Marshadow @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Spectral Thief
- Knock Off
- Toxic

Ever seen WispThief Marsh before? Yeah same here. Quite a nasty set tbh, can cripple things like Zac-C which tend to come in on you when they get to know that you're (cough) Leftovers (cough). Wisp cripples them on the switch-in, and is a very useful move anyways, as Necrozma-DM and Ferrothorn don't like being Wisped. Spectral Thief is classic STAB choice, which boasts nice power, and also has the added effect of stealing the opponent's boosts. Knock Off is an extremely useful move which removes the opponent's item unless they have cursed things like Griseous Orb or Zac-C. Toxic puts the foe on as death timer, which might hinder whatever they want to do.
Now, the 72 Spe Zac-C, which are supposedly supposed to outspeed Adamant Marsh, get outsped by this set and Wisp'd before attacking. Now a Wisp'd Zac-C translates into a bad Zac-C, so that's a load off you!! After Wisping you would survive a Behemoth Blade with 252 HP EV's! What a badass mon, this. And what a shitass mon, Wisp'd Zac-C.
Anyways, you survive Behemoth Blade, steal the Zac-C's boosts and then you're free to do whatever. Even without Attack EV's, Spectral Thief hits quite hard. After Burning your foes, you become very bulky on the physical side, surviving a +2 Bolt Strike from Zekrom and all.
Genius set tbh.

Sub Swagger Marshadow is a pretty old set that's always been a gimmick but it's a really strong one surprisingly. When paired with para spam and Spikes, the switches it forces can really start making progress, and a boosted Marshadow can be an incredible breaker. Force Palm lets it para things itself, with Swagger for additional hax paired with Spectral for a combo that can be super deadly in the right situations.

Because of my profile pic I kinda had to submit something. Protective Pads lets Marshadow engage against Necrozma-DM without too much trouble; 168 Speed IVs lets Marshadow outspeed offensive Eternatus and standard Zacian-C. Calyrex-S won't stay in unless all four of Marshadow's moves are revealed, as it's wary of getting OHKOed by Shadow Sneak. This set pretty much takes advantage of Marshadow's reputation as a Calyrex-S check, and offensively pressures many common mons that otherwise would be a pain to deal with.

252 Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 195-229 (48.9 - 57.5%) -- 95.3% chance to 2HKO

Like physical marshadow, special attacking marsh can get the same boost of its sp atk and sp def similar to regular marsh. It also gets the same stab and most of the same coverage that physical gets. Focus blast has the same power as cc with just less acc. Shadow ball is also similar to spectral thief with just slightly less power. As for grass knot that can be helpful for any fat and heavy mons.

Have you ever wanted to use a marsh that can't break even dusk mane? Well this is the one for you. Steals boosts from setup mons and outspeeds LO calyrex even tho LO marsh already has shadow sneak but that's fine. Dual stab, force palm for para since dusk mane and etern exist, toxic for toxic. Shadow sneak just in case you are staring down an LO marsh. Prob works best if you face webs.

Have you ever wanted a pokemon that can make defensive walls look WEAK!!! WELL HEY, YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE with this Marshadow set it can solve all your problems. With this set Marshadow Has the right to call ALL the physical opposing pokemon BAD! Since Marshadow has access to Will-O-Wisp AND Bulk Up, Marshadow can become an OFFENSIVE TANK!!!! WHO WOULDNT WANT THAT!!??? HE EVEN SCARES ZACIAN AFTER ONE BULK UP (If they don't have Play Rough), BUT WHAT A BADASS LIKE DADDY YESS!!!! Marshadow ALSO LOVES STATS, so as the little thief he is HE WILL STEAL THE STATS AND USE IT AGAINST THEM MAKING HIM THE ULTIMATE THREAT TO SOCIETY. There only being 4 Viable normal types in the game being Chansey, Blissey, Porygon2, and untransformed ditto, With the first 3 of them being not as common as ditto but ditto really wouldn't like being wisped / pp stalled.

