Hey everyone! It’s time for Season 14 of SmORGon Survivor! This season's hosts are Andy Snype, Broil and platinumCheesecake. This season's helpers are ajhockeystar The Goomy & awanderingcaelum We will have a prize pool currently set at $50 (USD) for the winner.

We ask that you only sign up for this game if you are going to be committed to being active for the full length of the game. As a 16-person game, we expect this game to last about 6 weeks and to start on February 19th. Although you don’t need to spend every second checking it, activity is important! Not to mention, games are more fun when they’re active! Spectators are also strongly encouraged to join the server!

For those of you new to survivor, here is a brief explanation that explains how it works:
The game starts with the players divided onto 2 or more tribes of an equal player amount. You are only allowed to talk amongst your own tribe. These tribes compete in challenges to win immunity. The winning tribe(s) are safe, and the losing tribe(s) go to “Tribal Council”. At tribal council, the tribe must vote out one of their own people. The players have 24 hours to talk about who they are voting out, and privately submit a vote. The votes are then revealed without revealing who voted for who, and the player who gets the most votes is eliminated from the game.

There is likely to be a “swap” at some point, in which the players are randomly assigned to new tribes. You may or may not be placed on a new tribe with people from your old tribe.

Once the players whittle down to a small enough number, a “merge” occurs. At this point, all players are placed on the same tribe. When challenges occur, players compete for individual immunity instead of tribal immunity. This means that if you win a challenge, you are safe from being voted out, and everyone else is at risk. In the merge, everyone gets to vote for who goes home.

All (or almost all) of the players voted out in the merge go to something called the jury. Once there are 2 or 3 players left in the game, those 2 or 3 players have to plead their case to the jury about why they should win. The jury then gets to vote for who they think is most worthy of being the Sole Survivor.

Before signing up, here are the rules:

1. Game Basics:
  • Don't seek help from people outside of the game. Do not talk to people about the game with people not on your current tribe.
  • During the Day phases of the game there will be immunity challenges. Immunity challenges decide who is safe and who has to go to Tribal Council.
  • During the Tribal Stage of the game, challenges will be won and lost as a whole tribe. The tribe(s) that lose(s) in the immunity challenge will have to go to Tribal Council and vote someone out.
  • During the Individual Stage of the game, challenges will be won and lost by a single person. The winner of the immunity challenge cannot be voted upon, but (s)he will be able to vote.
  • Advantages, including but not limited to idols and extra votes, may or may not be hidden in the game and may be rewarded to the first player(s) to find them.
  • Idols or advantages may or may not be rehidden after being played.
2. Challenges:
  • Challenges are the tasks that players or tribes will compete in to win immunity and be safe from Tribal Council. The challenges themselves will all vary and will typically not be very similar to one another.
  • At the start of the Day phase, the details of the challenge will be posted.
  • During Tribal (Team) challenges, some players may have to sit out some of the challenges (usually to make even teams). Players cannot sit out during two consecutive challenges unless otherwise stated.
3. Tribal Council
  • Tribal Council will occur at the Night phase after the Immunity Challenge. There will be a private vote to see who is eliminated from the game. Votes will take place in your submissions channel. You may switch your vote as many times as you wish in a given tribal council. Just make sure that you submit your vote before the deadline. Voting deadlines are typically 24 hours after the immunity challenge.
  • Before you're allowed to vote, the hosts may post questions for you to publicly answer in your tribe's Tribal Council chat.
  • The vote total will be revealed to the tribe at the end of the night, but the hosts will not announce who voted for who.
  • If any hidden immunity idols are played, all the votes cast against the player who used the HII will be negated. If a player chooses to play an idol, they cannot undo this action. Players cannot switch their idol target once they've used it on somebody.
  • In case of an initial tie, there will be a re-vote where you can only vote for one of the people with the most votes. For example, if there are 3 votes for Player A, 3 votes for Player B, and 1 vote for Player C in a 7 man tribe, you may only vote for Player A or B during the re-vote. Additionally, the players with the most votes in the original vote will not be able to cast a new vote in the revote.
  • In case of a second tie, the player who leaves will be determined by a random number generator. The players who tied for the most votes both times will be safe from this tiebreaker. In the previous example, players A and B would be safe, as would any player that has immunity or played an idol correctly.
  • Players voted out (aka dead) cannot be communicated with following their removal from the game. There will be absolutely no communication between dead players and alive players regarding the game. This will change when the game reaches its conclusion, but until then, this rule will be strictly enforced.
  • At a certain point, those voted out will form the Jury. The Jury is special in that they follow the game in order to vote for a winner at the end of the game.
4. Winning The Game
  • The goal of the game is to reach the Final Tribal Council, which typically occurs with just two or three people left in the game. You cannot win the game unless you make it to the Final Tribal Council.
  • At the Final Tribal Council, the remaining players in the game speak to the Jury and try to convince the jury that they deserve to win the game.
  • Each finalist is allowed to make an opening statement on why they deserve to win the game. Following opening statements, each Jury member is allowed to make either a statement or ask the finalists a question if they choose to. They may say or ask whatever they want. An open and public dialogue may occur, and back-and-forth conversations with many members is encouraged.
  • When everyone is done speaking, the jury will vote privately on who wins the game. Whoever gets the most votes wins.
5. Forum/Discord Mechanics:
  • A typical phase will go like this: A host will post a challenge and the rules. The challenge will take place over the following day or two. The losing tribe will then go to tribal council where they will vote a person off. Some challenges may be a little different, but this is how a majority of them will go.
  • The voting stage will start immediately after a challenge and end within 24 hours or when all votes on the tribe have been cast. Extensions will be rare, so don't expect them.
  • Inactive players who fail to vote will place an unconditional and public vote for themselves.
  • No impersonating other players. You will be punished if caught.
  • There will be a designated discord sever for the game with private channels for the individual tribes. Production Team will make chats for every 1 on 1 combination of players, but to have an alliance chat with 3 or more players you need to make a request in your confessional space. If it's time sensitive and the hosts aren't online, you may temporarily make a discord group outside of the server but you MUST invite the hosts to that. Once any alliance is formed, a new chat/channel has to be created if members are to be added
  • You may voice call with other player(s) about the game. Voice calls must involve at least one host or helper. Voice calls may be made in group DMs.
6. All Smogon/Circus behavior rules are enforced. Notably, this includes:
  • Don't be excessively harsh to other players, hosts, or members of the production team. This includes threats of any sort, which could lead to removal from the game and further forum punishments.
  • Don't share screenshots to players inside the game about game related content. They may be posted in your confessionals though.
  • Although it is not a Smogon/Circus rule, this rule from Season 13 will be reused: No posting logs of chats with other players. It doesn’t matter whether they are real logs or fake logs, or whether it’s one line or a hundred lines, you may not send them to other players. (Feel free to send them in your confessional though!)
7. Rules are subject to change upon Host Discretion.

