Project SS RU Next Best Thing - On break

This week's winner is Choice Specs by C0nfiden1 0yster! Congratulations, your set will be added to the Hall of Fame!

:ss/grimmsnarl:
This week's mon is Grimmsnarl! In older variations of the SS RU meta, Grimmsnarl served primarily as a supportive Pokemon due to the combination of its amazing ability in Prankster as well as being able to set dual screens. However, Light Clay was banned in RU a while before Grimmsnarl returned to the tier, so setting dual screens isn't as viable as it once was. What else can Grimmsnarl do to compensate? Let's find out!

No banned sets! Submissions are open until Sunday, then I'll start voting! Cheers everyone!

Specially defensive Substitute Bulk Up
Grimmsnarl (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SpD / 96 Spe
Careful Nature
- Spirit Break
- Bulk Up
- Substitute
- Sucker Punch / Darkest Lariat

The main idea of this set is to use Bulk Up, Spirit Break, and Substitute to try and sweep. Grimmsnarl can find opportunity versus Pokemon such as Celebi, Noivern, Gastrodon, and especially Reuniclus. Fun fact this set can even beat gweezing due to spa drops making it too weak to break substitute. The set has enough SpD investment to take Milotic's Scald with Sub so that you can try and set up on none Haze variants. Sucker Punch is a neat combo with Substitute as your opponent would need to attack to break the Substitute and Darkest Lariat is more consistent Dark STAB.

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough

Hits super hard, superpower hits Steels, Sucker kills everything faster, and p-rough is for everything else. Prankster trick band is also useful.

Walmart Brand Gardevoir (Grimmsnarl) (M) @ Salac Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Burning Jealousy
- Draining Kiss

The plan as they say, is simple. You simply rely on one of multiple paths to this sets success.

Plan A. Their Router Explodes.

Plan B. They lack their Frontal Lobe

Plan C. They have a doctors appointment coming up and your other 5 mons are some grimy stall staples

Plan D. they dont have a crobat, any fast scarfer, any haze water, any good special bulk, or any brain cells. no priority either.

Or just assume they have standard stuff like Starmie Noivern Roserade Celebi balances and just matchup fish them!

Thunder Wave Grimmsnarl

Grimmsnarl (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Spirit Break
- Thunder Wave
- Swagger
- Foul Play

Here we have a supportive Grimmsnarl with priority Thunder Wave (the key of the set) e Swagger.
Thunder Wave is always a good options to stop fast pokèmons/Scarfers, and it is even better when combined with a following Swagger for "parafusion" strategy.
Not only that, but Foul Play is much better alongside Swagger.

Spirit Break is here for utility.
8 Spe EVs are enough to reach 158 Spe points and outspeed other uninvested (or minimally invested) neutral base-60 Spe pokemons.

Sub pro tox
Entei @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Substitute
- Protect
- Toxic

With the combination of Toxic Protect and Substitute Entei is great at annoying the tiers many Fire resists such as Milotic, Flygon, and Gastrodon. The combination of Substitute Protect and Pressure can also let Entei compete with or beat Pokemon you may not think it should such as Calm Mind Reuniclus and being able to PP stall a good chunk of Suicune's PP potentially handling it in tandem with another Pokemon. Flare Blitz is used over Sacred Fire as the burn Chance of Sacred Fire can ruin this sets ability too spread Toxic. Umbreon has enough bulk to take 2 Flare Blitz and it punishes Toxic via Synchronize, Cobalion can take advantage of Umbreon and not only that it could benefit from Entei's ability to pressure bulky water-type Pokemon.

Specs

Entei @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Hyper Beam
- Toxic

Eruption hits super duper hard, hits stuff very hard and can be tough to deal with due to Toxic and natural bulk. Hazards are a pain but it can get around that. Hyper Beam can chunk things like Flygon and Noivern better and can be a good last resort option
