- Fickle Beam / Earth Power
- Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]
Hydrapple is a good potential wallbreaker for Dragon teams with its two amazing STAB moves in Giga Drain and Fickle Beam, both of which can ease the matchup against Water and Ground teams. At +2, Giga Drain keeps Hydrapple healthy in battle while also hitting pesky Water- and Ground-types like Swampert, Ursaluna-B, and Great Tusk. Fickle Beam after a Nasty Plot boost threatens Dragon-types such as Gouging Fire and Garchomp, as well as having a chance to dish out double the damage to land an OHKO on Dragonite. Earth Power can be run over Fickle Beam to threaten Fire-, Steel-, and Poison-types like non-Air Balloon Heatran, Iron Treads, and Sneasler. Substitute works great in tandem with Hydrapple’s decent bulk and HP, making it easy for Hydrapple to set up on Pokemon such as Great Tusk, Hippowdon, and Dondozo. The given EV spread allows Hydrapple to outpace Hisuian Goodra while also maximizing its bulk.

Gouging Fire makes for a great offensive teammate for Hydrapple, helping it get rid of Fairy-type threats like Klefki, Hatterene, and Iron Valiant while also hitting Ice-type threats in Articuno and Chien-Pao. Garchomp is another good offensive Pokemon to pair with Hydrapple, as it can give entry hazard support while also checking Poison-, Steel-, and Fire-types for Hydrapple, like Alolan Muk, Hisuian Goodra, and Hisuian Arcanine. Hisuian Goodra is a great special wall to pair with Hydrapple, as it’s able to take hits from Flutter Mane and Greninja. Choice Specs Dragapult can help outspeed and defeat other threats to Hydrapple, such as Gholdengo, Flutter Mane, and Hatterene. With a +1 Thunderclap, Raging Bolt can take care of fast Flying-types that would threaten Hydrapple, like Enamorus. Latios is also a great teammate for Hydrapple, as it has access to Calm Mind and can help alleviate the matchup against Poison-types such as Galarian Weezing. Latias can be used as an alternative to Latios, as it can provide further utility in Healing Wish. Archaludon is a strong physical wall that can check Chien-Pao and provide entry hazard support in Stealth Rock. In return, Hydrapple can take out troublesome Ground-types for the team like Quagsire, Great Tusk, and Ursaluna-B.

RodentTamer I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but can you rewrite this to match a hydrapple in a Dragon team instead?

Also, please follow the format of how analyses are done (one paragraph for set, one paragraph for team mates).

You also dont need to use caps on anything, and double check if Pokemon actually have that move in SV. Thank you :blobnom:

Hii a few things ive notice. Plz follow the correct formatting as the spoiler above. I've also saw that you added some moves on the main set (or was included in the first paragraph) which was not approved by Neko other than Earth Power by Giga Drain. So Leftovers, Hydro Pump, and Yawn (Remove yawn from the moveset.) should be in the Other Options section. Also the flow of the first paragraph is off, It should be ordered: Intro sentence, then Nasty Plot, then Giga Drain, then E power since its sashed by Giga, then Fickle beam, then sub. Then talk about the item of choice in which case hdb, then since its a specific ev spread... Write a sentence on what the given spread is for. then second paragraph is about teammates (which you did fine.) Strategy Comments is only for move selections that is not on the main moveset, not in game battling. Also make sure you add a space between the slash so it should be Giga Drain / Earth Power not Giga Drain/Earth Power. Once again please re format the analysis and i will take a look afterwards, ty!

The set should be
Hydrapple @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 184 HP / 184 Def / 140 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain

Hydrapple is a good potential wallbreaker for Dragon teams with its two amazing STABS moves in Giga Drain and Fickle Beam, both in which can ease help the very difficult Water and Ground matchup that some Dragon teams face. Nasty Plot is a key choice for Hydrapple as it allows Hydrapple to hit pokemon who resist its STABs and coverage or not, very hard. At +2, Giga Drain, one of Hydrapple’s main STABs, keeps Hydrapple it nice and healthy in battle while also hitting pesky Water- and Ground-types type pokemon like Hisuian Samurott, Swampert, and Great Tusk Ogerpon-W, Rotom-Wash, and Greninja for super effective damage (Waterpon takes neutral damage and we rather just hit it with Fickle Beam, Rotom-W is not really used here, and Greninja outspeeds and takes out hydrapple with Ice Beam. Hisuian Samurott, Swampert, and Great Tusk are better mentions.). Giga Drain also helps to get rid of opposing Garchomp, and Great Tusk too after a Nasty Plot. Earth Power hits common fire pokemon in Heatran and Cinderace hard, and helps keep the momentum on a possible Poison check coming in such as Galarian Slowbro, Galarian Weezing, or Hisuian Sneasler pretty hard too. (Redo this sentence, Galarian Slowbro not used and Galarian Weezing his levitate so its not getting hit by e power. honestly just talk about why can it be run over Fickle beam, then give another sentence on whats the downside of running E power over Fickle Beam. so move the E power sentence after you talked about Fickle beam.) Fickle Beam threatens Dragon-types like Gouging Fire, one of Hydrapple’s other primary STABs, hits Kyurem, Dragapult, and Garchomp at +2 for super effective damage. Fickle Beam also has a chance to dish out 160+ damage to the aforementioned mons and potentially OHKOing them. The chance to KO increases the more Hydrapple is given chances to set up with Nasty Plot. Substitute works great in tandem with Hydrapple’s decent bulk and HP, making it easy for Hydrapple to get a Nasty Plot in before the substitute breaks. That way, Hydrapple can an have an easier job picking off any pokemon that it’s teammates struggle to deal with in their own. (What mons is Hydrapple using sub against?) Heavy Duty Boots helps with any entry hazards that would weaken cripple Hydrapple very badly, like Sticky or Electro Web or Toxic Spikes for example, and helps keep its hp full, as Hydrapple wouldn’t want to risk losing to a mon due to chip damage. (Add leftovers sentence.) This EV spread helps Hydrapple prolong its bull so that it can set up, while also out speeding the likes of Clodsire, and Toxapex. The ev spread is just to outspeed hisuian goodra while maximizing its bulk.

