omastar, under the rain provided with EASE by politoed, is TOO strong. OHKOS half the tier with stabs, ice beam to kill all the plant life in the environment, and what do you have? A MENACE TO OUR SOCIETY. It's too strong, too fast, and too versatile for the RU mons. There's no good contesting weather, so while it is up, Omastar is too much of a menace. Even if it dies, it's buddy kingdra EASILY cleans after the havoc it has WREAKED. It is not just a danger to our metagame's development, but a danger to the environments around it, and should be banned before it gets 100% usage alongside politoed and kingdra.

Alright folks, the standard SS RU posting time. I made a short one before since shifts next month woulda screwed with anything i said anyway so lemme rapid fire some quick ones since they are still here.

A+ -> RUBL
-> off the VR

Now this time i'll do things a bit differently, by making a tierlist maker (loosely ordered within tiers) found below in order to get more people to interact, and I'll put each nom in spoilers since there's alot of them. Anyway here's the tier list then the link to make one

Tier list will also have some unranked pokemon i think have potential to be good or worth using in a tour game from time to time, aswell as Obstagoon in case voters are actually clinically insane and keep it in the tier.
SS RU VR.png

https://tiermaker.com/create/ss-ru-viability-rankings-1343772

C+ -> B

I think rain is in a fantastic spot right now, thanks in part to the metagame shifts. Volcanion leaving means 1 less water absorber to worry about, and one less reason to run a water absorber for everyone else. Sun leaving, while a good matchup, means less weather wars to worry about so rain is more uncontested. Additionally, alot of teams are very lackluster water resists such as Starmie and lord Golisopod, who i'll get to later- but rain can just steamroll alot of builds right now like what QWILY did last week in RUPL (you're welcome)

A+ -> S
I don't think anyone is gonna disagree with me here nor is anyone surprised but crobat is incredibly stupid good at what it does. By far our best pivot, never bloody dies and U-turns so free it should be illegal. Checks annoying Pokemon like Roserade, Scarf Togekiss (Inner Focus), and soft checks half this bloody tier by just being faster than everything else not boosted. Super fang, Nasty plot and Toxic sets have all seen good tour usage in which I'm too lazy to hunt for, I just know I'm correct on this.

A -> S-
This mon is so nutty right now, the tier is fairly offensive right now and thus as always, Golisopod thrives as usual what a surprise. First impression hits like a freight train, checking a fat chunk of our offensive sweepers and makes HO a lot harder to use by its mere existence, other sets such as SD and Leech life have been seeing good usage lately, aswell as other moves to be annoying like Aqua jet. I'd say my only really knock against this Pokemon is it is still Crobat food and it's a god awful water resist but besides that shifts have gone its way.

A- -> A+
Stupid mon, damn impossible to switch into beyond Gweezing, excellent Crobat partner, kills every steel you can dream of besides Doublade, which is not a common sight. Arguably the best breaker in the tier right now, just outright devours most of this tier between CC/Megahorn/Edge and has a bunch of side options like Spikes, Knock, and I've even seen someone say body slam just to para Crobats, mon is disgusting and is absolutely deserving of A+

A -> A+
Same reasons Rhyperior is good before is why it's still good now, this one a little more controversial since honestly it does not need to rise per say, it's just a really good tank that can generally 1v1 most of the tier on its own, setting rocks infront of Crobat without fearing much and being one of the best switchins to both Crobat and Togekiss bar Registeel, also adores Water Type = Starmie/Golisopod teams alot because it just destroys those offensively with its stabs + coverage like Megahorn, ice punch, or even tech options like Substitute, which has seen use for Crobat.

B- -> A-
This pokemon is amazing dude, speed tier is fantastic, coverage for the tier is excellent, it's annoyed by Crobat/Flygon a fair bit but its myriad of tech options in its movepool like Dragon Pulse, Knock off, even stuff like Encore and even Twave/Wisp if it really wanted (though toxic is just better most of the time) allows it to be a constant pain in the ass, while also having the option to just win with Nasty Plot or Substitute sets, checking stuff like Roserade, heracross (you aint switching into a stone edge but you can eat a cc/megahorn) and feasting on the Steels of the tier.

B- -> B
Just a good, strong mon. The tiers flying types cannot switch into Double-Edge and the Normal resists don't bother Bewear because you just nuke them out. Good against Obstagoon but it's likely heading out from the suspect so im not using that as its basis here, it's just a great pokemon to stomp out bulkier teams and can usually claim atleast 1 vs offensive ones, with good defensive utility with Fluffy.

B- -> A-
This mon got added onto the VR last shift and was purposefully undersold cuz it just got in, so put it where it belongs. This mon is terrific, great offensive pivot, water immunity, ghost immunity, annoys all the bulky waters and feasts on them, insane move pool with tech options like Focus Blast, Glare, Surf, U-turn, Grass knot, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse and Weather Ball (on rain). It's speed tier is great outspeeding most of the tier naturally, and i'd call it the best electric in the tier right now.