To sign up, fill out this google form: https://forms.gle/iHpxDYDmbGWqy1Fe9 and join this discord server: https://discord.gg/tvW7TE45aj This game will be administered through that server so you must join this server by application deadline. Spectators are encouraged to join the discord server as well, last season saw one of our most engaged spectator chats ever and we'd like to keep that going strong!

Here's some information specific to Season 14:
  • This is a smaller game since SmORGon started advertising on Pokemon Showdown with 16 people. We expect this game to run for approximately for 6 weeks.
  • Certain challenges may require scheduling with a host, helper, or other player. We will let you know if the next challenge is semi-live, live, or can be taken at your own pace (pending a helper/host is around)
  • Though The Great Marsh is a Safari Zone in the Sinnoh games, this game does not have an ORG safari that players adventure through to acquire advantages.
  • Instead, advantages shall be hidden through some of the traditional ways of finding idol challenges: clues hidden across the game discord server, the Smogon thread, the hosts' discord profiles, statuses, and/or Smogon accounts. Any such clue will be hidden in an area related to one of these settings. Advantage challenges & puzzles will not be publicly announced beyond said clue nor will there be an announcement of who has completed them.
  • From reviewing our game design, here are some recurring themes we have noticed. If you've got an interest for any of these, you should consider signing up for this game: Pokemon knowledge, browser games, game shows, identifying things, and puzzles. Pokemon is the most recurring theme of this game; we strongly recommend signing up if you're familiar with it.
  • The puzzles are slightly easier than Smogon Puzzle Hunt 2020's Three Of A Kind (1-3) & Scrapbooking (1-4). Answer keys to both are available in the first link (https://spo.ink/sph20archives) We also strongly recommend reading this example Fire Token Hunt from last season: Fire_Token_Hunt_Example.pdf
  • Last season's major twist was Fire Tokens, which was a currency acquired through accomplishing advantage puzzles & challenges that could be used to purchase advantages. The Great Marsh has no such currency system like this.
  • If you think you've found a clue or answer for an advantage, write it out in your submissions channel, all lower-case, no spaces
  • There is a prize pool of $50 to go to the winner of the game. Best confessional will receive $10.

Application Deadline: Wednesday February 17th at 11:59 PM EST (GMT -5)
Game Start: Friday February 19th at 6:00 PM EST (GMT -5)

Challenge #1: Itemfinder

In this challenge, tribes will participate in a scavenger hunt. We will provide both tribes with a list of various items that they must find and photograph with a set of points. The tribe that gets the most points will win the challenge, while the other tribe will attend Tribal Council and vote the first person off of their tribe.