Hisuian Goodra is a great support mon for Hydrapple thanks to its SpD bulk, and its access to Acid Armor which can turn it to a very imposing defensive mon for the Dragon team it’s on. It also helps combat the Fairy weakness from pokemon like Iron Valiant and Flutter Mane, both in which pose a big threat to the Dragon team they’re attacking. Kommo-o is a very amazing answer for Ice types as it’s able to Ko a number of Ice type threats ranging from Chien-Pao to Mamoswine thanks to Clangorous Scales and it’s Fighting STABS and priority moves. Dragonite is another good support for Hydrapple due to its ability in Multiscale, and access to Roost. That way, it can keep its self healthy while stomaching hits that the other mons on its team rather not come in on. If Dragonite is banded, it can help break through other fast Dragon pokemon like opposing Dragapult with its Dragon STABs or coverage. Gouging Fire’s immense bulk and spectacular typing allow it to threaten a lot of threats to the team it’s on, forcing Hatterene, Kyurem, and opposing Hisuian Goodra out. Hydreigon and Roaring Moon are good answers to pick off Latios and Latios with their Speed and STABs that hit them Super Effectively. Kyurem helps hit Corviknight, Skarmory, and other dangerous Flying pokémon that would threaten Hydrapple with a flying STAB. Garchomp last but not least helps hit both Steel and Poison pokémon that would otherwise wall Hydrapple and would check them if it were to come in to take a hit from one of them.
- Honestly the second paragraph just need to be redone. The teammate option you are writing sounds like you are nitpicking certain dragon teams, which is not the case of the analysis. Explain how the teammates are good teammates for Hydrapple, not some dragon teams. Some info on certain mons feels off. Also start with offensive teammates first, then defensive teammates. Also tell what hydrapple does in return for the teammates: can be from takin out certain mons for them.

Yawn is very good choice to use instead of Substitute so that you can get a free set up or easily win a 1v1, it can also be used to get a key mon on the opponents team out of the way. Hydro Pump can also be used to hit Fire types like Volcarona as well.

Earth Power can also be used over Fickle Beam to hit Fire and Poison pokemon such as Heatran, Iron Moth, and Hisuian Sneasler, all who would otherwise threaten Hydrapple. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Hydrapple to be immune to Heavy Duty Boots helps with any entry hazards that would weaken Hydrapple., and However, Leftovers can be used to help Hydrapple maintain longevity HP along with its Grass STAB and Regenerator ability. (Write a sentence on the downside of running leftovers over hdb. Vulnerable to hazards.) This EV spread allows helps Hydrapple to outpace Hisuian Goodra, while also maximizing its bulk.

Gouging Fire makes a great offensive teammate for Hydrapple helping it get rid of Fairy-type Fairy Type threats in Klefki Tinkaton, Hatterene, and Iron Valiant, while also hitting Ice-type Ice type threats in Articuno Weavile, Chien-Pao, and Mamoswine. All 6 who would likely OHKO or wall Hydrapple. Garchomp is also another good offensive pokemon to pair with Hydrapple as it can hit Fire and Poison threats with its Ground STAB, while also getting rid of other Garchomps with its Dragon STAB. (honestly just talk about how garchomp provides entry hazard support while checking poison-, steel-, and Fire mons for hydrapple.) Specially Defensive pokemon like Hisuian Goodra can be a great wall to the numerous amount of threats that Hydrapple has, and become a physical wall as well with its access to Acid Armor, making hard for offensive pokemon like Hisui Sneasler and Iron Valiant as mentioned earlier, for coming in and KOing Hydrapple. (Just talk about hoodra being a great special wall by tanking hits from flutter mane and specs greninja.) Last but not least, Dragapult, a very versatile can fill a numerous amount of roles to help Hydrapple safely get in take care of what it’s supposed to. (This just sounds like an opinion, Talk about how dragapult checks Ghost and Psychic threats like Flutter Mane, Gholdengo, and Hatterene.)
- Add Raging Bolt as a teammate: helps in the flying match up for hydrapple, while taking out faster threats with thunderclap at +1
- Add latias and latios: strong wallbreakers, threatening poison and fighting types for hydrapple. Also mention how latias provides healing wish support.
- Add archaludon: strong wall that checks chien pao for hydrapple while providing hazard support in stealth rock.

Hydro Pump can also be used to hit Gliscor and Volcarona as well.

(you can remove this section altogether, hydro pump isnt a consistent way to beat volcarona since it can live one and basically ohko you, and can setup on you after it lives a hydro pump. hydrapple if its already behind a sub can just setup on gliscor and +2 giga drain 1v1s it easily, and if you arent behind sub you risk getting toxic'd so you dont even want to stay in to hydro pump gliscor cuz the trade isnt worthwhile for the apple)

implement these and ill check back when its done

No prob- remember to change your curly apostrophes, though! You can just delete them and type in new ones in the Smogon editor and they'll come out as ASCII. There are actually two of them, one in the first paragraph and one in the second.
