Hi everyone. Apparently the calcs in the Jellicent submission were done vs non Life Orb Jolly Cloyster. Sorry about this mistake on my part. I thus will be moving Jellicent to checks. Feel free to change your vote if you want to do so, specially Wooper Person who had already voted for Jellicent.

Ty to everyone who voted. The winners this time are

Now for the next Victim of the Week we have... Moltres-Galar!
:ss/Moltres-Galar:
Moltres-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fiery Wrath
- Hurricane
- Agility / Taunt

Being a Shadow Ball and Earthquake resists with an amazing 125 SpDef allows Moltres-Galar to fit on archetypes such as Rain, HO and BO. It's ability Berserk gives him at +1 boost in SpAtk, which means that it is a threat even without having clicked Nasty Plot. Taunt can also help it prevent recovery and status from pokemon such as Clefable and Blissey. What pokemon can stand up against Moltres-Galars assault?

Submissions end on Wednesday August 10th at 23:59 EST
Please specify if your submission is a counter or a check

Note: Please try to give a good reasoning as to why your submission may count as a counter or check. Before the voting process starts I will make a separate post to see if everyone agrees with the classification.

Mr. Sh*thead (Tyranitar) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch

Mr. Sh*thead (Tyranitar) as a counter

GMolt Double Dance is actually a really good set, as I have used it in alot of mid ladder matches myself. It has been performing very spectacularly. However, despite all these, there's just this one pain in the ass for GMolt. Tyranitar, whatever set.

I mean, GMolt can't even OHKO Tyranitar at +6 (as if it's able to setup that much in front of Ttar tho) meanwhile Ttar can easily take the +6 hit and kill GMolt in return. Stone edge isn't even it's only way of kill GMolt. It also has Ice Punch, a 100% accurate move.

Even behind screens GMolt still gets easily killed by Ttar, meaning it will be impossible to setup with GMolt on a Ttar.

+6 252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 178-210 (52.1 - 61.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+6 252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 218-257 (63.9 - 75.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Moltres-Galar with an ally's Aurora Veil: 300-354 (93.4 - 110.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Moltres-Galar with an ally's Aurora Veil: 151-178 (47 - 55.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage
+2 252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 109-129 (31.9 - 37.8%) -- 92.4% chance to 3HKO

+2 252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 89-105 (26 - 30.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

:sm/Tapu Koko:
Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs :Choice Specs:
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Volt Switch
- Grass Knot

In the situation where Moltres-Galar uses Nasty Plot, Tapu Koko outspeeds and OHKOs with Thunderbolt. Although, if Molres-G uses Agility; Tapu Koko lives the Hurricane and OHKOs.

252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Moltres-Galar in Electric Terrain: 380-450 (118.3 - 140.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 104-123 (37 - 43.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

AV Melmetal as a Check

:ss/melmetal:
Melmetal @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 212 SpD / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double Iron Bash
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch

Melmetal is able to basically live any hit and KO back. The only way GMolt can reasonably break through is flinching through with Fiery Wrath at +2, and even then they need some chip first to 2HKO (2% chance to 2HKO). Melmetal on the other hand is able to KO back with DIB (81.3% chance to OHKO).

:moltres-galar:
Unboosted
252 SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 0 HP / 212 SpD Assault Vest Melmetal: 88-105 (21.4 - 25.5%) -- 0.3% chance to 4HKO
252 SpA Moltres-Galar Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 212 SpD Assault Vest Melmetal: 54-64 (13.1 - 15.5%) -- possible 7HKO

+2
+2 252 SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 0 HP / 212 SpD Assault Vest Melmetal: 177-208 (43 - 50.6%) -- 2% chance to 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Moltres-Galar Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 212 SpD Assault Vest Melmetal: 108-127 (26.2 - 30.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

:melmetal:
252+ Atk Iron Fist Melmetal Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Moltres-Galar: 306-360 (95.3 - 112.1%) -- approx. 81.3% chance to OHKO

SD Weavile as a CHECK

:ss/weavile:
Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Jolly Nature
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard

Since it doesn't take damage from hazards thanks to the Timbs, Weavile can pretty easily stay above 79% to ensure that G-Moltres's unboosted Hurricane never OHKOs, crits notwithstanding. Unboosted 3-hit Triple Axel obliterates G-Moltres, and even a 2-hit into Ice Shard generally proves lethal. After a Nasty Plot, G-Moltres OHKOs with Hurricane (if it hits, of course) but cannot outspeed Weavile; after an Agility, G-Moltres outspeeds Weavile but cannot OHKO it from full with Hurricane. In a dire situation, Ice Shard does up to 50% to G-Moltres which can KO a weakened one in a pinch.

Of course, Weavile cannot safely beat a healthy G-Moltres that has both an Agility and a Nasty Plot boost. But if you're running a team SD Weavile fits on that somehow managed to let G-Moltres safely get both boosts and stay healthy enough to not be mildly threatened by Ice Shard, you probably misplayed extremely badly.

:ss/clefable:
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave / Toxic
- Knock Off

Unaware Clefable is a check. Since Goltres' Nasty Plot boosts have no effect, Clefable avoids even a 2HKO from its attacks, and can threaten Goltres in return with a 2HKO from Moonblast, removal of its Timbs, or a status ailment.

Taunt variants of Goltres can potentially break through, but unless Clefable is heavily worn down, it has to land a 70% accurate move 3 times in a row in order to actually do so.

:moltres-galar:
252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 252 HP / 56+ SpD Clefable: 63-75 (15.9 - 19%) -- possible 8HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Moltres-Galar Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 56+ SpD Clefable: 153-181 (38.8 - 45.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

:clefable:
0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Moltres-Galar: 162-192 (50.4 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0- Atk Clefable Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Moltres-Galar: 25-30 (7.7 - 9.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever

reserving pink blob (blissey)

:ss/blissey:
Blissey @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic
- Teleport

Counter. If it doesn't have taunt, toxic it and stall it out. Even if it does, seismic toss is a 4HKO, whlie hurricane has a very small chance to 5HKO (and that's assuming opp hits all of their hurricanes).

Hi everyone, sorry for being so late. So right now I am considering the following:

Counters: :Tyranitar: :Tapu Koko:
Checks: :Clefable: :Melmetal: :Blissey: :Weavile:

Blissey was submitted as a counter, but it in fact loses if GMoltres has Taunt and Nasty Plots as Blissey switches In (even if Blissey seismic tosses the turn gmoltres goes for taunt)

Let me know if you all agree or if you think a mon would be better off in a different category.

There are just a couple cycles left and I already have the respective mons in mind. Please dm if you have any suggestions and I will make sure to check it out if I missed it. Keep in mind to keep the suggestions "viable".