Since this is your first challenge, we want to see some tribe spirit! As a team, you will be trying to take pictures of as many of the hunt items as possible. You must include in your picture either the name of your tribe or an image of your tribe mascot to get credit.

Each tribe will have a channel in which to submit their pictures and ask questions only. Each time you submit a picture, please specify the number of the item you are submitting it for. A host or helper will react with either a
:white_check_mark:
or an
:x:
emote, depending on whether the item was accepted or not. If the item was not accepted, you may resubmit another image for that item. It is up to your tribe to keep track of the items you have already submitted.

You will have until 7:30 PM EST Sunday to submit your pictures. Any submissions received after 7:30 will not be counted.

Here's the link to the scavenger hunt! You have the whole weekend to work on it!

Good luck and happy hunting!

With a final score of 187-174, the Wooper tribe took victory over the Psyduck tribe by 13 points.
The results can be found here.

The Psyduck tribe was sent to tribal council, where Litt was voted out.

After tribal council, the Battle Zone twist was introduced. Similar to Redemption Island from the show, players that are voted out will not immediately be out of the game - they will compete in 1-on-1 duels against the other players who are also voted out, for a shot to eventually return to the game.

Litt is the first Castaway at the Battle Zone.

Episode 2 Recap

After going to the first Tribal Council, the Psyduck tribe sought immunity at the second Immunity challenge of the season.

Challenge #2: No More Pokémon

The name of this game is No More Pokemon! The idea is each person takes turns naming different Pokemon and an objective category that fits the Pokemon beginning with “No more Pokemon…” within a time limit each round. As the rounds progress, the rules stack on each other. Once a category is named, no further Pokemon named can match any of the categories.

Rules:
1. This challenge will be administered over Pokemon Showdown in a groupchat. We recommend setting the time settings to display [hh:mm:ss] in the settings menu for this challenge. Ping a host when you’re ready to start and we’ll make it for you. The actual challenge doesn’t take more than 5 minutes.

2. Each player has 15 seconds to name a Pokemon, and then another 45 seconds to type a rule.

3. Each rule must be objective and no more than 6 words following “No more Pokemon from/that/which.” Each new rule should fit the most recently named Pokemon. “No more Pokemon that are cute uwu” is not a valid category. However, “No More Pokemon that get Cute Charm” is valid.

4. When a Pokemon is named, it must not match all of the “No More Pokemon” categories that have been named across all rounds so far.

5. Instead of naming a pokemon, you may issue a Challenge. If a Challenge is called, the person that issued the Challenge is the Challenger and the other player is the Defender. The onus is on the Challenger to find the hole in the Defender’s logic. Challenges may be called on either the most recent category or the most recent Pokemon named.

6. In a Category Challenge, if there are no more Pokemon that can fit all the categories so far, the Defender has one (1) chance to name a Pokemon that successfully fits all the categories, proving that there is a valid Pokemon that works.

7. In a Pokemon Challenge, the Challenger must explain why the Defender’s Pokemon either doesn’t exclude from any of the previously named categories or the Defender’s currently proposed category doesn’t fit the Pokemon.

8. If the players don’t come to an agreement on a Challenge by themselves, they may call upon the host to arbitrate and present their cases to the host who will make a judgement call. One outcome may be to redo the overall challenge.

9. You win if your opponent runs out of time or your opponent loses the Challenge. This challenge is a Best of 1.
Player 1: “Pikachu! No more Pokemon that Ash Ketchum has ever owne
Player 2 must then name a Pokemon that Ash Ketchum has never owned
Player 2: “Diglett! No more Pokemon from Gen
Player 1 must then name a Pokemon that Ash Ketchum has never owned and is also not a Gen 1 Pokemon.

Should there be a category named that a player thinks there is no valid Pokemon that could fit all the categories named so far, the player may instead challenge it by saying “Challenge!” If a challenge is disproven, the player loses. A challenge may also be called if the most recent Pokemon named doesn’t fit all the “No more” categories. When a challenge is called, the onus is on the player that called the challenge to identify the weakness in the response.

Three options may happen here:
Player 1 names Spheal and Player 1 wins because Player 1 defends from Player 2’s challenge successfully because Spheal is not from Gen 1 nor has Ash ever had it.
Player 1 names Onix and Player 2 points out that it’s incorrect (since it’s from Gen 1) and Player 2 wins because Player 2’s Challenge is successful.
Player 1 names Onix and Player 2 doesn’t point out it’s incorrect, then the game is over in Player 1’s win because Player 1 defended the challenge successfully.

Matchups:
(Psyduck vs. Wooper)
Jackie vs. Flare
Pidgin! vs. Jacob
Matieu vs. Maximilliano
toblerone vs. Morgue
Vilegloom
vs. mustard
Fones vs. Ryan
Ben vs. Stoows

With a score of 4-3, Psyduck won immunity over the Wooper tribe.