407.png
B+ -> A-
You shouldn't even have been dropped bro, this mon is good once you tech into it's movepool a bit more. While not a fan, you can run stun spore for Crobat, it's still a fantastic spiker, with the Feliburn Rose w max phys def, you can run shadow ball for Metagross/Bronzong, sleep powder for anything, Extrasensory for Crobat and so on. It's just a great pokemon and shouldn't have left A- to begin with.

593.png
B+ -> A-
Sidegrade Milotic here, trades some bulk for a more specialized role compression, obnoxious Pokemon poised to get even better assuming Obstagoon gets booted, walls pokemon most can't handle such as Demongross, and stuffs Rain very well, and spreads burns across the game. Just a very solid mon in the meta.

B -> A-
Somebody say goat Flygon check? Stealth rocker? Demonic Ironpress user? Crobat check? Togekiss check? Rhyperior check?Should i go on? Imma go on, Gardevoir, Tsareena, Tyrantrum, ahh what a lord pokemon bro. This thing is incredible and also incredibly disrespected down in B. Yall telling me this thing is as bad as polteageist? War crime placement.

C+ -> B-
Life orb 3 attacks is good. Hits hard, tough to switch into often and speed is solid, but nothing exceptional. Can overwhelm balance teams fairly well assuming no Umbreon, as Guzzlord struggles to take multiple Air Slashes. If there is an umbreon... well have fun with the 5v6. But Umbreon is a staple on most teams so it's usually going to do well.

178.png
B- -> B
More Registeel more free rockblock real estate for Xatu. Rhyperior existing blows yes but stopping literally every other one is extremely valuable.

B- -> B
Cobalion left? Scarf head smash WE MOVE. I'm not explaining much further, best rock resist left its time boys.

B- -> B
Good mon, I'd call it B+ but i don't think its there quite yet. What it holds over it's competition is it's access to Trick scarf sets, or Will-o-wisp sets to criple its checks like Flygon. Annoyed by Roserade and Celebi but who cares when you volt switch into a mon that kills them so they don't heal back?

C+ -> B-
Crobat partner number 892 here, truthfully an under-rated mon, it's incredibly strong like you do NOT switch into this thing, you gotta just keep rocks up but it beats all the non Rhyperior rockers so it just enters as they come up and now they have a kill bar Guzzlord. Potent attacker with a niche as an Electric immunity (it does not need flare blitz guys just run fire punch and take the volt immunity)

A -> B+/B
I remember this mon being called broken by people. (it's me, im people) while xurkitree can still be annoying it's certainly fell off, it's speed is exploited by alot of offensive pokemon like Heracross, Roserade, Celebi, Toxicroak, and even stuff like Suicune, who aren't known to be nukes, annoy it when its slower than them. Fat Nidoqueens popped up to drive it off, and faces competition from Rotom-Mow, Heliolisk and Raikou for a spot, and also doesn't appreciate being a fake Crobat and togekiss check. (They all are but thats besides the point) Pokemon is strong but it just never wins i feel like and could honestly go to B in all honesty, i think its just that bad right now.

A -> A-
Honestly never thought Mimikyu deserved A rank, it's great on HO yes, but that's all its really good on and I don't find it to be anywhere near as dangerous as Sharpedo is to be this high up. Registeel on alot of teams aswell as pokemon naturally tanking its shots like Rhyperior, with Golisopod just freely breaking Disguise, even though the rises certainly helped it out, I don't think it shoulda been in A rank before either and still don't find it deserves it now. Heliolisk also annoys it by being a faster mon it can't shadow sneak.

A to B
Fell off hard man, i love noivern and it makes every team its on look 10x more aesthetically pleasing instead of ugly ass crobat, but unfortunately that doesnt matter so why use this thing. You used this pokemon before to patch Volcanion holes, but it left so frankly why use it. It somehow sucks as a Golisopod check too, which despite not resisting Water, crobat does better too. Switcheroo specs is fun and a huge nuke when it wants to, but is prediction reliant so it's tough alongside a rocks weakness. Just outclassed.

Torkoal is gone so goodbye.

Webs suck, all the pokemon you'd want slowed down are floating above it anyway or are wearing Boots like Crobat, Heliolisk, Flygon, Raikou, Starmie, etc. Just use Spikes HO.

No HOs are using these two though ! Trash pokemon, worse than Klefki and Lucario respectively, and just never see play.

This set is a very good core shredder. The lack of physical bulk is annoying but it can find opportunities to come in and force switches against special attackers like Celebi, Roserade, and any defensive water not named Gastrodon. If brought in safely, its speed tier lets it force out lots of specially frail and/or coverage move-weak staples like Steelix, Golisopod, Nidoqueen, weakened Registeel, weakened Incineroar, and so on. Many teams have nothing that can switch into it; its only good answers are special walls like Umbreon, AV Reuniclus, and idk Snorlax(?) otherwise you basically rely on prediction to handle it. the latter 2 are very rare lol so it's basically a good pick into any non-Umbreon team. The matchup vs Umbreon teams can be made up for w fighters, hazard stack, etc. Goodra's biggest drawback is sometimes getting a lack of opportunities in this physical attacker-heavy metagame, but it can punch huge holes in a ton of the RU metagame and deserves to be ranked fairly highly.