The momentum is one of the most important aspects of the game and this Marshadow offers a strong one-time-only U-turn in the form of CC+Eject Pack.
Close Combat is strong, but it usually force you to switch because it ruins your nice natural bulk.
Acrobatics is the only variation in the moves because you can reliably use at 110 base power and is good under the Dynamax.

"When angered or attacking, Marshadow's fighting spirit will begin to burn, causing it to become Zenith Marshadow. In this state, its headgear, wrist bumps, and collar flare up and resemble green and yellow flames. Marshadow's eyes also flare up when in this state, but do not change in color." (source)

Once upon a time, in a metagame where you could only use a little bunch of legendaries Pokemon, a trainer searched a way to deal with a gigantic purple dragon, named Eternatus. After thinking at it for some time, he found it. However, to deal with this dragon, he needed to enrage one of his Pokemon: Marshadow. Now, more than one year later, Marshadow recalls what his former trainer used to teach it. In memory of this trainer, Marshadow uses Outrage in order to beat the purple dragon.

I hope you like this story, now it's time for the explanation of the set, even though it could be obvious what Outrage is for. Outrage is a move I used to use on my Marshadow's sets, especially on the Choice Scarf one. However, in some teams, I preferred putting Zen Headbutt to deal with Toxapex (you can see an example of a team using it here). In Anything Goes, Outrage is far better because it has more power, there's a lot of Dragon-type Pokemon in the metagame, and also it has the possibility of decreasing the Attack stat of the opposing Pokemon, which is useful to prevent a sweep, or to allow Marshadow to not be OHKOed (especially because it can't steal the opposing boosts without Spectral Thief).
The rest of the set is pretty classic: double STAB with the priority boosted by Technician. I prefer Poltergeist on this set because it's the main attack Marshadow will use, and it won't be annoyed by no item Pokemon, unless you Knocked them Off (but a Knocked Off Eternatus is not a problem, because of Outrage).

Reserving Salac Berry / Custap berry Marshadow

Here goes! This is the Marsh that Poobanans used against me which I really liked. Here's the set:

Marshadow @ Custap Berry / Salac Berry
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Reversal
- Endure
- Shadow Sneak
- Poltergeist

Also, here's a Poképaste of the same thing.

The set is a really interesting variant of the standard Adamant Marshadow build. While this set often opts to go for a Focus Sash, Life Orb, or some similar item. However, this set uses a Salac or Custap Berry instead. Endure allows Marshadow to tank a hit from another powerful sweeper, allowing Reversal to reach max power and triggering Custap/Salac Berry. This means that it can immediately outspeed the opponent and retaliate with a ridiculously powerful Reversal. While Salac Berry allows Marshadow to keep its newfound strength for longer before being KOd. However, it is weak to opposing priority users. For example, if Marshadow uses endure against an offensive Yveltal, it will take the first Oblivion Wing but then immediately lose to Sucker Punch before it can land Reversal.

This is where the Custap Berry set is useful. It will priority-boost Reversal, allowing Marshadow to KO Yveltal and deal some additional damage with Shadow Sneak before getting KOd by a Pokémon faster than itself, like Zacian or Regieleki. This version of the set is better suited to KOing a single Pokémon, as opposed to eliminating multiple opponents like the previous set. It should also be noted that the Salac Berry version hates Sticky Webs, whereas this isn't as much of a problem for the Custap Berry version.

Here are some interesting offensive calcs!

252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Zacian-Crowned: 309-364 (94.7 - 111.6%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Yveltal: 364-429 (92.6 - 109.1%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 16 HP / 36+ Def Zygarde: 262-309 (72.5 - 85.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kyurem-White: 762-896 (194.8 - 229.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Poltergeist (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Shadow Shield Lunala: 300-354 (62.7 - 74%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dracovish: 348-411 (108.4 - 128%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Poltergeist (110 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 210-247 (65.8 - 77.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Poltergeist (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Calyrex-Ice: 270-320 (66.8 - 79.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Palkia: 348-411 (108.4 - 128%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Ferrothorn: 552-650 (156.8 - 184.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Marshadow Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Zekrom: 297-351 (87 - 102.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

That's all. Hope you enjoyed it!