At the second Tribal Council, the Wooper tribe voted out Morgue. After being voted out, it was discovered that Morgue had cheated by inviting an alternate account to the server to gain game information. As a result, Morgue was disqualified from the game.

Because of the DQ, Litt automatically wins the first Fight Area duel and is one step closer to getting back in the game.

Until the next recap!

With both tribes even at 7 members, they headed into their next immunity challenge.

Challenge #3: Counting Calories

In this challenge, each tribe will be given a document with pictures of various food items. Your job as a tribe is to guess how many calories the food in the picture contains.

The closest tribe to the actual calorie count for each item will gain a point for that item.

The tribe with the most points wins! In the event of a tie, there will be an additional tiebreaker image.

In a landslide 11-3 victory, the Wooper tribe won immunity, sending the Psyduck tribe to Tribal Council.

At Tribal Council, the Psyduck tribe voted out Fones. Fones will join Litt on the Battle Zone, and the first Fight Area duel will take place next episode.

Episode 4 Recap

Down one member, the Psyduck tribe sought redemption at the next immunity challenge.

Challenge #4: Mighty Morphin’ Other Metas

You are about to play in a metagame that has never existed before. A metagame that you and your opponent will build together. Listed below are merely the building blocks. Your tribe will be given a list of 6 Modifiers that only your tribe can see, and a list of 6 of Formats that both tribes can see. Modifiers are special modifications to the way Pokemon battles are conducted. You will assign each player to one of these modifiers. Then, you will assign each player to a Format. The player who also picked the same format will be your opponent, and you must build a team that aligns to both of the Modifiers and the Format. So for example, if one Wooper Tribe member picks “No Legendaries” as a Modifier, and RU as a format, they would play against the Psyduck Tribe member who also picked RU, alongside their rule of, let’s say, “Moves must be 100 bp or more.” The Wooper Tribe member would not know this rule existed, and the Psyduck Tribe member would not know “No Legendaries” existed. The two players would then need to build a team that conforms to both laws and in the RU tier.

This sounding all too much for you? That’s okay. We hosts understand that extensive battling challenges might be a little much for some of you. We do not want to force someone who is uncomfortable with teambuilding or who does not have the time to build to be stuck in a frustrating position. That’s why we also have two Fixed slots. These slots are pure Bo3 Random Battles, specifically Gen 8 and Gen 4 Random Battles. No special rules will be applied to them.

Aside from Random Battles, These are all Bo1, but you can make a gentleman’s agreement to play Bo3 if you wish. Feel free to use your tribe as a resource when theorycrafting what your brand new metagame will look like.

Once you have selected your personal Modifier and Format, please tag the hosts in your tribe chat. We will assign your opponent and give you the challenge code, and you may schedule with them in the challenge channel, but you may not talk about anything unrelated to this challenge. You must ping AJ or Platty to verify your team is legal. Please pick your Modifier and Format as soon as possible.

In the event of a tie, each tribe will send forward one member to play a bo1 set with the Tiebreaker rules. Please have a team ready for this contingency!

Results:
(Psyduck vs. Wooper)
Pidgin! vs. Flare
Jackie
vs. Jacob
Vilegloom vs. Ryan
Matieu
vs. Maximilliano
Ben vs. Mustard
Toblerone
vs Melissa (forfeit)

At a 3-3 tie, the tribes went to a tiebreaker match where Ryan claimed victory for the Wooper tribe over Jackie, sending the Psyduck tribe to Tribal Council.

Meanwhile, the first Fight Area duel took place on the Battle Zone.

Fight Area 2: The Bee Movie But Whenever They Say Bee It Speeds Up By 10%

The second Redemption Island Challenge is: Hive! The objective of this challenge is to trap your opponent’s queen bee tile. In a nutshell, players take turns placing insects (a 6-sided token) or moving one of their played insects in a way such that the overall hive (chain of all insects). We strongly recommend reading the rules of the game on boardgamearena: https://www.gen42.com/download/rules/hive/Hive_English_Rules.pdf

Here is also a youtube video that explains the challenge in a nutshell:

This game will be played on https://boardgamearena.com/, which you will need an account. You will also need to schedule with your opponent. If you need practice games, please ask in your confessionals and if anyone’s around, we’re happy to give some practice games.

Fones won the best of 3 duel 2-0, maintaining his position on the Battle Zone, and eliminating Litt in 15th place.

At Tribal Council, the Psyduck tribe voted out Pidgin!, who will join Fones on the Battle Zone.

Until the next recap!

Episode 5 Recap

The Psyduck Tribe and the Woopers fought again at the next immunity challenge despite the Psyduck tribe being down two members.