I think chandelure deserves to be from b+ to A because of its stallbreaking abillities because it can setup on the best wall of RU Registeel with ease and destroy it with +2 fireblast (sorry for no detailed if someone can help me im gonna be thankful just thinking chandelure is pretty good)

Chandelure gets blanked by Umbreon and by rising Dark Types in Incineroar and Guzzlord. Setup sets also need to choose between Energy Ball (to make any progress against our many Bulky Waters) or Substitute (to minimize exposure to the many faster/bulkier mons around that can KO with EQ, Stone Edge, or Knock).

Not saying it isn't really good! Just that, with as prevalent as is soft checks are, it needs more team support to get into position than you would expect based its by-the-numbers breaking power. B+ feels right to me.

Speaking of scary fire types: Salazzle is amazing right now. Sub/Pro/Tox sets are as annoying as ever, but Nasty Plot sets remain the Truth. I ran it with my, frankly absurd, Oops! All Priority Hitmontop set during the 'Goon suspect and it was amazing how frequently it turned into my wincon with 'Top helping keep the handful of faster threats in check. Its frailty can make it hard to utilize Corrosion early without something like WishTurn Vaporeon (which I love but has the worst 4MSS ever) to help bring it in safely and keep it topped off, but when you do manage to get an early Toxic on a Crobat? Priceless. You can also opt for Dragon Pulse over Toxic (and then run Oblivious) if you're scared of Flygon, as was increasingly common in NU before Flygon's rise.

Easily B+ as well.

I think I will still make another post with rises and drops, but for now, I just want to nom Drapion for the Viability Ranking. Imo Drapion was benefited from the recent changes in the tier, mainly with Cobalion and Obstagoon rising. It has a good typing which gives it some opportunities to come into Celebi, Dhelmise, and Roserade. I think where it shines is in the mid-late game, where the opposing team is already a bit weakened, you're probably gonna have a chance to set up a Swords Dance and claim one or two kills. With a pair of amazing STAB moves and a good coverage on Earthquake, Drapion has enough tools to open the needed holes for your teammates. Aqua Tail can also be used if you want more damage on Rhyperior. Although it has its flaws and is probably not winning the game for you, it is good enough to deserve, at least, a C+ Rank.

My first nom on here. Recently got into the RU tier and I have been enjoying it so far. These noms were based off gameplay and observations from RUPL.

Rises

A+ > S
If RUPL has proven anything, its that no other mon in the tier provides the utility, pivoting and speed control that Crobat does. It is incredibly splashable. BB/Roost/U-Turn are the standard three moves. The fourth move is usually Defog, but Toxic and Taunt are phenomenal options. Considering RU does not have a shortage of good hazard control, it can always forego Defog. Raikou and Xurk get chunked p badly by U-Turn. Rhyperior can get Toxic’d or chipped. Crobat Taunts on most of the defensive steels and pivots out of them. It is #1 for a reason.

A- > A
With Coba and Goon out of the picture, Luke lost two forms of competition. The tier is littered with steels and dark types like Incin/Umb/Guzz which Lucario can absolutely abuse to the fullest, especially Umb who boosts its atk via Justified. The most dangerous part apart it however is the fact that it can run either SD, NP, or Band which have different counterplays. Band E-Speed picks off a lot of the faster threats such as Raikou, Crobat, Gon, and Scarfers. Crunch bites on Jelli thinking it can come in for free.

In the current meta I feel like Raikou is more favorable atm. Raikou’s superior 115 speed lets it outspeed Flygon, Herra, Mimi, and Celebi which Xurk otherwise can’t. Raikou threatens Lix, Nido, and Rhyperior with Scald. Scald being itself means that Flygon and Dhel still have to fear burns. Plus it can always run SBall to smack Cele and Dhel which Xurk has to Volt Switch on. Raikou has better bulk (especially on the special side), letting it live crucial hits in a pinch that Xurk can’t take. As an example.

0 SpA Milotic Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Raikou: 85-102 (26.4 - 31.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

0 SpA Milotic Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Xurkitree: 114-135 (37.1 - 43.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Xurk ofc can actually threaten KOs on Flygon and hits Toad/Gastro, but I feel like Raikou’s strengths are more valuable atm.

B > B+/A-
No Goon means Bronz can be fit on more teams without having to be a steel that gets murdered by it. As it stands, it is one of the best Flygon answers in the tier, being able to completely wall out DD variants. It has other feats like checking Meta without fearing EQ, checking Nidoqueen lacking Flame/Fire Blast, and setting rocks. There is a ton of steel type competition, but its merits make it at least worth rising up a tier or two.

B > B+
The rise is long overdue but no Darm means no competition from it. Pair it with something to pressure/lure bulky waters and it’ll go off. Sacred Fire burns annoy everything, including Flygon. Lefties recovery being ruined as well. 100 speed tier is nice and appreciates the plethora of steels, plus Crobat is an excellent partner that can bring Entei in. Scary mon, moving on.

