Snorlax's excellent special bulk combined with its Thick Fat Ability allows it to function as a serviceable late-game cleaner with Curse. It also can serve as a switch in to some of the tier's most threatening special attackers such as Dragalge, Inteleon, and Salazzle. However, its reliance on Rest for recovery leaves it open to being worn down or Tricked, which can be a momentum drain for its team. Snorlax's low Speed and its initially low physical bulk means that Pokemon like Virizion, Drapion, and Toxicroak can stop its sweep. The given Nature and EV spread allows Snorlax to tank a Draco Meteor from a Choice Specs-boosted Goodra, as well as two Draco Meteors from Dragalge. Darkest Lariat allows Snorlax to punish switch ins such as Golurk, Dhelmise, and Bronzong, as well as other Snorlax. Earthquake, on the other hand, can nail Normal-resists like Gigalith, Copperajah, and Klefki. Sleep Talk could be ran instead so that Snorlax isn't a sitting duck, but this makes it lose valuable coverage it desperately needs.
Snorlax greatly appreciates pivots so it can come into battle safely, so teammates like Dragalge, Silvally-Fairy, and Vikavolt should be considered. All three can also switch into Fighting-type moves for Snorlax, and Silvally-Fairy can easily switch into Trick and Knock Off. Hazard support from the likes of Klefki, Golisopod, and Copperajah can make Snorlax more intimidating to face. Physically defensive Pokemon like Vileplume, Xatu, and Steelix can help Snorlax stomach physical attacks before it begins to set up. Other offensive Pokemon like Heliolisk, Goodra, and Bewear love Snorlax's ability to pivot into Fire- and Ice-type moves.