Challenge #5: Bug Buddies

The Queen’s Gambit has revitalized interest in Chess, and we’ll be damned if we aren’t going to cash in on the new arrivals to the scene. For this semi-live challenge, you’ll be pairing up with a partner from your tribe to play Bughouse, the crazy doubles Chess format that’s equal parts chaotic and fun. You will use chess.com to set up matches.

For the uninitiated, essentially Bughouse is you and a partner playing simultaneously, except whenever you take a piece, your partner becomes able to place it down instead of taking their turn. First team to score a checkmate on either board wins. Oh, and matches are traditionally played within a brisk 3-minute turn timer. It’s all about managing your communication lines while playing your board as solid as you can. At the same time, Bughouse is chaotic enough that even if you aren’t good at chess you can still play an even match.

Because we have an odd number of players, we also have one slot of Fog of War chess, where you cannot see your opponent’s pieces unless a piece has direct sight on them. One player will need to volunteer to play this slot.

Please notify the hosts ASAP who your desired partner is, both your chess.com usernames, and which format you wish to play. You will then be able to post in the challenge channel to schedule your time. You may not share any information in this channel except with regards to this challenge.

There are two Bughouse boards to sign up for. The first one is for stronger players, and the second is for more beginner-level players, though this is merely a suggestion.

Board 1: Bo5 Bughouse 3 minute (not 3 | 2 time control) (2v2);
Board 2: Bo3 Bughouse 5 minute (2v2)
Board 3: Bo3 Fog of War 10 minute (1v1)

Initial Matchups:

Board 1: Bo5 bughouse 3 minute time control: Ben & Jackie vs Jacob & Stoows
Board 2: Bo3 Bughouse 5 minute time control: Matieu & Vilegloom vs Maximilliano & mustard
Board 3: Fog of War 10 minute time control: toblerone vs Flare

After Flare and Toblerone fought in Fog of War, there were technical issues in setting up 2v2 lobbies on chess.com consistently with Board 1. So the format was adjusted to King of the Hill Chess 1v1 between the 4 contestants. If the score was still tied, the winners would play in a tiebreak. Here were the matchups:

Ben (White) vs Jacob (Black)
Jackie (White) vs Stoows (Black)

Tiebreak:
Ben (White) vs Stoows (Black)

Wooper wins the challenge 2-0, sending Psyducks to tribal once again and the other matchup was not played.

Meanwhile at the Battle Zone, Fones and Pidgin! duked it out in the next Fight Area:

Fight Area 3: The Keywords To Victory

Our third redemption island challenge is Semantris! https://research.google.com/semantris

You will be playing the arcade mode. The objective of this challenge is to gain the most points. Words will be dropped on and some may be highlighted and you will suggest a search word/phrase that Google’s algorithm will rank the possible terms based off its likelihood to relate to the word/phrase. If any of the words are at a certain threshold, you get points and can clear all the words ranked below the highest-placed highlighted word.

This challenge will be done individually. Please take a screenshot of your browser tab and submit it in your confessional/submissions channel. Alt + Print Screen on Windows or Cmd + Shift + 3/4 on Mac is fine. You have 24 hours from the time a host tags you to finish this challenge. Good luck!

Fones's 12200 bested Pidgin!'s 8255, naming Pidgin! as our 14th place.

At Tribal Council, the Psyducks vote out Jackie, who joins Fones on the Battle Zone!

Episode 6 Recap

Now at a deficit of 3 players, things were looking grim for the Psyduck tribe.

However... at the beginning of the episode, a tribe swap was announced! The 11 players were swapped into new tribes. To make the number even, the winner of this episode's Fight Area duel was brought back into the game.

Fight Area #4: The Obligatory Puzzle Challenge
In this duel, you will be attempting to complete a jigsaw puzzle faster than your opponent.

When you are ready to do the puzzle, tag a host in your Submissions channel. We will provide you a link, and you will send an image of the completed puzzle. We will use Discord Snowflake to determine the time between the host posting the link and your completed image.

Some notes about this puzzle:
1. The pieces do not rotate.
2. You can enable a translucent background by clicking the ghost icon in the bottom left.

Jackie and Fones competed for the best time on this Puzzle.

With an incredible time of 7:30, Fones won the duel against Jackie's 21:35, securing himself a spot back in the game and eliminating Jackie in 13th place.

Now with 12 players, the players were swapped into two new tribes.

Back to an even playing field, the tribes headed into their next immunity challenge!

Challenge #6: The Obligatory Trivia Challenge
In this challenge, we will have 11 different time slots, each with their own category that will be announced shortly before the time period. At each timeslot, both tribes will nominate one player as their representative. This representative will compete head to head in a 5-question trivia challenge versus the other tribe’s representative. The first to three points will gain that slot’s point for their tribe.