Rain is still dumb in RU and it is grossly underrated. Ludicolo destroys all the bulky waters in the tier. Kingdra is absurdly fast and either Flip-Turns or smacks bulky waters with Draco. Toad also exists and we all know how much it nukes things in OU. The tier also has non-Swift Swim rain abusers like Raikou, Torn, Mie, and Sharp who can absolutely murder things under the weather (hehe). Poli itself is no Peli, but utility from Encore, Perish Song, and Scald burns can open up the abusers. B- for Poli/Kingdra and Ludicolo in C+.

1332DFB4-663D-4150-A8D2-85034B587ACB.png
C > C+
Underrated and fun wincon on HO. Some players in RUPL led with Sash Bara for early game breaking since it hits that hard after a Shell Smash. Bulky waters get smacked by SE, Toad/Gastro get punted by G-Knot. Crobat surging in usage means it has a way to potentially come in and setup on. Of course it hates Taunt/Toxic, but Bat always has to fear it potentially clicking SE. At +2 it outspeeds Scarf Flygon, plus it has enough natural bulk to live a hit and setup.

F64A70E0-DC88-4C12-A340-89C3A776E2A5.png
C > C+
The fact that a mon with 135 SpA, a decent enough speed tier, and Adaptability is in the C tier is a crime. Anything that isn’t a rock or steel type is getting absolutely nuked by this thing. Even in the face of those resists, they don’t have reliable recovery and Tri-Attack bs can cripple them badly. If your steel is Lix, then this happens.

252 SpA Choice Specs Adaptability Porygon-Z Tri Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Steelix: 127-150 (35.8 - 42.3%) -- 93% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

It has shit bulk and no defensive utility which is why its a C+ tier mon rather than an A tier, but the tier does not have a shortage of pivots. Especially since the two best mons in the tier uses U-Turn. Overall, its a niche breaker.

Obviously still a really good cleaner, but its more hit or miss and it is not that splashable. It gets forced out by priority or bulky waters. It also sometimes has trouble OHKOing things like Crobat limiting its use outside lategame.

121209FB-CDD3-44E0-816C-280E541BA364.png
B+ > B
Faces way too much competition from the plethora of rockers (most of which are steels) while nothing providing much to differentiate it from the others. TR is nice but it is not a particularly consistent playstyle. Offensive sets are outdone by Metagross. Not a bad mon at all, but heavy competition from Rhy, Lix, Meta, Regi, and Queen hurts it.

36FEF64F-0FF7-463B-8B97-35B51551AB4D.png

Too hit or miss for B rank. In most games it will either be picked off by priority, stonewalled by Umb/Guzz/Incin, or have something take a hit and kill it back.

55AB5A91-8D0B-41E4-8CE5-32890ADB56B6.png
B- > C+
As much as I love Decid, its not fitting for B-. Barely saw any notable usage in RUPL, and when it did it underperformed. Too frail as a check to Raikou and others. Outperformed by Golurk, Mimi and Dhel.

5A31150A-A7D4-488A-B32C-BA76B1C5E0AB.png
C+ > C
Can’t muscle throughout bulky waters, and has a hard time with steels. Bara is better. Ofc, Cloy has more setup opportunities than it in virtue to its physD, but it requires more support as a Shell Smasher atm.

Thank you for explaing though i need to ask if choice scarf Gardie is good?
Scarf Gardevoir is a lot of fun, and arguably its best set. Personally I feel like its A- but I don't feel strongly enough to nom it.

While I'm at it, I should make a few noms

:Mimikyu: -> A+
Honestly, this thing is pretty gross on HO now that it lost, probably its best offensive check. Now that Coba's gone, and so has Obstagoon, Mimikyu has a lot more freedom and can even run Adamant if you don't feel too strongly about the Roserade matchup. Plus, with :Metagross: and :Registeel: being the new premier steel types, the former weak to Shadow Claw and the latter often not being able to hurt it without Toxic (many Registeel run SToss over Heavy Slam, at least from my experience), means that its a lot more difficult to stop. And while Incineroar is annoying, it is very easy to wear down over the course of a game due to its lack of a reliable recovery.

:Dhelmise: -> B+/A-
Oh Dhelmise my beloved, my hero, why are you down there in B ranks among stuff like Klefki and Polteageist. This thing rocks ass. While Starmie is a better hazard remover, this things brings utility Starmie couldnt dream of. Not only does Jellicent not dream of coming in fear of getting smoked back to life by a Power Whip, but also that really, most hazard setters don't want anything to do with it. And hell, without a :Incineroar: or :Guzzlord:, this thing actually serves as a pseudo wallbreaker with how few things actually want to switch into it. Hell, even :Umbreon: can get 2-shot with some chip. And, while A- might be a stretch, I think B+ would work fine.

:Linoone: -> C+ -> Higher (Maybe B-)
I don't get why anyone is talking about this. :Cobalion: is gone from the tier, and that means the singular faster ESpeed resist (I know Aerodactyl exists, but c'mon, its Aero. The new steel types, Metagross and Registeel, don't either want very with it (Stealth Rock Metagross in particular hates it since it doesn't carry BPunch).

