The idea of this thread is to provide a visual list of which Pokémon do what in the SS RU metagame. This will help new and experienced players alike in finding Pokémon that fit their teams when looking for specific roles, as well as help players build more diverse teams by not always using the same Pokémon to fill the same role.

Below, we have the various roles an SS RU team might want a Pokémon to fill. For each of these roles is a list of Pokémon which can fulfill that role; all of the Pokémon listed can work at least somewhat viably as a performer of the role, as such they have been ranked in no particular order. If there is a Pokémon which is not listed which can perform well in a certain role, please feel free to post about it, and we may add it. However, this thread is not meant to be a place for discussion about the viability of Pokémon in general, unless a Pokémon's placement is drastically off - we have a Metagame Discussion Thread and Viability Rankings for that.​

Hi Sensei Axew, I personally feel like Gastrodon should also be in the block section the same with Drampa because Drampa has the insane sweeping potential with CM+HyperVoice+Block. Block Gastro allows to Toxic stall a lot of Pokemon in the tier such as Seismitoad, Mantine, Gigalith, Drapion (beats it with Scald), and Golispod. Also, Seismitoad should be in the rain section too because it's capable of being a threat in rain because of Swift Swim+Life orb increasing the damage output and its niche physical move pool helps with pokemon such as Vaporeon, Quagsire, and Gastrodon. Toxicroak in the bullet punch section seems super off tbh, I personally don't think it should be in that section since the only relevant Fairy is Specs Gardevoir which is slower than Toxicroak, and its main priority is Sucker Punch possibly even vacuum wave. Kingdra should belong in the Rain category it's a powerful wallbreaker in rain and Focus energy sets in rain are a pain to deal with. Vikavolt should never have agility in its move-slot so I don't know why it's in the Agility department it's usually just a web-setter and possibly a specs wallbreaker, but never agility. Finally, Tangela should be added to the Toxic, Sleep, and Physical defensive walls sections. I personally don't find a need to explain Tangela and why it belongs in those compartments. (I might be a little late on making this post because shifts are in 2 days, but these are the ones that I think won't be affected much in the upcoming shifts .)

I've been advocating for Stakataka lately and I would like to point out that since its now in RU, I think it could be a good Trick Room user in the RU metagame. Thoughts? It can also make good use of Stealth Rock and Toxic too.