Any other online tribe members may collaborate with your representative to help them get the answer, including in a voice chat. Keep in mind that only the representative’s answers in the challenge chat will count.

The category for each time slot will not be revealed until 5 minutes before that time slot, at which point the tribe will decide on their representative.

Each tribe member can only represent their tribe at a maximum of three time slots. Collaborating with your tribemates if you are not the representative does not count towards these slots.

If a tribe does not or cannot nominate a representative, they will forfeit the point for that slot.

Some general trivia rules:
1. You will not be judged based on your spelling. However, the host must be able to clearly tell the answer you meant. If it is ambiguous, we may refuse to accept the answer.
2. If the answer is a person, you may either answer the full name or just their last name.

Results

Round 1: Max vs. Ryan (Geography)
Round 2: Vilegloom vs. Flare (Cooking)
Round 3: Vilegloom vs. Jacob (Current Events)
Round 4: mustard vs. Matieu (Women of History)

After starting with a 0-4 deficit, the Skorupi tribe pulled off a massive comeback: winning immunity 6-5 and sending the Croagunk tribe to Tribal Council.

At Tribal Council, the Croagunk tribe voted out Melissa, who will await the next challenger at the Battle Zone.

Episode 7 Recap

Having lost the first challenge as new tribes, the Croagunk tribe sought immunity at our next challenge.

Challenge #7: TBD
This is a three part challenge. For the first part, each player will receive a set of questions in their submissions channel, which you must answer honestly. You may not discuss your questions or answers with your tribemates.

The rest of the challenge will be announced once everyone has submitted their answers!

--

Challenge #7: Team Fibbage
The goal of this challenge will be to see how well you know each of your tribemates. Each player will receive three questions that were asked to three of their tribemates, and will have to guess which answer their tribe mate responded.

But first, we will need some fake answers for each player to choose from! These will be created by the other tribe. We will send each tribe the list of the 15 questions answered by the other tribe. Both tribes will come up with one fake answer for each question. You should communicate as a tribe about these fake answers, but be sure not to mention any of your own questions or answers.

In the event that a fake answer is the same as the real answer, we will notify the tribe and they will pick a different fake answer.

After both tribes have submitted their fake answers, we will send each player their three questions in multiple choice format, and you will select which answer you believe your tribemate responded with.

The tribe with the most correct answers will win the challenge, while the other tribe will be sent to tribal council, where one player will be voted off and sent to the Battle Zone.

In the event of a tie, the tiebreak will be live. Please have some of your tribemates present at reveal.

Episode 8 Recap

Down two members, the Croagunk tribe went into the next immunity challenge desperately needing a win.

Challenge #8: Image Credits
In this challenge, you will be given a list of images shamelessly cropped from webcomics from across the internet. It is your job to find both the name of the webcomic and the specific panel or page that the image in question was drawn from. Your tribe will earn 1 point for correctly naming the webcomic the image was drawn from, and another 1 point for linking the exact strip. Whichever tribe gets the most points at the end of the challenge period will gain tribal immunity. In the event of a tiebreaker, each tribe will race in real-time to find the exact strip of a final image.

Please make a Google Sheets to catalogue your answers and share it with the hosts. The images you will be searching for can be found here. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FZb4tGDgLwxMZ6COLALnH2OUCCCjaYg4F-SEKPu_a7E/edit?usp=sharing

In a massive 26-7 victory, the Skorupi tribe shut out the Croagunk tribe once again, sending them to a third tribal council.

In this challenge, we will be providing you with a Wikipedia page and your job will be to navigate to Jesus' page, using a chain of Wikipedia links on each page you visit.

Both players will go through 5 speedruns, and will be timed by hosts watching them over screenshare. Whichever player gets the fastest time on each speedrun will win that point. Firs tto three points wins the challenge.

Melissa did not complete the challenge, and therefore forfeited to mustard. mustard will remain on the Battle Zone.

Challenge #9: Fusion Fiasco
This challenge will be administered live for each tribe.

Meanwhile at the Battle Zone, mustard and toblerone fought in their next duel.

Episode 10 Recap

Coming of their first tribal immunity, things were looking up for the Croagunk tribe. But at the beginning of the episode, the tribes were merged!

One final player between Matieu and toblerone would return from the Battle Zone to join the tribe members in the merge.

Fight Area #7: Gauge Your Abilities
The objective of this challenge is to finish a marathon of mini-challenges with the least amount of time taken. For each challenge, you will guess how long it will take you to finish the challenge, to the nearest second. If you finish the challenge under your guess, your time for the challenge will be the amount of time you guessed. If you go over your guessed time, your time for the challenge will be double the time you took.