:Weezing-Galar: -> B/B-
I hate this thing. It feels so useless when using. It checked Obstagoon, but now that thing is gone, and also gone is the one steel type it could take on. Metagross Meteor Mashes you into oblivion, SToss variants of Registeel wear you down. You don't do enough to Togekiss with Sludge Bomb while +2 Air Slashes put you in serious trouble. Even Flygon, a mon it once checked, now has begun to run Dragon Dance with Iron Taill to smack cocky gardevoir somewhere fierce, but which also has the side benefit of plowing through Weezing. You do live 1 +1 Iron Tail, but if its Lum Berry, forget about it. It's not horrible, but its not deserviing of B+ alongside Gardevoir, Chandelure, Gastrodon and Jelli.

+1 252 Atk Flygon Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Weezing-Galar: 174-206 (52 - 61.6%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Thoughts on other noms
:Cloyster: -> C (Agree)
:Crobat: -> S (Leaning to Agree, not sure)
:Lucario: -> A (Not sure)
:Raikou: and :Xurkitree: -> (Agree)
:Bronzong: -> Higher (Hard agree)
:Entei: -> B+ (Disagree)
:Barbaracle: -> (Not sure)
:PorygonZ: -> C+ (Agree)
:Sharpedo: -> A- (Disagree)
:Stakataka: -> B (Agree)
:Polteageist: -> Lower imo
:Decidueye: -> C+ (Agree)

(How do you bring the PorygonZ image there)

As fellow RU player i have to say that Polteageist placement is good because yes it has shell smash and many good sets but set i ran (Stregth sap,wisp,hex and of course shell smash) is not reliable because 70% its get ohkoed before i get to setup and stregnht sap doesnt help. so i think b-/c+ would be good rank (i think of my own experience if someone thinks otherwise and have better explanation im gonna listen <3)

Personally I feel :Polteageist: is more deserving of C+ or C, alongside the other 2 Smashers (Cloyster could probably go lower). 658Greninja mentioned it in their post, but its main issue is its insane frailty making set up difficult, as well as the fact that it has pretty much nothing to beat Dark types, especially as the 1 Dark type it did beat with some chip is now gone.
+2 252 SpA :Polteageist: Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD :Obstagoon: 198-234 (60.5 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage

:Incineroar:, :Guzzlord: and :Umbreon:, the latter especially, pretty much beat it in every imaginable scenario unless they've taken heavy chip, (over 60% in most cases), and that they can usually beat you back easily. Strength Sap sets to help, but you are risking crits all over the place, and Umbreon just straight up ignores Strength Sap with Foul Play.

And, aside for the issues already mentioned, there is the issue of it not being able to instantly drop naturally bulky Pokemon like Togekiss which are common place

+2 252 SpA :Polteageist: Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD :Togekiss: 237-280 (63.5 - 75%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA :Polteageist: Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD :Milotic: 276-326 (70 - 82.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 SpA :Polteageist: Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD :Registeel: 144-171 (39.5 - 46.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
(not even 2HKO yikes).

That's why I feel like Polteageist should actually drop to the "niche" ranks, since so many common teams have easy ways around it. Hope you understood!

Also quick nom I should've made the other day

:Umbreon: -> A+
Help this mon eats me alive. Two of its best offensive checks, Cobalion and Obstagoon, are now gone. Its Wish and Heal Bell support is also really useful for Pokemon like Nasty Plot Togekiss, and it can put otherwise foils like NP Togekiss down. The only issue I see with it is that Lucario does get free switch in on you, but Lucario has a lot less survivability than Cobalion and so more easily checked by teammates like Flygon, Starmie and Jellicent.

:Umbreon: -> A+
Help this mon eats me alive.
Now if you say this like that what is better wisp hex sweeper? then Polteageaist

Hail mons > B- / B: I've used hail in RU since the Obstagoon suspect for decent success, and now that the tier lacks Cobalioan and Volcanion, it's gotten a lot more consistent. I don't have much to add because I think we all know how full hail operates, and the teams I've been using since hail was a thing in NU are basically the same here. What's great about full hail is that the water resists we have can easily get worn down by the right chip damage till one of the hail sweepers finishes it off, or even use those waters as a setup opportunity for Abomasnow. Check out my RMT for replays in the old meta, RUPL for a couple games that used hail I've been told, and just my recent laddering adventures that has solely been hail. Hail feels like the best weather to use so I would say it's above Politoed at a minimum B- ranking.

Also Crobat to S tier makes a lot of sense.

In my opinion, ...

A+ to S-
This thing is very good as a defogger and is very splashable when building thanks to its high Speed stat allowing it to run max HP + Atk or Def depending on what you'd like; EVs are very customizable. It can also run a NP set which slaps the Steels, after getting some chip on them, with its Heat Wave; it also demolishes Rocks and 'mons like Gastrodon with Giga Drain.

A to A+

Sure, this might be a bit high, but, still, it's an amazing Electric-type, as it has Grass-type coverage. Energy Ball lets it "surprise" and OHKO 'mons that though they could come in safely like Gastrodon or Seismitoad. Yes, I say "surprise" because it always runs Grass coverage whether it be Energy Ball or Gras Knot, but people forget sometimes, and all they see is the typing-I've forgotten a few times too myself! Beast Boost lets it spiral out of control, letting it have a mini sweep or all-out sweep. Scarf is good too. It's like slower but more powerful Rotom-C without the part Grass-typing to give it away. I haven't talked about it, but Dazzling Gleam is great too; it takes care of slower more offensive Dragons (or just Dragons if you're Scarf) and hits the Fighting- and the Dark-types in the tier.