Week 8 - Xerneas
:ss/xerneas:

Xerneas is one of the best offensive threats in AG because of Geomancy and Dynamax making it an excellent sweeper, good stats and coverage, and Fairy Aura. It can play mind games with its biggest check, Necrozma-DM, by stalling out its Dynamax turns with Substitute and Max Guard, proceeding to break through it with Max Lightning. Thunder is also useful against Ho-Oh and Zacian-C. Xerneas's Fairy typing also notably allows it to deal with Yveltal, Marshadow, and Zygarde-C. Defensive sets, while uncommon, are useful for their ability to check the likes of Marshadow and Zygarde-C more reliably, while providing Aromatherapy or Defog support for teammates. Xerneas has limited moveset options, but let's see if you can be creative with this Pokemon.

Banned sets

The voting phase for Xerneas will start on Sunday.

EVs: 176 Def / 252 SpA / 80 Spe OR 168 Def / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Thunder
- Thunder Wave

This set's pretty simple. Calm Mind is used to bolster Xerneas' offensive power, Moonblast is its main STAB move, and Thunder's a useful coverage option that hits most of what Moonblast doesn't hit. As Calm Mind doesn't boost Speed, Thunder Wave is used to cripple checks that come in. Life Orb strengthens Moonblast enough to OHKO much of the unresisted metagame and makes Xerneas deadly with Dynamax, even without any boosts.

While Geomancy Xerneas is adept at stalling out Dynamax with Substitute, this set can just switch out and set up with Calm Mind again, removing the need to cut its HP. Life Orb attacks at +1 are comparable to attacks at +2, which helps Xerneas act effectively as a slightly weaker multi-use sweeper.

252+ SpA Life Orb Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 324-382 (95 - 112%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
+1 252+ SpA Life Orb Xerneas Max Lightning vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 305-360 (76.6 - 90.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (Thunder)

Since atk and sp atk are the same on xern it doesn't effect u negatively if you choose physical. Since xern doesn't get the geo boost on physical using band would make it nearly as strong. Play Rough being nearly as strong as moonblast helps for the stab move. Close Combat helps for steel types. As for rock slide and megahorn they both are just strong moves. This set can also be used for dynamax.

Double team + Geomancy / HIT OR MISS

Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 160 Def / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Substitute
- Double Team

OK First off Xerneas Is A BAD B*TCH SHE DONT NEED POWER HERB TO GET UP GEOMANCY and that's why this set Is so good. With Double Team making pokemon that would usually scare Xerneas away like dusk mane, Ferrothorn, and Zacian (commonly dusk mane tho) scared that they won't hit and will be killed instead. With max evasion, Xerneas will be in a safe position to use Geomancy while it is dodging dusk manes hits and as the bad b*tch she is, she can use it again and again and again until she's maxed out because nobody can disturb her in the process but when dusk mane notices that he isn't hitting and Xerneas is just setting up he will Dynamax trying to stop Xerneas making the opponent waste his Dynamax. The 160 defense EVS makes it so that Earthquake cant break her Sub since Earthquake is more spammable than Sunsteel Strike.

Screener Xerneas

Xerneas @ Light Clay
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Rest
- Light Screen
- Reflect

General idea
I think that this is a general improvement of the standard defensive set because it provides better long-term support with the screens + Light Clay while using them alongside its bulk.
Keep in mind that, if your Screens turns your opponent's attacks into 3HKO, Xerneas is able to use effectively Rest.
This Xerneas can withstand many hits from Dynamaxed pokèmon under the screens even without max defensive investment.
Rest is there to compensate the lack of Leftovers and it is always useful to get rid of detrimental status.