The challenges are:
1. Count to 150 and back without errors starting from 1. You may edit your posts if you make a mistake. After you finish, each mistake found will add 5 seconds to your time.
2. 50 basic math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers 1-12). Each incorrectly answered question will add 10 seconds to your time.
3. Win 3 games of [Gen 8] Random Battle on a fresh account. The account's name must contain the words "battle zone" in it.
4. A 4x4 sliding puzzle of this season's logo.

Here are the results:
Counting: Matieu - 7:00, toblerone - 18:38
Math: Matieu - 6:00, toblerone - 7:00
Battles: Matieu - 18:00, toblerone - 11:30
Slide Puzzle: Matieu - 5:20, toblerone - 7:28

With a total of 36:20 against 44:36, Matieu rejoined the game and eliminated toblerone in 10th place. toblerone will become the first member of our Jury.

Now on the 9-person merge tribe, the players named their tribe the Ludicolo tribe and competed in the first individual immunity challenge.

F9 Challenge: Empires
In this challenge, everyone will select a short alias in their Submissions channel. Once everyone has selected their alias, players will take turns guessing other players’ aliases. If your alias is correctly guessed, you are out of the game.

If you make an incorrect guess, the person you guessed will get an opportunity to guess. If your guess is correct, you will guess again.

Once there is only one player remaining, that player will win the challenge and gain individual immunity at the next tribal council!

Once the challenge starts, you may discuss any aspects of this challenge you would like in 1-on-1 or alliance chats.

Please submit your aliases quickly so we can begin the game!

Matieu came out victorious in the challenge and won Immunity. Because Matieu already had immunity by returning from the Battle Zone, Matieu transferred immunity to Vilegloom.

At Tribal Council, the vote was tied 4-4-1 between Ben and Fones. In the revote, Ben was voted out in a vote of 4-3. Ben will become the second member of our jury.

Episode 11 Recap

Now at 8 people, the Ludicolo tribe headed into the next individual immunity challenge.

F8 Challenge: Browser Games Done Quick
In this challenge, you’ll become a speedrunner for the next 24 hours.

Your objective is simple: Learn how to play the browser game Choppy Orc at the highest level.

Whoever submits their fastest time within the challenge window wins. To make a submission, you must complete the full game in Speedrun mode (this includes the in-game timer) and send a full desktop screenshot that includes a timestamp in your submissions channel. You may submit multiple times.

Like any good speedrunner, you have the full support of the Internet to help you. Yes, this is one challenge where it is totally encouraged to ask for help! Feel free to use any and all resources available to whittle away those seconds. As long as you are the one completing the game, anything is allowed.

In the event people do not complete the game, you will be placed based on the highest level submitted, and any ties will be broken by time.

We look forward to seeing your fastest times! The game can be played here: https://or321.github.io/choppy-orc-autosplitter/

Oh wait...
there's one more thing.
This episode's challenge is NOT for individual immunity.

You see, this challenge is a little special. At the end of the challenge period, your times will be ranked, and you’ll have a list of rewards to choose from, one of which is individual immunity.

The 1st place player will have their pick of any reward they want. After they pick, the 2nd place player will have their pick of the remaining rewards, and so on. This means not only does 1st place get to pick first, but also they are the only player who knows what every item up for grabs is.

Oh, and beware, not all purchases are beneficial! Score in last place and you might get stuck with a disadvantage!

The times were as follows:

1. Matieu - 2:08.869
2. Stoows - 2:14.432
3. Flare - 2:16.648
4. Maximilliano - 2:51.9
5. Fones - 2:55.4
6. Jacob - 3:43.2
7. Ryan - Level 10, 14:00
8. Vilegloom - Level 3, 0:44

Matieu chose the Individual Immunity reward. At Tribal Council, Maximilliano was voted out in a 5-3 vote, and was eliminated in 8th place and became the 3rd member of our jury.

Until the next recap!

Episode 12 Recap

With 7 players remaining, there are only a few episodes left! At the beginning of the episode, the players participated in their next immunity challenge.

F7 Challenge: Literally Reading
Uh, yeah. That's the challenge. Literally just reading a book. Specifically, Animal Farm by George Orwell. Your task is to find a copy somehow... and then read it.

You’ll be given an open-book quiz on the book strictly on content, not on deeper ideas. The highest scoring player will win, and in the event of a tie it will be broken by time. Type !readingquiz in your submissions channel to begin the quiz. You will be timed from the moment the quiz is first posted until you post your answers. Please post your answers as one post to make it easier to grade. You may not edit your answers once you have posted them.

Look, I don't know how much clearer this gets. I'm padding for space here as is. Just read a book for once in your life, okay?

With the only perfect 15/15 score, Fones took individual immunity in the challenge.

At Tribal Council, the Ludicolo tribe voted out Matieu in a 4-2-1 vote. Matieu is eliminated in 7th place and becomes the fourth member of our jury.

Episode 13 Recap

At 6 players remaining, the Ludicolo tribe headed into their next Individual Immunity challenge.