A- to A
At first, in the tier, when I saw Tornadus I thought it was a joke, a simple meme with Defiant as a sweeper, but after using it myself-it turns out, it's pretty decent only needing Registeel to be just below half to KO it with Superpower. Knock Off also removes items from bulkier 'mons (a.k.a. Leftovers) letting them to chipped more easily. U-turn is also amazing on Torn, as, after it has Knock Offed something, it can switch out into a teammate to let them pressure the bulky 'mon. Grass Knot also takes care of would-be U-turn recipients like Rhyperior, only needing to have lost 10% to ensure a KO on it.

B+ to A-
Specs Gardevoir hits like stupid with its coverage able to hit the entire tier for at least neutral. Focus Blast hits the Steels, and Shadow Ball is a nice middleground vs. most of tier + it hits Meta and Zong. While Specs has more power behind it, Scarf is more splashable countering Gon because of its Trace ability copying Gon's Leavitate, only getting hit by Stone Edge, or the rare, but more deadly, Iron Tail.

B to B+
Like what albabimam04 said-
It's a good spinner that beats the rock setters with its STABS, and its sky-high Attack stat lets it act as a pseudo wallbreaker for some teams-also a nice Water-type counter.

B to B+

It's an amazing role compressor. A decent speed control, a soft check to DD Gon; good check overall bar CB, hazard control, fast pivot, a counter to the Water-types in the tier that flood it with their presence, and it can cripple walls with Trick.

B- to B
Rotom-C, but a bit worse; it's a good scarfer for speed control, it carries Gras Knot for Seis, Gastro, and Rhyp, it's a fast pivot, but unlike Rotom-C it carries Hyper Voice which it can use as a middleground if it is unsure about a switch or doesn't want to fully commit to something, and it also outspeeds Flygon, Scarf Flygon.

C+ to B-/B
It's a quite formidable Specs wallbreaker in RU; it's combo of Specs boosted-Punk Rock boosted Boomburst and STAB Overdrive hit the tier for neutral bar Steelix. The only thing that holds this demon back is its Speed, which leaves much to be desired. A Scarf set is also usable as a revenge killer after things have been chipped.

Best for last-

UR (C for Arctovish) to B-/B

Imma basically reiterate what S1nn0hC0nfirm3d said-
Yes, I know I don't have replays, but let's be honest Hail has been coming more and more consistent in RU thanks to Volcanion and Cobalion leaving for OU and UU, respectively. Hail also uses an annoying typing in Ice as most teams don't really have an Ice resist out of their Steel-type which is hit by Fishious Rend from Arctovish and Earthquake from Sandslash-A. Aurorus is annoying as it usually acts as a suicide lead with Stealth Rock for chipping, Encore if you try to set up on it, and Earth Power for hitting Steels for some chip. All in all, Hail is annoying to face against but the combo of Registeel + Milo can take care of it quite well bar a potential Freeze-Dry from Arctovish.

A to A-
Reuniclus literally beats this thing 1v1 70% of the time-and, yes, that's because of Focus Blast's accuracy. Yes, Reuni (the defensive CM set) survives a LO Crunch and (both) a LO Dark Pulse from this thing-it's actually stupid. Anyways, the Waters counter it pretty good and chipping it with Toxic as it also chips itself with Life Orb.

B+ to B/B-
Like what albabimam04 said-
Couldn't've said it better myself-also, sure this thing gets Fire-type coverage, but it can't abuse it because the Steel-types just counter it too well.

B to B-/C+
It should honestly be with its other Shell Smashing friend, Cloyster. Yeah, it's better than it in every way, but still it's hard countered by Darks.
Sure, it can beat its Dark-type counters in the long run with Strength Sap, but most of them are too powerful requiring it to run defense-which means it loses out on power or speed, meaning it doesn't hit as hard or is outsped by certain scarfers. Or it needs a lot of help before it can get on the field. Taking care of their Dark-type is annoying, though, if they're smart. Umbreon is a pain, Incin, Pang, and Guzzy are too powerful, and Sharpedo is a(n) annoying sweeper/breaker.

C- to UR
This thing's niche is just meme-y. All it does is fake to be a Regidrago to fire off Sludge Bombs, Extrasensorys, and Flamethrowers to chip Fairies, Galarian Weezing, and Steels, respectively. It can also fake to be another Pokemon and get a revenge kill. If you status it, it's whole niche is removed as you can tell id it's Zoroark or not, also HP chip helps as well.

Ty for wasting your time reading my post! :3

VR Update (Dated 1/6/2022)

Rises:

A+ -> S
Crobat has become the single most important Pokemon in SS RU. Its flagship set of Brave Bird / U-turn / Roost / Defog or Taunt remains excellent, but Nasty Plot sets have been explored in RUPL playoffs and add another dimension to this top-tier Pokemon. These sets run one STAB (Sludge Bomb / Hurricane), Heat Wave, Nasty Plot, and either Giga Drain to lure Rhyperior or Roost if they have another teammate to lure it; this lets Crobat bypass typical checks like Registeel and Steelix.