EVs (spread)
184 Spe EVs + Jolly nature is enough to outspeed 252 Spe+ pokèmons with base-90 Speed (i.e. Groudon): this is important in order to set-up a screen before being hit. Some nice calcs:
  • +2 252 Atk Life Orb Groudon Max Quake vs. 252 HP / 72 Def Xerneas through Reflect: 320-376 (70.1 - 82.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • 252+ Atk Life Orb Yveltal Max Airstream vs. 252 HP / 72 Def Xerneas through Reflect: 148-174 (32.4 - 38.1%) -- 97.4% chance to 3HKO
  • 252+ Atk Necrozma-Dusk-Mane Max Steelspike vs. 252 HP / 72 Def Xerneas through Reflect: 261-307 (57.2 - 67.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • 252 SpA Kyogre Max Geyser vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Xerneas in Rain through Light Screen: 207-245 (45.3 - 53.7%) -- 41.4% chance to 2HKO (76 SpD EVs are needed on Xerneas to avoid this 2HKO)

Team(mates) support
Heal Bell/Aromatheraphy helps a lot to make Rest more reliable and hazards control helps to preserve Xerneas' health.

Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Thunder
- Focus Blast
- Trick / Defog / Aromatherapy / Any filler you want really

I don't think this has ever been used much, but it seems to have been considered good enough to justify a set on Xerneas's Gen 6 and 7 analyses. The idea is that most of the typical Geomancy Xerneas's checks have to switch in when they expect it to set up, then cripple it or hit it back with a STAB move, so what if you could just attack with most of the power on the switch instead?

Calcs to show the idea of what you can do:
252+ SpA Choice Specs Xerneas Focus Blast vs 184 HP / 0 SpD Zacian-C: 192-227 (51.7 - 61%) - guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Xerneas Focus Blast vs 252 HP / 4 SpD Necrozma-DM: 201-237 (50.5 - 59.5%) - guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Xerneas Thunder vs 248 HP / 52 SpD Ho-Oh - 264-312 (63.6 - 75.1%) - guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 373-439 (109.3 - 128.7%) - guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs 252 HP / 212+ SpD Eternatus: 262-310 (54.1 - 64%) - guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Additionally, unlike Geomancy Xerneas, you have a filler slot to run a utility move like Aromatherapy, Trick, or Defog.

Reserving Focus Blast Xerneas

:ss/Xerneas:

Here's the Xerneas set I came up with:

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Thunder / Substitute
- Focus Blast
- Geomancy

This is a variation of the standard Geomancy Xerneas which, IMO, is far superior to the currently popular version (provided the opponent doesn't have a Ditto). While Power Herb + Geomancy is a standard Xern build, most people opt to go for Moonblast as a STAB, Thunder as coverage, and Substitute to give it a bit more longevity and allow it to take out Ditto. However, I've found that Focus Blast is a much better coverage option than Thunder. While Thunder has more PP, Focus Blast has the exactly same accuracy and 10 more base power. Additionally, it can rip through Pokémon that otherwise check Xerneas like Ferrothorn and NDM, just to name a few. While this does open up a weakness to Poison-types, it's no secret that Steel-types are much more prevalent and a bigger threat to Xerneas than Poison ones. Heck, Xern can OHKO most light Poison-types with Moonblast despite the resistance.

However, Thunder still is a great option for Xerneas. That's why this set has an additional slot where Thunder can be utilized. However, if Ditto is causing problems for you, feel free to swap Thunder for Substitute.

Here are some calcs :)
+2 252+ SpA Xerneas Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Ferrothorn: 374-442 (106.2 - 125.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ SpA Xerneas Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Zacian-Crowned: 256-302 (78.5 - 92.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and 2 layers of Spikes
+2 252+ SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Eternatus: 474-558 (112.5 - 132.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ SpA Xerneas Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Melmetal: 546-644 (115.1 - 135.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ SpA Xerneas Max Lightning vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 312-368 (78.3 - 92.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after 3 layers of Spikes

Hope you guys like this!