F6 Challenge: Sharpedo Tank
Your objective is to prepare a short ~5 minute presentation on a problem that would exist in the Pokemon world, and how you intend to solve it. Please include some sort of a visual aid, preferably through Google Slides, though other media can be used if desired.

We aren’t looking for super-technical engineering blueprints or business plans or anything. This is, at the end of the day, a Pokemon-universe problem, and you should feel comfortable playing around within the world’s suspension of disbelief. This is primarily a creativity and presentation challenge, and we don’t want you to feel too constrained by the laws of Poke-physics.

You will be judged on creativity, coherence, presentation, and humor.

Remember when I said you were gonna have homework? ;)

Stoows won individual immunity with a score of 265/300. Here are the full results: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LGuJcXKdLgd3u1xqYkpoaa_gFrouD2C6KbHLBP2RVcw/edit

At Tribal Council, the Ludicolo tribe voted out Jacob in 6th place in a 3-1-1-1 vote. Jacob will become the 5th member of our jury.

F5 Challenge: The Other Obligatory Trivia Challenge
I hope you've taken notes on what's been happening so far this game, because we've compiled a quiz for you to take.

Just like Literally Reading, the highest scoring player will win, and in the event of a tie whoever finishes their quiz faster wins. Type !seasontrivia in your submissions channel to begin the quiz. You will be timed from the moment the quiz is first posted until you post your answers. Please post your answers as one post to make it easier to grade. You may not edit your answers once you have posted them.

Episode 15 Recap

At 4 players, the players headed into their Final Immunity Challenge!

F4 Challenge: Scaling Stark Mountain
Throughout the season you’ve witnessed the buzz of activity within the Battle Zone.
You’ve watched friends and allies come and go, and you’ve watched entire careers hinge on a single head-to-head challenge.
Well, for this challenge, we’ll be remixing all of the past Fight Area challenges into one culmination of your Great Marsh adventure.
I hope you've been paying attention.

The way this works is that you will each pick one of the seven Fight Area challenges for all of you to perform. First place in any individual challenge earns you 4 points, second place earns you 3, etc.. We will sum up your scores and the person with the highest total will win immunity. In the event of a tie, we will randomly pick one of the unselected challenges to serve as the tiebreaker. We will randomize who picks their format first immediately following these announcements.

Here are the formats you may choose from. Note that some of them have been slightly altered to fit a 4-player format. And a brief note: Because of a disqualification, the first Fight Area challenge is one you never got to see, but is still one you may select if you so choose.

Bonk (First to 5 on the custom map PvP Death Arrows #1 by team arrows ram in Death Arrows game mode. This will need all four of you online.)
Hive tournament (Randomly generated brackets tour with a 3rd place game. This will need all four of you online.)
Semantris (Played in arcade mode, highest score within 48 hours)
Puzzle Race (Played on jigsawplanet)
Wikipedia Speedruns to Jesus (You must screenshare and the hosts will time you)
Minesweeper (Fastest time possible on expert difficulty within 48 hours)
Gauge Your Abilities (Count to 150 and back without errors, 50 math problems, win 3 gen 8 rands, 4x4 slide puzzle)

Vilegloom selected Wikipedia Speedruns, Fones selected Hive, Flare chose Puzzle Race, and Ryan chose Gauge your abilities.

Here are the results for each section:

Wikipedia Speedruns:
1. Vilegloom - 3 pts
2. Fones - 2 pts
3. Ryan - 2 pts (tie broken by individual performance between Fones and Ryan)
4. Flare - 0 pts

Hive:
1. Fones
2. Flare
3. Ryan
4. Vilegloom

Puzzle Race: (https://www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=0b0f96e76441)
1. Flare - 6:47
2. Fones - 7:11
3. Vilegloom - 11:52
4. Ryan - DNC

Gauge Your Abilities:
1. Fones - 24:14
2. Flare - 29:39
3. Ryan - 38:41
4. Vilegloom - 1:03:06

Overall Placements:
1. Fones - 14 pts
2. Flare - 11 pts
3. Vilegloom - 8 pts
4. Ryan - 7 pts

With that, Fones won final individual immunity and guaranteed himself a spot in the final tribal council. At tribal council, Vilegloom was voted off in 4th place with a vote of 3-1, and becomes the final member of our jury.

Next episode the power will turn to the jury, where the final three will attempt to convince the jury that they deserve to win. See you next time for the final recap!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this season! It's truly been fantastic seeing this whole season play out, and I think tons of great experiences were had and memories and friendships made.

Also a major thank you to the other hosts, Andy Snype and platinumCheesecake, our helpers, ajhockeystar, awanderingcaelum, and The Goomy, as well as everyone else who helped out to make this season be as great as it was! It truly couldn't have gone on without any of you.