A -> A+
Mimikyu is one of the best cleaners in the RU metagame. It’s fairly easy to set it up for a sweep and has high immediate power with a broken ability. Defensively, it also gives teams a reliable way to revenge threatening win cons like SD Lucario and DD Flygon. The departure of Obstagoon means it can afford to run Adamant more easily, though outspeeding Lucario and Roserade still has some merit.

A- -> A
Heracross is annoyed by Crobat and Weezing-Galar, but these traits haven’t held it back as much as voters once thought. They realize that Heracross is very annoying to handle without these Pokemon; even then, it can chip them down in conjunction with a Stealth Rock setter who beats them.

A- -> A
Incineroar rises as one of the best options to fill the void left by Obstagoon’s departure; its +2 Knock Off is very tough to switch into well, especially with Cobalion also having left the tier.

A- -> A
Lucario rises in the wake of Cobalion’s departure; teams without Jellicent are hard-pressed to handle its STAB attacks and it can effectively break through common fighting checks like Crobat and Weezing-Galar.

A- -> A
Obstagoon's ban made Milotic a bit less easily exploitable, causing its viability to rise as well.

B+ -> A-
Chandelure rises due to the difficulty of switching into a strong Shadow Ball; while sets like Specs are still support-reliant, there are very few good immunities to SBall and resists like Incineroar are slower and thus must take 2 hits if they switch directly in.

B+ -> A-
Gardevoir rises because of the loss of a Psychic immunity and the rise of teams that rely on fastest mon Crobat and thus struggle against its Choice Scarf set.

B+ -> A-
Steelix is one of the best physically defensive walls in a meta run by Mimikyu and Crobat, leading to a rise in its viability. Compared to Registeel, it can also more forcefully set Rocks against Defog Crobat because of its ability to threaten back with Heavy Slam, EQ on a Roost, or Head Smash.

B- -> A-
Bewear saw a tremendous rise from B- to A-. Its defensive utility is excellent with Fluffy, letting it handily check physical attackers like Dhelmise while easily eating a hit from Crobat and KOing back. It is one of the best ways to punish Umbreon. Offensively, its only real checks are Reuniclus (if non-SIlk Scarf) and predicting correctly.

B- -> A-
Heliolisk is one of the better hit-and-run attackers in this metagame, checking Togekiss and the insurgent Milotic while making the best Grass-type, Celebi, with a 4x U-turn that still only does like 40%...

B -> B+
Bronzong rises because of its ability to check top-tier threats like Crobat and Flygon while also annoying teams with the newly explored Hypnosis set; it also appreciates Obstagoon not being around to punish it for existing.

B -> B+
Dhelmise is a very threatening Pokemon whose Poltergeist threatens the majority of teams right now; the defensive utility of its Rapid Spin (which is much less easily blockable than Starmie’s) is also a win for it, as is, yep, the ban of Obstagoon. It is rather vulnerable to status, though.

Mow Rotom
B -> B+
Rotom-Mow is one of the easiest Scarfers to fit on a team and thus sees a rise in viability. It can revenge NP Crobat, a desirable trait right now, and also threaten fatter teams with Trick. Its Volt Switch is difficult to block due to the threat of STAB-boosted Leaf Storm, letting it get momentum well; it is also a serviceable Defogger.

B- -> B
Vileplume was undersold on the previous rankings as its typing coupled with utility is a very potent combination in the current meta. Vileplume is able to remove very crucial items from 'mons like Crobat and bulky Steel types through Corrosive Gas while also being an exceptional blanket check to multiple physical attackers through reliable bulk, Effect Spore to punish contact moves, and Strength Sap.

B- -> B
Tyrantrum has benefitted greatly from Cobalion's rise as well as other recent meta trends such as an increase in Crobat usage. Furthermore Obstagoon's recent ban has lessened the necessity to run Defense invested Steel types which is also a blessing for Tyrantrum. Lastly, Dragon Dance Tyrantrum with Scale Shot is able to take full advantage of teams relying on Scarf Flygon for speed control.

C+ -> B
Sigilyph's speed tier coupled with amazing coverage in Air Slash, Energy Ball, and Heat Wave, make it a very good breaker versus Bulky Offenses without a dedicated special wall such as Umbreon or Assault Vest Reuniclus. Sigilyph can also run different status moves such as Defog or Calm Mind to pose different threats to the opponent or provide your own team with much needed utility.

C+ -> B-
Escavalier is a strong and versatile core shredder with defensive utility that allows it to check threats like Celebi, Mimikyu, and CM Reuniclus while hitting hard with Knock Off, Iron Head, and Megahorn, a combo that’s generally unresisted without Cobalion.

C+ -> B-
Indeedee appreciates Obstagoon’s absence, which gives it more breathing room and makes it much easier to click STAB attacks.

C+ -> B-
Toxtricity also appreciates Obstagoon’s absence, which gives it more breathing room and makes it much easier to click STAB attacks. It also likes the rise of Steelix, who takes a massive amount from Boomburst.

C -> B-
Goodra is also a strong and versatile core shredder with defensive utility that allows it to check many special threats, such as Celebi, NP Crobat, and Raikou, and can punish any team lacking a dedicated special wall with Expert Belt-boosted Draco Meteor, Thunder(bolt), Fire Blast, and Hydro Pump.

C -> B-
Tsareena is a recently-discovered threat that can break down opposing cores after a Rapid Spin, which lets it become faster than Crobat and can KO it with Triple Axel. The ability to remove hazards is also valuable on the offensive teams it fits onto.

C -> C+
Sneasel rises slightly as a niche new Dark-type to fill the void left by Obstagoon getting banned.

C -> C+
C -> C+
C -> C+
C -> C+
Weather setters / threats became more viable in a more offensive meta.

C- -> C
A slight uptick in Doublade usage convinced voters not to leave it in C-.
Drops:
A+ -> A
Metagross' signature Cosmic Power set has declined a bit recently, with the rise of bulky waters that handle it with relative ease playing an important role there. It still has very notable versatility beyond that set, but the A rank was seen as more appropriate for it.

A -> A-
Noivern suffers from competition, as Crobat and Flygon both have taken a preeminent role in the metagame. It has attributes in between both these mons, but at the same time doesn't have the same set versatility of either, thus it drops to the A- rank.

A- -> B+
Similarly, Tornadus is still a perfectly fine pick but tends to be passed for other options. In its case, the boots set also has competition from, well, Noivern, as a pivot with fairly strong stabs, as the latter simply has better resists. The physical set is still a bit more unique, but as a whole doesn't really compare to the splashability of Crobat

B+ -> B
Seismitoad is a generally effective mon that can struggle to find a niche. As a water, it's not as sustainable as other waters, and as a ground leaves you wanting compared to Rhyperior / Steelix / Flygon. Offensive sets are still interesting, and its importance to rain sustains it more than other weather picks.

Galarian Form
B+ -> B
Weezing-Galar has always been a... fairly contentious mon. You like it or you kinda don't. Obstagoon was a big thing for it to check somewhat, but it still checks central threats in the metagame very well. Could just as well go back to B+ in another vote, and we would expect it to keep trending between those ranks for a while still.

B -> B-
Entei tends to be hard to justify as a breaker, as it lacks good setup moves and has to rely on a very heavy comp for its CM set to actually pull through.

B -> B-
Vaporeon is another pick that just faces too much competition, with Jellicent and especially Milotic being so much easier to use and sustain. Access to Heal Bell is great, but clerics are actually somewhat plentiful in this tier now, and pairing either with one isn't a very hard task.

B -> B-
B -> B-
Golurk and Polteageist suffer from lack of recognizable usage, and some unreliability in their successes. Teapot can pull through plenty of builds, but it can also fall flat even more easily. Golurk has outstanding offensive potential, but low speed and a middling typing at best defensively are issues. Breakers like Pangoro and Bewear, while different typings, will generally be seen as bringing more in a similar role.

B -> C+
B- -> C+
Grimmsnarl and Regidrago are niche options for different reasons, but both suffer from just not being good enough at most roles and typing competition. Grimmsnarl does have unique attributes but rarely can make great use of them, while Regidrago's inability to hit fairies with the set that can really make it shine as a breaker is very offputting. They both can work with some jank options, but will almost invariably lack something important to maintain consistency and thus are falling.

C+ -> C
C -> C-
C -> C-
Porygon2, Ribombee and Ferroseed simply have next to no real use the majority of times for voters, though they can do some things in some battles. P2 still has recovery and teleport, but just struggles handling a lot with no hazards immunity, a bad typing, and too much passivity due to its need to recover. Ferroseed does have knock and a good hazards game, but can also be bait for way too many threats. Ribombee doesn't break much and webs are too inconsistent, but its speed and pivoting are still somewhat nice to have if you like don't want to use Crobat.
Additions:
UR -> C+
UR -> C+
Alola Form
UR -> C+
Weather setters / threats became more viable in a more offensive meta.

UR -> C+
Drapion also rises slightly as a niche new Dark-type to fill the void left by Obstagoon getting banned.

:bw/ninetales: UR to C

Torkoal's gone but sun isn't dead! Ninetales is honestly a good wallbreaker on its own, as it easily dismantles a lot of common MiloLix balance builds. While it doesn't bring Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock, it supports sun teams just fine and is honestly a lot better than Torkoal in some situations, mainly where its Speed comes into play. You do need to pair it with Sunny Day Klefki but that's not a downside because you're hard-pressed to fit a Stealth Rock setter anyways so the Spikes are a wonder to have. Ninetales especially pairs nicely with SubCM Cresselia which I find to be currently a huge threat on sun teams because sun teams support it so well by weakening or removing hurdles like Golispod, Incineroar, Haze Milotic, and Registeel (once Knocked, it loses to Cresselia). Sun is naturally a worse offense killer than rain (which is why I like Ditto on sun) but currently, it can take advantage of the tier's generally poor Fire resistance and its ill-preparedness to Shiftry and SubCM Cresselia. I also find it's a lot easier to build sun team which can win after the sun runs out, unlike rain and hail.
